Florida now has 4.3 million customers without power. Sumter County has the lowest numbers compared to all the other counties in the Orlando viewing area. One reason is probably because so much of TV was built with underground utilities. If you go to the SECO outage map many homes in Wildwood and Fruitland Park have no power, but yet TV have almost no outages. The counties around us like Marion and Lake are reporting 50,000 to 100,000 or more without power.

Ragman, one of my concerns from afar was my DirectTV dish on the roof. Hoping it was not ripped off and took part of roof with it. Hoping everyone in TV stays safe and sound with minimal damage to property!

OK, everyone.....start reporting in.

I live in Sanibel on Fenwick Loop on the large retention pond facing Charlotte Court. The water from the pond is almost in the lanai. Our street is in 3 ft of water. So not driveable. Woke up at 4am to check and was surprised by the rise in water levels. Waiting for sunrise. No water in house yet.

We have downed leaves but not trees. Even our new Crepe Myrtle trees, planted 3 weeks ago, look fine.

No joy in Pine Ridge. Power out since 9:24 PM last night. Leesburg Electric says no crews will go out until it's safe and they only have 13 crews for 23,000 customer outages.

HOORAY!! Power back on in Pine Ridge at 5:28 PM! I cooled down the house to 72 right before we lost power last night and my t-stat only got up to 78 but humidity rose to 65%. Should lose all that in the next couple hours.

No power in Country Club Hills since 10pm last night. Duke told us over the phone that they had no ETA, didn't know what the problem was, and to be prepared to be out for 2 weeks. That made me extremely uneasy. Anyone get power back through Duke yet?

No change in numbers on SECO web site, so I guess it's one big problem that will, when fixed, bring a lot of people back on

I saw a couple of stories about Utility Workers coming out of the Midwest to help restore power in Florida.

The workers were told, plan on two weeks away from home.

Hopefully Florida receives a lot of out-of-state support and it goes quickly.

Anyone know if power is out in Stonecrest?

My Brother in law reports from stonecrest that they do not have power there. Duke power hasn't given them a time frame to restore.
They are spending today / tonight at our villa in calumet grove, which does have power. We are out of state in Georgia at present.

I-75 southbound is slow and bumper-to-bumper by Exit 329.

I understand the concern of seeing how your home may have fared, but another day or so (especially without electricity)...won't make a lot of difference.

FINALLY power back in Summerhill!!

It seemed a lot longer than 48 hours, I must say. I was telling a neighbor it was only Sunday night that Irma came through and she didn't believe me -- "It had to be Saturday!" Heh.

According to SECO's site, 11,186 customers are currently without power in Sumter and 21,095 in Marion.
