Do not use Push-n-go for lawn service. Paid them $500.00 for a year in April. They have not cut grass in 3 weeks and i Can not get ahold of them- Goodby $500.00

No long term contracts and never pay in advance for anything--if a company needs up front $$ to fund their operations--their days are numbered--this has been mentioned numerous times, you should have taken heed a long time ago

There are several businesses in the are that are known to be total ripoffs--Tires Plus IMHO is one of the biggest offenders

Why would anyone pay in advance for lawn service?

To get discounts. Many do. With a reputable company, you can save a few bucks.

Don't pay in advance for expensive construction/improvement projects. But for small scale, ongoing maintenance type work, it's not as much of a never-pay-in-advance situation as some would have you believe. Just do your homework and trust the company you're dealing with.

Exactly. The same as with many pest prevention and lawn fertilization companies.

Remember the company before service smart--how many people were taken on the ride-never too big to fail

How do I find a good lawn service. I know some people will say look at the classifieds, however the ratings aren't really reliable because if they do something good they get 5 stars (and many of the employees 5 star their company of course), however if they do a bad job then seniors are afraid to write it because they do not want retribution. I thought about asking neighbors however it seems I live in the green thumb section of TV.

Have you thought about just looking at the lawns in your neighborhood and seeing which ones look the best and observe the service doing the work (see if the workers really care)? A good lawn service has to make you happy not others.

Go to Seniors vs Crime (352-750-1914) and file with them. They will follow up for you. They are in Brownwood next to the Theater in the Police Anex office.:mornincoffee:
