View Full Version : What is that feeling?

Six years ago I was a Paul Ryan fan thinking he had the right stuff. As I listen to him now he forgets all about the federal debt he once railed against in order to follow the political winds supporting a popular tax cut that adds to deficit. Listening to this sell out now gives me the same feeling as driving my fingers down my throat. Is there a shred of integrity left in Washington? No need to answer that question is rhetorical.

Is Washington full of Ds and Rs?
Then no...there is no integrity.

Before they go to washington they say look at all the stupid gold fish going in circles.
Then when they get in the bowl (washington) they soon realize there is only one way to swim when in the bowl.....in circles.
They all talk the right game, say the right words to get elected. Some may even be sincere in what they say....BEFORE GOING TO WASHINGTON.
Then they get into the politics of who owes what to who, whose special interest toes might get stepped on, whose minority group (including race) to not offend, the poisoned political correctness takes affect, etc, etc.........all nurtured and protected by the establishment.
Then the newbie with the right intentions is overwhelmed and in the effort to keep their job, they roll over and join the establishment. Hence nothing gets done.
Tax cuts? "Working" on them for 11 years??????????????
Health care? Working on for 8 years.....actually much much longer.
Where else could anybody be working on anything for so long with NO PROGRESS? And still keep their jobs.
We put men on the moon in shorter periods of time.
As long as the establishment is in the majority....NOTHING WILL EVER CHANGE.
Trump is finding that out now.
We are in self destruct mode and doing nothing about it.
I am glad I came through America when I did.....when it was great and did get something done!

Oh billie...if ONLY that were true.
Everyone running for high office already KNOWS how the system works. There is no "Mr Smith goes to Washington". They run BECAUSE of the system...what the system will offer them for playing along. They are "agents" collecting their 10% for making deals.
You mean you're glad you grew up in WHITE America...when it WAS great. Now we're #25 WAY below the still white countries of Europe.
Race matters...it's ALL that matters. White/Asian countries do well...Hispanic countries are mediocre...and blacks countries...well they ALL suck. Black countries are poor, dangerous, hellholes...because blacks are NOT the same species as us, They lack CRUCIAL ancestors that we have and they don't. Ancestors that made US what we are. A species...or race...that created western civilization and ALL the technology we enjoy today. Hispanics didn't do it...blacks didn't do it...white people did. Hispanics and blacks always DESTROY what we have built. Name anyplace/anything that has gotten better after blacks took it over...just ONE.

i totally agree with the OP and what the OP describes has application to both federal and state government, with few exceptions.
Politicians have no interest in "serving we the people" all they do is watch the voting polls and move accordingly, some not even that.
I am thoroughly disgusted with our government. We have Senators like Elizabeth Warren complaining about the fat cat CEO's in corporation and yet neither Senators or congressman and women are accomplishing a thing. yet they continue to pay themselves and pay themselves well

The simple fact is that whenever a member of either party gets elected to a position in Congress they will conform to the Party Line.
I've know a lot of southern Democrats who thought of themselves as "Conservative Democrats" who were quickly whipped into line when they arrived in Washington. (I haven't known many people who thought of themselves as "Liberal Republicans.")
The Party Leaders have a variety of ways of rewarding "good" behavior and punishing "bad" behavior. It starts with the assignment of office space and a parking space. It goes on to the very vital distribution of financial assistance in re-election campaigns. It also includes assignment to Committees and Sub-Committees. Some carry prestige; others do not.
THAT is why it is nonsense to say you vote for the individual, regardless of Party. Party membership will determine how the candidate will vote after being elected.

Congress has a slightly more than 15% approval rating. Nothing more needs be said about the ability of these elected incompetents. There is not a governmental agency or private functioning enterprise that can remain profitable or acceptably functional with only 15% of operating management performing competently. Unfortunately the system allows their incompetence because we, their bosses, continue to allow them to make their own rules. Tax reform, medical reform, legal / illegal immigrant reform will never happen until we demand Congressional reform. The system isn't broken but it isn't even close to acceptably functional.

Nice post Carl...it's good you see some of it...let me explain a little more.
Unless they pledge allegiance to the party...they don't get a dime or on the ballot. The party vets candidates before supporting them. Part of that vetting is...do they play ball?
It was a JOY to read that last paragraph...BRAVO Carl! I can't tell you how many times I've told these blind idiots that you can't vote for ANY D or R candidate...they ALL work for the system.

They ALL work for the party who works for the VERY wealthy and powerful. That is why you must stop electing Ds and Rs. We must elect only independents.
The "system" IS broke...VERY broke..and corrupt. The taxpayers owe $20 trillion that has mostly ended up in the hands of the extremely wealthy...the banks and bankers...the large corporations.

Independent thinkers with Independent agendas and NOT team players with the ability to compromise is why nothing is getting done in D.C.
No, the problem is their NEED to buy their votes in order to keep their jobs. How many folks care what D.C. is doing if there is nothing in it for them personally? Avarice dominates the spoiled American.

My friend, it is not a "simple fact" but rather a "complex fact" of what you speak.
Of what you speak begs he question as to why? More exactly as to whom? Many people won't or can't grasp the concept that a "Deep State"( Shadow government, Global /Establishment) exists and it runs this nation.
Deep State views elected officials as temporary employees, especially the position of president, a position that will hold no longer than 8 years.
If a person wants to be elected then they must fall in line with Deep State or at least not interfere with these career federal government employees long term and continuous agenda.
Its why Trump has shocked Washington when he got elected. Hillary was bought and paid for it was here costs of doing business and she failed to everyone's surprise
Trump enters as a maverick but watch what happens to him. Watch Trump end up bending to Deep State. Those in Congress who last tread very lightly and carefully.
All governments are amoral and they don't care about right or wrong but only power and control. the defining difference is in the manner they apply to control its people. some by force and fear others by entitlements or regulations and indeed keep them off balance and pre-occupied with issues that divide them because it plays right into Deep States hands
In economics it is referred to as Adams Invisible Hand.

It's a ruse...it's just more "reality TV"...political theater. The "important stuff" is still being paid for. Welfare, warfare...are still going along as usual...BOTH benefit the wealthy.
Getting "nothing done" in DC is the BEST we could hope for...EVERYTHING they "pass" puts the taxpayer deeper into debt. EVERYTHING they pass...gives the wealthy a little more. In the end...just about ALL of the borrowed money ends up in their pockets.

It's funny how some naive people think that those in power...the VERY wealthy..."give up power" every 4 or 8 years to some "random guy" who happens to get elected. The reality is...even with Trump...NOTHING really changes with the election of a new president except the stationary. Presidents are talking heads. They are the CEO who works for the board of directors.
Presidents don't RUN the country...they just appear to. The ones who really run the country...don't change...and they don't peg their future to the whims of the voters. It's all fixed...and we can't change it...unless we STOP electing them...the D and R crooks.
