Good morning. I was told there is a Viking River Cruises representative here in The Villages but I can't find it. Could someone point me to the right place? Thank you.

you might try Cruise and Tour, 352-753-9699, Palm Ridge Plaza off 466 and its golf cart accessible.

We are outside agents and I know they have a Viking Cruise specialist.

Thanks again, but that number doesn't work and there's no website for Cruise and Travel. Do you happen to have their card so you could double-check?

I don't know if this is the travel company you are referring to, but we've used "Anchors Away Cruises & Tours" and are very satisfied with their personal service. We've talked with Shirley Karzen (352-600-0956) when we were considering our Rhine River cruise a couple of years ago and she provided some really great advice and comparison materials between the various river cruise companies operating in Europe. We've used her when we booked our Alaska land and cruise trip, and again this summer to book our bus tour of the U.S. western national parks. They have a mini-office in Walmart on 466, and have their main office just west of the 466 Walmart parking lot/garden center.

We booked a cruise at the AAA office in Spanish Springs. The representative was very knowledgeable, friendly and we enjoyed the process!

We have used cruisecompete.com and twice came up with the best deal from Crown Cruise in Princeton NJ. You won't get a better price on Viking with any agent but the agent can give you extras. We just booked the Grand European cruise through them and we received $600 on board credit plus complementary travel insurance. If you know somebody who previously took a Viking cruise, or is booked on one, you can receive $100 refer a friend credit on the fare and the person you named will also receive $100 off on next cruise. We gave a husband and wife who just came back from a cruise and received $200 off.

All the river cruise lines are good and Viking is the best known But after sailing on a few of the lines I can tell you Scenic is the most superior. One example is an open bar not selected wines at supper.

Thank you jswintberg for that excellent information. I hadn't heard of Cruisecompete so I just went to their website and it looks very interesting. I'll dig deeper tomorrow. And Mirage thanks to you too. I'll have to see if Superior has a China trip because that's where we want to go first. From what I've seen online Viking River Cruises seems to be well organized and offers everything we want, but they do seem to be rigid in their fares and a little demanding in their attitude, but I guess they know what they're doing.

Check out Scenic Cruise line. They have Asian cruises and as I mentioned they are even superior to Viking.

Thank you Mirage. I think this is the cruise line you recommended. It's completely deluxe! 5-Star Luxury River Cruises - Fly FREE Offers
