Hello - I am looking for suggestions on how to keep from scratching our tile floors with bar stool chairs or any other furniture which moves a lot. I have used sliders in the past, felt, etc. I will be sitting at the kitchen bar a lot and I am already experiencing the grind as I move the chair in and out. I am not opposed to sliders or felt, etc.

Additionally, any suggestions for the scuff marks I will be making on the wall as I sit at the kitchen bar - brand new home owner here...

I agree with the felt sliders, be sure your furniture tips are clean before you apply these.

Also, we had tile installed on the knee wall for just that reason, my step son did the tiling, and a very nice job. Has done work for several neighbors also.

I had a problem getting the felt the right size and to stay on. I went to Walmart and Dollar Tree and purchased baby socks in wild colors and patterns for all my chairs. I admit I'm a bubble off level, but I love them.

Take notes of what you have. Measure the ends of the legs and count number. Go to LOWES they have a full section of sliders caps etc.

As to damaging the walls with your chairs. You may want to look at protective molding-wood molding. You might want to install rubber or plastic bumpers on the part of the chairs that hits the wall. Your chairs may be in the wrong place. You may need to move the lights to accommodate your plan.

I mentioned LOWES because they have the widest collection of this kind of thing in the Villages-based on when we went looking for these things.

As to my suggestion for molding, since this stuff gets damaged in stock, check on the internet as to what is in stock. You may find you need to have it shipped to the store. I ordered 2-3 pieces of 1/4 round molding from Home depo. The cost for the entire order was like nine dollars and there was no charge to have it shipped to the store. Surely, they lost money on that sale but, we are good customers at Home depo, Lowes and Sparr is another good place.
