We've had a bunch of rain here in St. James; I back up to St. Charles and am right across the street from Southern Star #4; in addition to a golf course view, I now have a water view also; that pond is getting high from all the rain. :a20:

There is a weather station in Gilchrist The Village of Gilchrist | Personal Weather Station: KFLWILDW2 by Wunderground.com (https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KFLWILDW2#history)
He has; Gilchrist 2.16, Buttonwood 2.48, Sanibel 3.11, Duval 3.04. You can go to the link above and on his site he has a map just to the left of the temperature. Click on the little gear labeled 'Icon' in the upper right of the map and select precip and you see all over.

Perhaps the Villages will pay us to turn on our irrigation to lower the ponds

Not kidding. For some reason, we always have a lot of rain. Just drained the gauge again. Five inches! That makes for 15 inches! Don't ask me why-I dunno. But that's what the gauge says. Riht now, 7:26 p.m. coming down in sheets!

Interesting to see how many Weather Underground stations are in The Villages. Weather Forecast & Reports - Long Range & Local | Wunderground | Weather Underground (http://www.wunderground.com). I have not looked at this web site in several years.

Funny. But no sprinklers. Like I said, I don't know why but we always have a lot more rain here than other places in TV.

I would buy a new rain gauge, there is a weather station in Hadley showing an accumulation of 4.2 inches for the entire day.
Fruitland Park, FL Forecast | Weather Underground (https://www.wunderground.com/weather/us/fl/fruitland-park/KFLWILDW26)
There is another one on Gatsby Lane in Hadley showing 4.06 inches all day.

Thanks, but the gauge is pretty basic--plastic from Home Depot. While it was raining too hard to go and empty it, it overflowed, which added another six inches, so 21 inches at least.
It always seems to be pouring at my house when even down the block isn't. Go figure.

In Dunedin, we dumped our rain gauge about 5 PM yesterday and it had 4.5 inches in it. This morning, it had more than 5 inches. How much more? I don't know exactly as it's capacity is only 5 inches. The collector cap was completely full so at leas another half inch. That's 10 full inches plus who knows how much more. That's about in line with the forecast. Still, no flooding in the yards around us and the streets are dry.

Okay. My last report for rain was 15 inches. Then it filled and overflowed at 6 inches, bringing it to 21 inches. I emptied it and got another two inches making a grand total of 23 inches!
I thought I was going nuts (uh, well...), BUT then I spoke to my neighbor who has a pool in his birdcage. He told me he drained eight inches from his pool three times, which, I think, is 24 inches.
So I guess I may be nuts, but not THAT nuts. :spoken:

You seem to be a very good person. Take no offence that I do not go to you for rain accumulation :1rotfl:

No offence taken. But like I said, I felt somewhat vindicated when my neighbor had to drain 24" from his pool. I mean, it's really queer. Our neighborhood just always seems to get more rain than other areas. I would have put out a stainless steel pan to measure the rainfall, but it would have blown through the lanai slider!
I'm at Grovewood villas in Hadley. Are you nearby?
