Was west bound on 466 this morning @ 6:35- the sheriff and 2 lanes on the west bound side closed- when I went past there was a golf cart on its roof or what was left of it
Hope the people who were in it survived-it was near the Bonefish
Are carts allowed to cross 466, could not imagine what a cart was doing there--crossing a 6 lane road

Maybe if fell off a trailer that was hauling it somewhere?

IF the intersection is controlled AND IF the cart is an LSV you can cross a road like 466. This comment, I'm sure will bring a host of other folk's thoughts but it's true. I'm so sorry to hear of this accident!!

It must have been a bad accident-there were 3 sheriffs cars securing the scene--if the cart fell off of a truck, it could have been easily removed instead of blocking 2 lanes of 466

There could have been debris, battery acid, gas if a gas cart, etc. and you may have come upon it just as the Sheriff cars arrived.

Everytime someone who's coming down on a LSV or is buying a new home and asks for advice, people always say, "Just take the golf out for a drive and you'll find your way around, that's how I did it." Sometimes you get the grandparent who has the 15 year old visiting and wants to show them a good time, "here's the keys to the golf cart, go have fun". Somebody should mention to look for these signs, usually near busy roads such as Buena Vista and 466.

The number of police cars at a scene is no indication of how bad an accident or incident is. There was a disagreement at the dog park on Moyer Loop a few months back and at one time there were six or seven patrol cars at the scene. I thought there had been a mass murder.

Spoke to the Sheriff's office this morning, it was an accident caused by a cart driver trying to elude police

A cart driver trying to elude police? Sounds like one not very smart cookie.

Yes...this is correct! It was a slow-chase situation after a robbery. Most thieves aren't all that smart!

And not a word of it in any paper or on the unmentionable news site

A police officer often has no more information then we have.
Overturned golf cart in the middle of......... They do not or may not know if it fell off a carrier, if the driver had a medical emergency, was driving drunk, on drugs etc. Regular practice is to show up with overwhelming force. A criminal might well challenge ONE cop. The result is the cop and or the criminal will be hurt. Six cops show up and the criminal will usually realize he/she/it does not stand a chance.
RE: Blocking lanes
A golf cart, assuming it is gas powered, has up six gallons of gasoline-oh and a battery to ignite it.
BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY-DON'T YOU THINK?

Did you not read the comments....it was a golf-cart in a slow chase with law officials and somehow the cart turned over. Who knows how?? Not sure why this wouldn't be in the news but law enforcement folks many times have reasons so it's an "as needed to know" kind of situation.
