Yamaha G29 oil in gas line/carb

2011 Yamaha Drive is hesitating severely when accelerating from a dead stop and low speed. Suspect oil in gas line/carb is the possible problem. How does one confirm this is the issue, and if it is, how to correct it?

I would lean to a fuel pump issue, disconnect line from pump to carb and check for fuel pressure and oil content.
