Accurate as far as it goes.
Will captures the truth albeit a bit local and narrow.
In my opinion, the election of Trump and that magic 30% which is greater in certain states, has released the extreme alt right, here to fore reserved for Tea Party, etc and they are going to play this to the hilt in those areas where they have folks who will listen.
While those Republicans in congress are walking a real tight rope because of Trump, they wish for a Kelly who can clean that WH up a bit and shut Trump up. His policies are not nation crushing, but his antic, his mouth and his self indulgence are and they must be shut up quickly before it is too late.
However both parties are getting so extreme. Democrats have no leader per se to give direction and are rudderless.....Republicans also have no leader but they own the WH which can be either a blessing or a curse and only time will tell.
What ever happened to the reasoned statesmen and women who were elected based on character and positions on issues, not yelling and screaming and accusing.
We do not need a Republican health bill....we do not need a Republican immigration bill.....BUT we also do not need a Democrat version of either.....we need compromise and an AMERICAN health bill and an AMERICAN immigration bill. One of my biggest complaints during the passing of the ACA was the shutting out of one party.
Who in the hell thinks that ONLY one party has ALL the answers ? Each of them do and as long as they turn their back on each other, we are doomed to just be yelling and accusing.
We need someone to pull the country, starting with our elected officials TOGETHER and quickly.
At this point each simply blames the other with no thought.

It is the extreme alt right and the extreme alt left that voters voted against.. They didn't vote for Donald Trump. They voted against the extremism that was being offered. Many did not want the tyranny of the liberal political correctness where someone could not say a thing without being accussed of racism or bigotry or lack of compassion. Voters didn't want the very, very, conservative Christian right telling them the same thing on the other extreme.
Donald Trump wasn't and still isn't easy to take at the very least, but no one owns him. Most Americans wanted immigration changed or at least the laws followed and most Americans are not wanting Islamic Extremism on their soil. The voters were also sick of pie in the sky greenism that told the truth but had no realistic thing to do about global warming but to go to another country and throw our money out the window while all the others let us. There are many silent people who go to vote and don't march, protest or say much.

I could not disagree more with your premise.
The alt right, extremist are now in power and if you cannot see it, you are one of them.
Gracie, there is a middle ground...pontificating immigration instead of legislating change is extremism. Attacking all the concepts of this country is extremism..SEE BANNON. You just cannot see what this man is doing to this country. It is EXTREME RIGHT WING, CONSPIRACY THEORY in spades. There has been so much damage done to our presidency, it is hard to measure.
I realize you think that I have that syndrome that Rubicon speaks of daily, but I would feel the same way about extreme liberalism. This President is trampling all over our democracy.
That does not make me an extremist liberal. You like to believe your faith in Trump is patriotic. It is the opposite totally, as would be extremism from the other side.

You don't know what I think Bucco, because you are too busy not listening and leaping to irrational conclusions. I didn't like the Republican or the Democrat party and the choices they offered. I didn't like that some punk kid could have been the ex president's son. I don't like the hate. I didn't like anything about Hillary Clinton, (Or Sarah Palin for that matter) I didn't like the preacher boys the Republicans offered, they all wore dumb shoes. I don't love Donald Trump and I think he is an old fashioned macho man, but I stand with a good deal he wants done..

You don't like hate, but love Trump spouting hate for anyone and anything that he disagrees with.
You don't like hate, but support his firing of 3 hardworking justice employees because they are investigating him.
You don't like hate but support his many anti American accusations against not only patriotic servants who work for our country, but actually accusing an ex President of a felony.
Donald Trump is not an old fashioned anything. He has been involved in money laundering, and I have heard his voice demeaning two of his three wives publicly, and in the most explicit degrading manner. I have heard him bragging about sleeping with others wives. You will find as time marches on, he is not, never was a successful business man. I have heard him making up names to hide behind to get others.
I will take what you call "preach boys" any day if the week over someone I cannot believe nor trust, who feels it is just fine to embarrass our country on an international stage, who would talk to young Boy Scouts in such a disgusting manner.
Your value system is surely not the same as mine. I value ethics, and honesty...you think that is being a "preachy boy"
You find me irrational, yet support a person who is delusional even by the opinions of his biographers. You find me irrational, but support opinions on here that began with lies, either in Fox or sites like the Russian links often given. You find me irrational because I support our country, it's institutions and believe in statesmanship. You find me irrational basically because I cannot support an extremely irrational man, who instead of leading our country like a President would lead young boys in chants maligning others.
You find those actions rational, we can never agree.
By the way..you won't respond but what does this mean from your post...."I didn't like that some punk kid could have been the ex Presidents son". What does that mean

GRACIE....you make my point for me. If my assumption is right, THIS IS CLASSIC ALT RIGHT CONSPIRACY THEORY., but then again, I am irrational as accused by Gracie
Since I do not frequent the junk heap of websites, I never realized that the remark you made in seriousness about an ex Presidents son, or as you said..."some young punk kid could have been the ex Presidents son". Then again, Gracie did not like hate...hmmm
Either you refer to Jeb Bush in a strange manner, or as I suspect you refer to a SATIRE piece about an OBama son.
As I said, won't even try to compete with the insane erratic alt right extremists conspiracy theories.
Rubicon actually used the Onion as a source as I think you are doing here, and I suggest both of you listen up to reality. You are living in one of those alternate realities that Trump has created his entire life, do you not miss reality ?
If you refer to a satire piece, you have reached the basement...if I am wrong please correct and I will apologize.
The use of the word "grotesque" might be correct
For those who may not be aware...ONION is a satire site. They are like Saturday Night Live online. A few Trump supporters actually believe what they read on this site WHEN IT DEMEANS SOMEONE and have referenced it as truth. This is maybe the link to what Gracie is speaking of in her post. Obama's 19-Year-Old Son Makes Rare Appearance At DNC - The Onion - America's Finest News Source (http://www.theonion.com/article/obamas-19-year-old-son-makes-rare-appearance-at-dn-29458)
Again, if shown wrong I will apologize but as they say...this ain't the first time.

While you continue to nail the POTUS for being the malignant narcissist that he is, I almost missed Graceless' ignorant 'punk kid' comment... if you had not pointed it out.
It's obvious why GG needs to have a little clique and 600+ friends on here, as she is extremely insecure in her own limited knowledge of anything of substance and she's about as smart as a dull rock...when it comes to anything approaching an intellectual level.
But I am totally baffled and intrigued by her statement...
I didn't like that some punk kid could have been the ex president's son.
So come on GG, come back and explain exactly what you meant by such an ignorant and asinine comment and tell us of whom you were referencing...if you dare.
Especially given that the FLOTUS could easily be said, to be a publicity slut who has no problem taking her clothes off...for magazines and the world.
More than likely though, you'll be seeking help from a blizzard of PM's to your bully clique and hope they change the subject and try to chum with red herring...because you are loony tunes for even saying such a stupid thing. :ohdear:

"The Republicans have become the party of the grotesque" the topic
The fact of the matter is politics is grotesque, always has been and always will be.
But what is different now is that all politicians devise/drive policy decisions based on the polls (purely for self interests) and that in itself is sheer madness. To truly serve "we the people"has been lost in the equation
so what is different now is that this nation has no real leaders in either party. A leader brings people together to make coherent and responsible policies that advance a nation. a true leader serves people and purpose and not self interests
The choice facing voters in 2016 was between bad and worse. Voters choice was a signal for a change in direction.
All governments are immoral, that is, not concerned about right or wrong but only in control and power.
The difference is on how they go about controlling their citizens ( force, regulations, hand outs, etc).
The American Establishment ( Deep State/Federal Government/Globalist) did not want Trump elected because he preaches nationalism capitalism, removal of regulations, etc all the things that make it more difficult for a government to control people.
And so they pit people against themselves to keep them occupied while they go about their plans to gain tighter control. Its all noise to obfuscate their true intent.
And as freedoms are lost the succeeding generations know no better because you can't miss what you never had
The founding fathers have to be turning over in their graves watching today's politician sabotaging our Article of Freedom Declaration of Independence, US Constitution and Bill of Rights
Essentially we are witnessing the end product of the dumbing down of America that began in the 1960's

It is a shame there is no more "middle ground" anymore. The Democrats, Progressives, Leftists have coalesced into a group which has been co-opted into a movement which seeks to destroy American values which have made the US the greatest nation on earth. Meanwhile the Republican party has become a bureaucratic morass which is only interested in being liked by the left and special interests groups which will send them back to D.C. each year.
Does America have problems? Yes, but having traveled and worked around the world it is still the best nation on earth.
Is America Racist? NO, but it does have those individuals who would divide us by using racially charged rhetoric.
WAKE UP. Look at what individuals and organizations or groups are saying and doing and what their agenda is. It is not the betterment of America. It is the transforming of America into a globalist, socialist entity ruled by unelected bureaucrats who are not answerable to the people of this nation.
AM I DREAMING? NO. Just look a the EU. Venezuela, and all the other socialist utopias which are failing around the world. Do we truly want to be like them... If they are so great I would ask these purveyors of the new world order why You aren't living there?

The Republican party, which I served for many years, no longer represents ANY values that I care about .
I valued small government, small budget, but most importantly the Republican party stood for (at least in my mind) HONESTY, TRUTH FULLNESS, CHARACTER, AND MORALS.
Those traits have gone by the way side. It is now a party that promotes conspiracy theories, personal attack politics, and condones the seat of our government lying to the american public and debasing american institutions.
This is not meant as a support post for liberalism, just an experienced Republican replying to your post to make them the good guy and they are not.
YES, I agree we need more middle ground and statesman, but in this specific and present situation, we are not going to have it because the party has sold out to the extremists.

IMO the post that you responded to was well written and thought out. Not sure where you get from his post (or maybe a her, sorry don't know) that he was trying to make the Republican party the good guy as you say. It seemed to me that he was calling out both parties, and politics in general, as the culprits in bringing down our society. I couldn't agree with him more. It would be interesting to hear from you, not just what you don't like about the Republican party, but what you don't like about the Democrat Party. It seems that much of your posting is very one-sided, although you call yourself an independent. Hasn't the Democrat party also sold out to extremist ideology? Are you suggesting that they don't lie, lack morals, or participate in personal attacks as you say the Republican party does? Seems to me that neither party has sole ownership of these traits.

POST 3 from this thread......from me
"However both parties are getting so extreme. Democrats have no leader per se to give direction and are rudderless.....Republicans also have no leader but they own the WH which can be either a blessing or a curse and only time will tell."
POST 5 from the thread called...."Trump policies"
"The President, both this one and the previous one simply are not even making the effort. Since BOTH parties are now controlled by extreme wings who see each other as enemies rather than co workers, we are stuck with a lot of yapping, hating and personal attacks instead of legislation.
Just two but I have been advocating this on a number of threads.
On this forum, it appears not liking Trump gets you selective reading of your posts and a lot of assumptions.
PS...Do you selectively also analyze the posts from Rubicon who blames every malady in the world on anyone progressive or democrat...who believes everything is a conspiracy against Trump, or everyone who will not accept lying from our President, along with outrageous unsubstantiated accusations of felonies, and firing of anyone who gets close to questioning him, or are they taboo.
Oh and this comment..."The Democrats, Progressives, Leftists have coalesced into a group which has been co-opted into a movement which seeks to destroy American values which have made the US the greatest nation on earth." got my attention as one blaming millions of NON Republican AMERICANS for destroying the values of honesty, etc while watching a Republican president lie to us each day and accuse others of atrocities. That did get my attention for sure.

Gotcha....thanks for the reply. I did miss those and I apologize. The poster had specifically outed the Republicans as well but i see where you are coming from with your last quote above. You do realize however that is the very reason Trump pulled in so many Democrat votes in blue states. At least many conservative and moderate Dems that I know saw it that way and said "no more" and voted for Trump. Being in one of those states, it was a shock to see and especially when the results came in on election night.
Since you brought up Rubicon, I have often wondered why you berate him almost everytime he posts, but I don't see you doing the same to those on the other side even though they have called Trump supporters various vile names. Isn't that also collective categorizing? As far as why I don't call him out is because he stands for what he stands for and he doesn't call out individuals by name on here. Even if I may not agree with him on everything, I respect him for acting like a gentleman. I'm not afraid of people having different views than mine. What I am fearful of is people who are not tolerant of mine and make it a point to try to shut me down because of it. (This is not necessarily directed at you, just trying to make a point.)

(This is not necessarily directed at you, just trying to make a point.)
oK......
First, allow me to copy and paste my terrible post you alluded to...
"The Republican party, which I served for many years, no longer represents ANY values that I care about .
I valued small government, small budget, but most importantly the Republican party stood for (at least in my mind) HONESTY, TRUTH FULLNESS, CHARACTER, AND MORALS.
Those traits have gone by the way side. It is now a party that promotes conspiracy theories, personal attack politics, and condones the seat of our government lying to the american public and debasing american institutions.'
I keep saying it over and over, the same tune, and nobody disagrees with me HOWEVER they jump to come up with some sort of reason......
Trump is a liar....plain and simple. I do not want a President who is not a liar on policy (hell, I would give him a break on that), but lies on things that do not require lying, especially if he needs to make HIM, not the country look good. Heck, as a Republican how can you not notice he refers to his own party as THEY...which is insulating him from any responsibility.
He has proven over and over, not just in his first 200 days but in the campaign and in his past life...ALL of it, that he cannot be trusted. THAT is not a president I want.
Next on the same agenda.....the poster to which I replied said how the VALUES of our country were being destroyed by the Democrats. Now, there may be cases where I might agree with that poster, but as always it is a completely generic and general condemnation of millions of Americans which I have a problem with. AND with no mention of those destruction of values by the current President...not sure where to start...I always repeat these and nobody denies them.....how is it american values to publicly and on a worldwide stage demean our American Justice department, and even his own attorney General, his own intelligence agencies, firing THREE employees including the FBI director for having the audacity to investigate, he has demeaned amost every american value that we have. AND this is important.....he does it on a world stage...wherever sees it. i will stop and not mention the latest stuff, one of which...the use of boy scouts to chant his name...obliterates all kinds of American values.
ok..Rubicon......I mention him for a few reasons. First he is a prolific poster and most importantly he PREACHES DAY IN AND DAY OUT...all hate filled. You would think that ONLY he and those who totally agree have all the answers. I am sick of being labeled with some kind of syndrome that infects ONLY those who disagree with him. He has used Russian websites to make his point,; he has plagarized on more than one occassion, and yet he continues to lecture. He refuses to discuss any issues. I have challanged him by starting threads non anti Trump...simply on Syria, ISIS and a few others and he will not participate....he simply lectures and tells everyone that will listen how smart HE and Trump are and how all the latest conspiracy theories are all right.
He does this all with NEVER EVER EVER any substantiation.
I can tell you that I may be critical but I go out of my way to show WHY with links, etc.
He accuses the media of lying....why ? He has never shown anything to prove it, and is simply mouthing the words of Trump...you know the guy who represents the best of American values.
Sorry if criticizing him is offensive...of course I never get called names or anything, and I do not have his fan base of trolls who typically respond....GOOD POST.
Look, maybe you can tell, I am sick of the conspiracy theories (syndromes, Deep state, etc) that emanate from the deep hole of internet world. I am sick of being told how wonderful a person is who simply does not care that he is demeaning all of us to the world...FROM THE OVAL OFFICE.
This is an administration of hate and alt right. While I agree with many of the appointments he has made, and really think Kelly might help.
BOTTOM LINE....I do not want to be lectured by people on american values while supporting the lying and deception from the White House. All self serving and not for the benefit of the country. What President has an attitude about our country being attacked by cyber by attacking the group investigating what happened, or firing the FBI or welcoming that country into the White House and inviting ONLY Russian media there. Trust me, I believe in American Values....I believe in middle ground and I believer in compromise, and tired of being lectured about values by those who support a complete lack thereof.

I'm getting the gist of your concerns and your desire to not be lectured......totally understandable. And I'm sorry if I have participated in that - it reminds me of my husband's kind warnings - it's not what you're asking/saying, it's your tone. So maybe I need to watch my tone here as my desire is not to be offensive or to offend. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Hopefully we can continue on a better footing from here on out.

"since you brought up Rubicon" I don't know who (you) is? And since I do not know (you) must be on my ignore list. and if (you) is on my ignore list then it means that (you) in my humble opinion has nothing of substantive value to offer.
I am on this forum to share and to learn. I am not interested in defending myself to adolescent posters whose only intent is to cause mischief. It doesn't matter what [t]hey say about me. Other posters either agree or disagree with my comments. that's fine and that is what makes the world go around. Live and let live

You live in LaLa land. YOu are the biggest violator on here and you have the audacity to act like your only concern is a civil discussion. WHen have you EVER/EVER been civil .
Never mind, I just popped in to see if anything has changed. Obviously not. You bash the president and use a different heading for the thread, but the same exact B.S.

Of course you are. It's the only way you get your floor cleaned. I'm always available to set a liar and hypocrite straight when they make blatant comments about how civil they wish the discussion to be, when they are as nasty as you are on a daily basis.
Carry on, knowing that you are not fooling anyone with your dumb @ss comments on being civil.
Sorry, I won't be able to read your response. I don't plan on being on here on a consistant basis since you do not wish to discuss politics. I see that there are no NEW items of interst threads started. I guess you can't find links of news to start new threads so you just put some juvenile title on the same continuing disparagement of the President. What a bunch of losers.
Better go look for your next victim for 2020. At the rate you all are going, there will be NO Democrat party before long. You have no one to run in the next presidential. I hope you choose PokaNotUs or Crazy wig Waters. At least your loss will be entertaining.
Adios sucker.

You didn't even bother to look who posted, proceeded to rip into your own butt-buddy in lies, conspiracies and idiocy...and you expect me not to laugh at your knee-jerk ignorance? :22yikes:

You have finally seen the light and now you're leaving? But just like Tal is too weak to not peek, you're not going anywhere.
