"When 5 policemen were gunned down in Dallas last year, President Obama said there was no justification for violence against law enforcement BUT THEN ADDED a comment about racial inequality in the justice system
After violent demonstrators pillaged Baltimore in 2015 following the death of a black man in police custody. Obama dutifully condemned the rioters BUT NOT WITHOUT also noting that we have seen too many instances of what appears to be police officers interacting with individuals, primarily African-Americans, often poor, in ways that raise troubling questions
Obama attempts to advance black interests through heightened group identity and us-against them rhetoric didn't help. he embraced openly anti-white groups like black Lives Matters and racially polarizing figures like Al Sharpton"
Jason Riley WSJ 8/16/17
Obama laid the foundation for the racial divisiveness that this nation is experiencing now.
The Trump haters smell blood with the Charlottesville incident and they are going for the juggler. Hollywood's diatribes are no surprise because most of those folks are unhinged

Putting the Obama years aside, when are you going to admit that electing Donald Trump was a huge mistake? I mean, there were some excellent conservative choices to be made among the many candidates who sought the Republican nomination and, yet, the party chose someone who was quite possibly the worst prepared candidate in history.
Will you continue to support him even though he just doesn't seem to have a clue about how to bring our nation together?
Is it okay with you to have such a divisive person in charge of our nuclear codes, our military, and our nation's reputation?
I am not a snowflake liberal. I served my nation for over 20 years in the US Army and I take very seriously my oath to support and defend the Constitution. I was a supporter of Ronald Reagan as President and I wish that we could find someone like him again who could raise the level of discourse among Americans of differing philosophical beliefs.
But, I can't in any good conscience, support this current President. He is divisive, he is a pathological liar, and he has proven to be disloyal to his wives, his business associates, and his own chosen members of his team.
How can you morally, philosophically, or otherwise continue to support this joke of a President?

Cannot say much about this post except....
Well said and accurate, and thank you.
Rubicon worships Trump. If you notice this evening he posted that he (Trump) was probably elected too late. That tells you why he is identifies as a white nationalist who will be in the Trump side no matter what.
Thanks again for a great post.

Thanks for the props but I know I'm tilting at windmills. I just can't understand why people support this ill-prepared person as the leader of our nation. It's like comparing him to some of our worst examples of presidents like Warren Harding or Franklin Pierce. Why they compare him to Obama is beyond me.
You don't like Obama? Fine. Your don't like Bush II? Fine.
But, don't you think we should be looking for the better part of ourselves? If you want to seek the higher moral ground, why align yourself with someone who represents the lowest of moral standards? I just don't get it.
Sadly, I suspect that Rubicon is a reasonably intelligent person. I further suspect that he would like to represent his point of view in the most positive way possible. Why he continues to support Trump is something I'll never understand.

Well, let's talk about Obama's failures if that's how you'd like to divert this discussion. I'm more than willing to acknowledge that Obama was an average President at best. But how does that compare to the ****storm that this current President has unleashed?
So, enlighten me...what are the Obama's failures (or other presidential failures) that you'd like to bring up? Because, frankly, I'm not an Obama supporter. Should I also mention that I am not a Clinton supporter?
My only claim is that I love my country and would like to see a leader who is able to lead. Because, like it or not, our nation has become a very diverse and multi-cultured nation. It's too late to put that toothpaste back in the tube. So how is our current President dealing with that?
Okay, now it's your turn.

I guess I just don't get the argument that because of a belief that the previous administration was severely flawed, it is better to have a philandering, egotistical, and poorly prepared individual to lead this country than it would have to to support a candidate that represented the best of American ideals?
Are you suggesting that the Republican Party couldn't find someone of strong moral character with conservative credentials that could have been a good or even great national leader?

Look...you have to get used to this in here.
If you ask any of these white nationalist why they support Trump, and you will get a screen full of OBama and Clinton, and not much more of anything else.
They support his ignorance, his recklessness, his total and complete lack of honesty and morals, his attack on all US institutions and despite his motto, his tearing down of American principles. But they can only say OBama and/or Clinton and NOTHING MORE

They had any number of them during the primaries but not one could compete with the trolling affect of Donald John Trump. He just insulted his way to the regular election against Hillary Clinton who would have won if not for Anthony Weiner's sexting or whatever that was. And the Russians of course and their organized hacking against Clinton. They did not want a very strong leader to deal with.

First thank you for your service.
Secondly by now you should recognize that some posters have their favorites and will back them up to the hilt. these mutual admiration society types are easily identifiable.
Still other posters have set their sights on destroying another poster's every word. I have a collection of the second type and they have been relegated to my ignore list.
I view you as being neither. So I will say it again. My purpose is not to defend Trump. I have stated innumerable times on these pages that I do not like his style, etc. Indeed some of his antics only feeds the critcisms
My purpose is directed at doing my part as a citizen to stop the madness of the identity politic of the left because it is damaging this nation
While I do not like Trump idiosyncrasies I do like that we do not have Hillary Clinton as our president.
Trump is a means to an end. His agenda indeed will return America to its greatness. I certainly do wish another Republican candidate had the same ideas and drive as Trump but none did .
I have been watching some of Leah Remini series on Scientology on A&E. It suddenly occurred to me that the Scientology's policies to discredit critics be they individuals, news media, IRS was a plan of disinformation, intimidation, false and harmful narratives all meant to destroy and silence any critics is MUCH OF WHAT THE #NEVERTRUMP MOVEMENT has been doing to Trump in their attempt to resist and hopefully impeach this guy.
The real enemy is identity politics and it is deeply embedded into the left and this faction of the Democratic party is carrying us to socialism, secularism and internationalism. Its why Robert E.Lee and Thomas Jefferson has to go. its why white heterosexual male are the enemy. this faction of the Democratic party are doing exactly what leaders in a totalitarian country do. One of their motto's is "the past is never predictable"
So its not Trump I defend but the solitary idea he promotes of America First. if he doesn't win this nation is lost to the likes of the Al Sharpton's, Michael Moore's Nancy Pelosi's ..Now that's scary

Trump is doing a great job, in spite of hindrances from both sides. We finally have a president that does not need the job or care whether or not he gets reelected, and has a goal of doing exactly what he was elected to do. He is actually one political electee that is attempting to fulfill what he promised. Only the radical, and never satisfied liberals and the political elite that worry about their jobs want him to fail. He is basically the gun slinger hired to clean up a corrupt town, only to be ostracized for how he does his job and then run out of town by the embarrassed town council once he has done their dirty work for them. He has a major job to do in order to correct the damage of the last 8 years. Not one person or celebrity has made a valid comment about how Trump is accomplishing his goals. Not one VALID comment. All you hear is how mean and hateful he is. All lies because no one has presented any evidence of these accusations. The left ONLY attacks Trump based on his personality, not his work or his policies. Why? Because they cannot win an argument based on his job performance, only on how he fits in as a celebrity president, in comparison to the last loser and wannabe entertainer-in-chief.

You see, this is what I don't understand. Many of my right-leaning friends say the same thing; Trump has "idiosyncrasies". Everyone has idiosyncrasies. It's just that Trump's are of the extreme nature.
You don't make America great by boasting about being able to grab women by their genitals. You don't make America great by insulting the military service of a true hero. You don't make America great by insulting everyone who disagrees with you.
You make America great by pulling people together to solve problems, to at least try to make the American dream reachable by even the least of our brothers and sisters. By words and deeds, Trump has failed to achieve those goals. He is dividing Americans rather than uniting them.
You can blame the media or Hollywood or left-wing radicals if you wish but the man's words and actions speak loudly to his lack of good character.
I'm a Midwesterner. We don't take kindly to people who boast about their greatness; we look for their greatness in how they live their lives and how they treat other people.
And, finally, I'm pretty tired of hearing about how white heterosexual men have suddenly become a victimized class. That's a joke, right?

I don't read posts on the political page very often so I may not be aware of the facts you speak of. Mostly, I just hear or read people's opinions about what a good or bad job the President is doing.
I may be alone in this, but I expect my elected officials to be both moral and political leaders. I did not and would not support Hillary Clinton as President because I think she lacks the necessary moral character to be the leader of our country. I did not and will not support Donald Trump for the exact same reason.
I could never, in good conscience, be able to explain to my children that I am willing to support a man who cheats on his wives, who insults military heroes, and who turns against his friends and allies as quickly as this President does.
Therefore, despite any facts you may wish to post in support of this President, I could never become a follower.

You DON'T make America great by using quotas to place minorities and women into positions they are not suited for.
Yes...and you MUST speak the TRUTH in order to solve the problems. If you can't admit to certain truths...you'll never SOLVE a problem.
So...why are you not against an expanding minority population? Tell me about all the great deeds the blacks as a people contribute. Tell me about the black villages, the black MIT...black geniuses like Newton and Einstein.
EXPLAIN their ACTIONS...how they destroy schools...name a 90% black successful school...a 50% black...30% black...25% black school you'd send your granddaughter to. EXPLAIN how EVERY neighborhood that is 90% black is dirty and dangerous. EVERY neighborhood that is 50% black...30% black...25% black. NONE are like the villages...not a single one. Why? EXPLAIN how EVERY independent black country is at the bottom of world rankings.
Blacks ARE a different species, the genetics proves it...they are called our equals for POLITICAL reasons. They are being PROTECTED from slavery.

You're delusional if you think ANY of our upper level "leaders" are moral in ANY sense of the word. They work for those who paid to get them elected. They work for the party. YOU/WE are nothing more than the bill payer and someone who needs placation with social gestures and to be kept in the dark.
Good for you Jim...now we need to convince the REST of the brainwashed voters that BOTH sides are EVIL...there is NO "lesser" evil. A "choice" between two handpicked "candidates" (corrupt thieves) is NO CHOICE at all.
You hate him...but for all the wrong reasons...those are what the media feeds you...they leave out the $ hundreds of billions that's being funneled to the corporations and therefore the wealthy. Even "welfare" ends up in the hands of the corporations/wealthy. The people use their EBT/SNAP card to buy Kraft, Tyson, Hormel, and other's products. These companies are always lobbying for MORE welfare benefits. $5,000,000,000 a MONTH is paid to people by the government to buy food. Most is the prepackaged ready to heat variety. JP Morgan runs the EBT card program. Over a $ trillion a year is spent on welfare. It doesn't stay long in the pockets of the poor.
I hate them all... You ARE new here aren't you?

Sure a president that can unite the nation would be great. Obamma divided the nation from the start and continued throughout the 8 years. Now the media and dems are non stop attacking Trump. They want to fuel the fires...
What petty differences are you speaking of, give me an example of how Obamma handled one well.
I don't believe Trump is doing a mediocre job.
Trump is addressing much of what I would consider important, unlike Obamma...
