I am up north near Hershey,Pa .Our home in Lynnhaven,Swainwood Villas according to neighbors was high and dry and no damage and we have power.I would like to get back to TV and give the home a good inspection but I do not want to get in the way of the cleanup in FL and TV.
Looking for advice on the traffic on I75 and 301 south of I10.
Are Walmart, Publix and Winn Dixie open and well stocked?
When will the roads in TV be open?
Thank you for your advice.

Imagine how many Floridians who were evacuated are going to be trying to return home in the next few days as well as all of the contractors, power companies, insurance adjusters etc etc all trying to use the same roads you want to travel on. The roads will be jam packed, there are trees across roads, flooded roads etc. They really don't need people trying to come down unless they absolutely need to be there anytime soon.

I am in the same situation. One of my neighbors to whom I gave a key walked through and around my house and reported on what little damage it sustained. Do you have someone in the neighborhood who could do that for you ?

Might want to look at FDOT cameras for traffic flow.

My half brother who lives in New Smyrna Beach wants to come back from Philly to see his place, but he's waiting for the AutoTrain. He said so far it's not running but maybe Wednesday. August is the off season, I took the Autotrain in August of 2013 and it was only $350 one way with my car. If you count the cost of gas, motels, wear and tear, it's a good deal at that summer rate. You might go to their website and see about getting on. You would have to drive to the Arlington, Virginia area to get on, and it arrives in Sanford, Florida. That's about 90 minutes east of here. You would mostly be traveling 441 to get to the TV, which as you know is a fairly commercial 4 or 6 lane road.

Insurance very well might try to deny a claim for water damage if the homeowner does not take actions to tarp or otherwise prevent future rain from entering the home. Those with damaged roofs/missing shingles, and/or torn off siding need to care for their homes ASAP. Very difficult if you are not there!

My sister in law and her family evacuated from the Tampa Bay area a few days ago to just short of Mobile AL. After 7 hours in their car today trying to get back they stopped at a hotel in Tallahassee. Traffic was unbelievable and really not moving at all. Have a neighbor at least look at the outside of your house for roof or siding damage.

Just heard on WFLA Orlando radio that some river north of Gainesville is running very high and might overflow the bridge at I-75. If that happens, they will close I-75 both north and south bound. Wow!

I had gone on Priceline.com and hotels.com on Saturday and every motel along I-10 from Crestview, Florida to Pensacola, Mobile, Gulfport and Biloxi, MS was booked 100% occupied. The only vacancy was expensive condos in Gulf Shores, Alabama which are about 20 miles south of I-10 and not easy to get to, and aren't exactly a safe place.
