Some severely misguided folks have seriously embarrassed themselves by screaming that President Trump's proposal that future immigrants must be able to communicate in English is designed to allow immigration by Whites Only.
The abysmal ignorance of these people is breath taking. (Perhaps with the exception of the CNN reporter Jim Acosta, whose ignorance is well known and no surprise, and who stated that this rule would bring immigrants only from England and Australia.)
You might want to review this list of 54 nations where English is the OFFICIAL LANGUAGE and is the language of instruction in higher education. Note that the United States is not on this list.

Some of these countries have multiple official languages.
Your link is to an opinion posted by an individual.
Try a posting from scotland.org that says, "English is the main language spoken in Scotland today and has been the since the 18th Century. However, there are a wide range of different accents and dialects spoken across the country. From the largest cities right through to the smallest of our islands, differing accents can be found. These range from soft and sing-song to stronger and more pronounced."

Sure. But note the title of the list. "Countries with English as an Official Language and the Language of Instruction in Higher Education"
Note also how many of these countries have a population that is not predominately White. That's the point.

This is another subject that Washington and partisan resistance factions will politicize completely obscuring the true meaning and good intents within.
I personally believe that most people are well intended and most people will make good decisions to do what is right.
The usual small percentage with the help of the media as an amplifier will completely distort the meaning and intents......for political purposes.....not what is good or right. The media tends to make it sound like the majority of us are wrong intended and meaning.

Exactly what media? and reporting how Trump and his supporters lie, and lie about their lies, is somehow reporting that they are wrong intended and meaning?

Those are all former British Colonies...THAT is WHY they speak English and WHY they are full of former black slaves.
There are facts and then there are REASONS for those facts.

What does that have to do with the fact that their official language is English, and that they are not predominately White in most cases?
How it came about is immaterial. The fact is that their demographics refutes the claim that wanting people who can speak English is not a hidden motive for bringing in White people.

I have a great idea!
Let's trade Donald Trump and Don Baldwin to Namibia for two of their wannabee immigrants!
