View Full Version : Obama's top priority is health care reform....

yet our number one problem is the economy and jobs. Right behind this one is the war in Afghanistan.

Health care for all it's ills (that is only 2/3 of a pun, P-U:o)) is acceptable to over 85% of we the people (that used to portend a majority once upon a time!).

The economy is far, far, FAR worse off and affecting many more of we the people.....yet it does not have the same priority for Obama.

We are on the brink of losing the war in Afghanistan. Commanders are asking for more troops to shift the momentum.....yet the war, the request is back burnered (and put on hold.....really!?!?!?!?) by Obama.

So, any party, anybody please tell me do you agree with Obama's priorities? And please include why.

My opinion? He is not addressing the issues with any priority what so ever.
I personally believe he has chosen health care reform because it is something he perceives can be ram rodded and when passed.....not implemented....PASSED.... he will have bragging rights to the greatness he has performed that none before him has been able to do. Implementation and results are out in time beyond his ability to remain POTUS (2012?). Accountability is not an issue he will not be around.

Fixing the economy? Now that is one that has to show results sometime during his remaining term. We all know, as he does, he cannot ram rod fixing the economy. He knows he would have to do something real and finite and explicit with improving results........ while he is still in office....hence he is not as keen on pursuing that option. And maybe, just maybe things will get better, like they always have in the past. And if he is lucky enough for it to happen while he in still in office....he will then too brag what he did to make it happen.

The war(s)? He has a conflict of interest. A POTUS cannot want to be the nice guy in the WH to all foreign countries, friends and now foes and do what it takes to win the wars in Afghanistan as well as the one we don't hear much about these days, Iraq. Hence he is doing nothing.... but telling his commanders to stand pat. I didn't know a war could be put on hold.....how amazing is that!!!!!!

And I must take my usual shot at the network media...how is it with all their investigative capability, and input from we the people, they are not raising the issue of priorities? They are in tune to promoting health care reform...what a coincidence!

Those are my opinions.....I will make the request that has been made repeatedly on this forum to no avail....if you support his priorities let's hear why? And of course any other perspectives on his priorities are as important.

i agree with you completely that his priority is not the welfare of the united states but only that government be made bigger and bigger until we are living in a socialist or even communist society....is it crazy for me to hope that maybe hilary clinton, whom i would not have voted for either but at least i know she does love america (see my post about sarah palin), may at last get so fed up with what is happening, how we are looking weak to our enemies, how we are stabbing our allies in the back in europe, how we are cow-towing to iran and russia...supporting the return of a dictator in latin america, etc etc, that she may muster up the courage to confront the administration about some of these things? i cannot believe she is happy with what is happening....we need to hear from her as she does have a bit of weight with the democrats of this country and she may be our best hope. ironic, isn't it?

I agree that there are much more important subjects facing us rather than health care. Yes what a stab in the back to pull out our missle defense promise in Europe. How can we expect our allies in Europe to support us when we keep screwing them. What an idiotic move to pull the one trump card we had against Russia and their pull with Iran.
Yes and now we will cater to the dictators in Latin America. I have a very Liberal gal friend from Velenzuala and even she can't stand Chavez.
Hillary was my second choice for prez but I believe she would have done a better job than present for sure. :beer3::beer3:
