The town hall meetings clearly shot down the public option.
Representatives have been overwhelmed with mail regarding dis favor of the public option.
Most reputable polls show dis favor of the public option.
Baucus 'committee...public option voted out.
Nancy Pelosi said yesterday there will be no bill sent to the floor without the public option.
And magically today the draft (it is not a bill) that is going forward for a supposed contains the public option. That is what WE THE PEOPLE need to take note of. It doesn't matter if the dis favor is right or not. It doesn't matter what party anybody belongs to.....
what matters and should be of concern is the system is not being allowed to do what the constitution stated....be representatives of WE THE PEOPLE!!!
In addition, once again the Dems are ramping up the bull dozer. It appears they will be pushing to get the draft (not the bill) to a vote. This means once again, the bill as it will be put into law will not only not be read...it may not even exist at the time of the vote. And not to mention the very small issue of the fact the finance committee will not have run a price on the proposal yet.
Democracy? I think not. More facist like than deomocracy.
Does anybody care (anymore)? Obviously based on current events....that doesn't seem to matter.
The only real truth that is associated with this bill is the label put on it....Obama's highest domestic priority...no matter what is in it....no matter whether WE THE PEOPLE like it or not!!!!!!!!!!

The House bill includes the public option the Senate bill does not. Democracy is in action here Obama ran on Universal Healthcare and he won. That is democracy....If you check the current polls the public at large favors the public option. A bunch of loud and often rude shouting at political figures is not democracy ....just a mob.

after posted, it most assuredly will come back in response digested and restated. If up is presented.....the responses will be all about down, or sideways.
Just as those of the we the people who disagree with the health care reform are interpreted to be unruly and a mob.
I was talking about Nancy Pelosi's direction that there will not be a bill that goes to the floor without a public option. Not what the will of the people direct....but what SHE said it will be. That is not democracy I don't care how it is moulded.

It appears that you may not be able to see the forest for the trees. Nancy Pelosi is an elected congress person from California. She was then elected to be the Speaker of the House by the Congress in which she serves. Most if in all of the members of Congress were elected by the people. The House has passed a bill that includes the public option but the proposed bill in the Senate does not. If the Senate passes the bill, which again will be voted on by elected Senators, one from Colorado appointed and maybe one appointed from MA, then the two bills will have to be reconciled and voted on again. At that point it has to be signed by the President who was elected by a vote of the people. All of this was explained to me in History or Government class in school. This is how the government has functioned for more than 200 years.
It is NOT about Pelosi...it is NOT socialism and it is NOT fascism...it is democracy in action.

Rasmussen's poll as of this morning indicates the Nation is against the public option. You have found polls indicating just the opposite.
AT BEST POLL RESULTS ARE QUESTIONABLE SO LET US AGREE THAT IF YOU AVERAGE THEM ALL HALF OF THE COUNTRY ,INCLUDING THE POOR, ARE IN FAVOR OF THE FREE STUFF AND THE OTHER HALF ARE AGAINST IT.

Given the democrats own the white house, house of representatives, the senate and pretty much have a filibuster proof majority, the simple fact that they can't get this passed should be a telling tale.
The only way they can get it passed it through intimidation and trickery. Don't let anyone really figure out what's in it.
People don't want this pure and simple. If they ram it through anyway you'll all see the repercussions in 2010 and 2012.
Also interesting how they say this needs to be passed IMMEDIATELY!.. but it doesn't actually take effect until 2013.. after the elections.
If it does pass you'll see many of them get run out of town on a political rail. The roll backs on the bills will start before it actually has a chance to reck our health care system and the rest of our economy.

with a gentleman vacationing from Germany and asked him some questions about Germany's taxes and health care. He seemed to be happy with his health care overall. There are waits for some kinds of care but nothing of any great concern.
He did however immediately follow up the health care topic with the tax burden to pay for all their social programs. Several times he mentioned that the German "tax freedom day" was July 15th. Seven and a half months of work just to pay his taxes. They pay a value added tax of 19%, a 5.5% reunification tax ( to cover the costs of uniting east and west Germany) and are taxed 8% to support the churches (which I think you can sign out of).
The social system in Germany is quite liberal he said, but they "pay dearly for it." Their "welfare" systems covers all of the living expenses for immigrants yet doesn't allow them to work unless they have "green cards". Like here they have generations living off the taxpayers. He also said that most of the surronding countries have even higher tax rates that Germany.
According to him most people work a "Black" (under the table) job to have something to spend that they are not taxed on. Not surprising when a glass of beer costs $8, from what he said, due to the taxes.
So, do we in America want a government that taxes us more than they do now, to provide a European style social government, or do we want a less invasive, more Free to Choose government? I vote for my own decisions on where to spend my earnings, not the government to say where my money should be spent, and tax the hell out of me to do it.

OK, OK let's listen to the polls. How about public opinion on Iraq/Afghanistan not very favorable
http://www.pollingreport.com/iraq.htm
Let's get out ASAP from both places and let's not hear any whining about the 4500+ troops who will have been lost in vain, we heard the same sob story about Viet Nam in the late sixties, then we managed to waste another 50,000 lives and billions of dollars before we finally cut and ran and left the Vietnamese to figure things out for themselves.

Do you have a problem with the military? I was in Viet Nam in the 60's and d**n proud of my service time there. Yet you make it seem like every life lost there and in any war was a waste. Have you served in the military? Freedom is not free! Ever hear that before. If you are unhappy here in the states I am sure some other country will be glad to have all you have to offer.
