A few of our golf group stopped for lunch after our round today. As we drove into the parking lot I noticed a fire truck parked nearby. It appeared to be off duty, no flashing lights, but still caused a little concern. Anyway we ended up being seated next to four fire fighters also having lunch.

At some point our server turned to the fire fighter's table and said (with a big smile in her voice) “By the way fellows, one of our customers has paid for all your meals. No checks for you today”

Needless to say the four were surprised and grateful. They quizzed her a little but she held firm as whoever had picked up the tab wished to remain anonymous. As the four left you could see an extra spring in their step and they continued to chat about what had just happened.

It left us with a good feeling and even a little proud of what took place, even though our only connection was our seating location.

If the person who picked up the check happens to read this, you are very special!

Just wanted to share one little story from America’s Friendliest Hometown. :)

So happy to hear these heart-warming stories about our great hometown! All the crazies seem to grab the attention but there are so many good Samaritans here and so many that do random acts of kindness everyday for others! Kudos to the people you paid their bill!

Was this Thursday at Fiesta Grande? We were eating when four firefighters came in and sat nearby. The place was packed by the time we left. It's nice to see something like this happen.

That is wonderful!

How about we do this for the guys from Waste Management too.? After all they do a necessary job each week....how about we give them some gift certificates for a nice meal.

lets stop forgetting everyone else besides cops and fireman that make our life comfortable and safe.

They do deserve our thanks. I have left unopened bottle of water for them on hot days. There is a difference, they are not going to run into a burning building for you or step in front of a bullet like fire or police men or women.

I guess the best way to approach this is to be respectful of all the folks that provide us a wonderful life here in TV.
