Edie Windsor was a plaintiff in a 2013 DOMA case in which the IRS tried to screw her out of her wife's estate. It led to the end of DOMA nine years after the wise justices of the Supreme Court struck down the despicable law and allowed people of the same sex to marry.

I noticed her life too.

I think you would have liked her. She was one firecracker, let me tell you. She worked in senior positions at UNIVAC and IBM. You didn't have to ask for her opinion. ;)

Having married my husband in Massachusetts in 2004, she's very special to me. We got our marriage license the first day possible for fear Gov. Romney would pull a rabbit out of a hat. We've been together now since 1976.
