What are your thoughts on the Enrichment Academy? There appears to be a wealth of informative topics. Did you attend the open house preview at Lake Sumter Landing? Have you registered for a class?

I think this will be an excellent addition to the recreation offerings in TV. It is always healthy to stretch the brain and wake up those neurons! The cost seems to be minimal and covers the instructor's fees. I am not affiliated with the program and am interested in your opinions. Thoughts?:coolsmiley:

I think having classes in the middle of the day isn't good. I'd love to take the photography class but it's on Thursday afternoons. I work and was hoping that they would be after dinner. My main complaint about the Villages is everything I'm interested in happens during the day. I'd love to see things likesoftball , picklebal etc... played under the lights....oops no ligjts

Most things here require volunteers and I believe they prefer to do that during the day. I would assume if someone was willing to teach the photography course in the evening it could be arranged, also assuming there were enough folks that want to take it in the evening. That's not a Villages issue, the lights on the other hand are.

I waited one day to register after they opened registration and several classes were full and one only allowed me to waitlist. I wish I had jumped on it sooner.

My wife and I were at the open house shortly after it opened, grabbed a brochure, selected two classes and jumped in the quickly growing line. We stood there for about an hour and a half and did manage to get into both classes. While saving a place in line, we each took turns to go out and talk to the instructors. We're looking forward to the classes. Things like this were part of why we were excited to move to The Villages this year and had been dismayed when the Learning Center (or whatever it was called) was closed due to the lawsuit. I wish both sides had handled that better as it seems like the selection of classes now is pretty light compared to what they used to offer.

This is the first session for the district. Perhaps they wanted to start slowly to get the bugs identified and fixed before enlarging the offerings. I'm thrilled they stepped up and created this to replace the LLC.
