Comcast to offer 137,000 free wifi hot spots for Florida residents

Comcast has announced that they will open 137,000 wifi hot spots for Florida residents during the coming week in anticipation of Hurricane Irma. The hotspots will be available to customers and non-customers alike. Read the complete statement from Comcast:
XFINITY Hotspots
Comcast is opening more than 137,000 XFINITY WiFi hotspots throughout the state to anyone who needs them including non Xfinity residents throughout the state of Florida for free. Please visit XFINITY(R) WiFi by Comcast | Wireless Internet on the Go (http://wifi.xfinity.com/) to locate your nearest hotspots. XFINITY Internet Customers can sign in with their usernames and passwords and they will be automatically connected to XFINITY WiFi hotspots in the future.
Non-XFINITY Internet
Customers should visit the “Not an XFINITY Internet Customer” section on the sign-in page to get started. They will be able to renew their complimentary sessions every 2 hours through September 15, 2017.
Impact to Customers
Customers are encouraged to use the Xfinity My Account App to get outages updates for your area by visiting My.xfinity.com/MyAccount. If local power is returned and there is still no Comcast service, please call us at 1-800-XFINITY (934-6489). Comcast Business customers can visit Comcast Business Services (http://www.business.comcast.com/MyAccount) or check outage status on the Comcast Business app.
Made me think that folks who have the latest and greatest Comcast modem with hotspot capability - and who have turned off that feature - perhaps turning it on for a week or so just might help a neighbor in need of same. Just sayin'.
