I heard these planes approaching my house, and grabbed my camera as the engines sounded unusual. I'm sure one of our Fly Boys will be able to name the plane type, I have no idea

B-17?

I think the one on the left is a B-29 because the wings appear longer than a B-17.
Can't really tell what the one on the right is,
but it is low wing and doesn't look to be military
They possibly could be returning from Oshkosh air show!
After a little more research, the one on the right looks to be a T-28 Trojan trainer!

Hi shrandell,
I showed your pictures to Mr. Boomer. He said it is hard to tell, but he has Oshkosh pictures of B-29s on his phone and he is looking at them now. (I am sorry that I don't know how to get those pictures on here, but maybe twoplane has pictures, too.)
You might have seen one of only two B-29s that are flying now.
Here's Mr. Boomer........
FIFI and Doc (of the 7 Dwarfs) are the only 2 B-29s that have been restored to airworthy condition. They flew at Oshkosh together for the first time a couple weeks ago. At first glance I thought your picture was of a B-17, also a 4-engine WWII bomber, but I'm starting to think it's one of the B-29s.

could be Russian TU 154M, under the Treaty of Open Skies. It flew over Washington yesterday

Both Doc and FIFI should not be in Florida at this time. So, it's more than likely a B-17. If I could hear the sound of the engines I could tell for sure. It was a rare treat to see both fly this year at Oshkosh with my son and two grandsons.

The unusual sound you heard was a "radial engine". Love that powerful sound.

And what makes it an extra special sound,
is that there are 4 very powerful radial engines running in unison!
