Mrs. KC and I drove to Fenney this afternoon to look around to see what's been done. We found a CYV with a pool and a view and were really interested in it until we found out Fenney is not going to be connected (as the realtor called it) with a MMP to the rest of the bubble for two and a half years. :22yikes: We got to tour Red Fox Golf Course and it is stunning, but we love playing too many courses with our own carts to not be able to do that for that length of time. :(:(

For some I think that's the appeal of Fenny. We have friends who are buying there and the reason is it's slightly removed but still close to main campus.

What we need is a shuttle service from Brownwood and/or Burnsed Rec Center. They would be 9 passenger vans pulling trailers that could hold 4 carts. Have regular service between the 2 pickup points and the Fenney golf courses. It could also be used by the Fenney residents wanting to use their own carts north of Hwy 44.

So Fenney will not have golf cart access to the rest of The Villages until early 2020?

Yes, I visited Fenney when I was in The Villages 3 weeks ago. There was a chart in the Rec Center/Sales Office at Fenney with a timetable of when various milestones will take place. I must have missed the notice about how long it would take to get golf cart access from Fenney to the rest of The Villages.

<snip> we found out Fenney is not going to be connected (as the realtor called it) with a MMP to the rest of the bubble for two and a half years. <snip>Well ... a sales rep has spoken and we can absolutely believe it is true. Was this the same rep who said Pine Ridge and Pine Hills was the Final Phase?

Actually, it does sound believable, but the timing is TBD.

Looks like that. Think about it - building those bridges across 44 and the turnpike, building the mmp's - that is going to take a lot of time. Some people like the remoteness of Fenney and won't mind it, or, are new to The Villages and haven't experienced being able to get everywhere on their golf cart; it's just not for us at this point, maybe later.

In those two and a half years it will look like Morse south of 466a when we moved here two and a half years ago.

Well, it's about like believing 1/2 the sh!t you hear on TOTV; everyone is an expert on some topic. The sales office had a map with a timeline that showed everything that is currently in the works is to be completed in that two and a half time frame.

Well you may or may not see it this way. Several years ago and in the recent years, the emphasis was on Golf Carts, smaller more convenient units. And now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,? The trend seems to be toward more big cars, the bigger the better, Muscle Cars, the more road traffic, the accidents, some will disagree, but that is fine. Development seems to be going away from the Carts? Do you see the Caddies, the Lincoln's and other 4500 pound units around? Well at least those buggies and all that steel does provide more protection for the people who love the Happy Multi Hours.

You see cars that are larger because that's what they retired with and they probably only have 4000 miles and in three years living in the villages the probably only have 4500 miles. So why would you get rid of a car and downsize to something smaller, it's already paid for, it's just smart money. We drive a large SUV not planning on getting rid of it. It doesn't have enough miles on it and it's an extremely comfortable car.

Never disclosed Exercise equip additional charge $55 mo for 2 bikes and tredmill our sales liar said would be connected in 17 months
Villages biggest ripoff poor quality houses and fees for everything but breathing because they haven’t figured out how to charge for that

I do not work for the villages but did a great deal of looking at other places before buying here.

Things you may not be aware of. Real estate law is if it is not in writing it is meaningless.

Compared to other managers, there is no shortage of places where they set up a fancy office sell you a PLAN ON THE WALL which is nothing but a drawing and they sell you a very over priced lot perhaps with no electrical, water or sewer service. There is not guaranty that any of the beautyful sketches on the chart will ever be built-the non built pool, club house for that matter the home next door could turn out to be a broken motor home.

As you/we read through these posts, you will find some who think the world will stop because the golf courses are wet-we did just have a hurricane. Other complain because their garden waste, which they have given no consideration of what it would take to pick it up-ie it is not tied in to bundles. ETC-ETC-ETC-

Nothing is perfect. I for one fear the thought of the inmates running this place.

Your posts have close to the same verbiage. Did you buy a home and are not happy? Sometimes TV is not for everyone, hopefully you will settle down and start to enjoy all the amazing things around you.
But the good news is if you are not happy, your house will sell quickly, as many of us find when we need a bigger or smaller home.

Realistically......I think a resale in Fenny will loose money.....at this time anyway...... too many new homes at cheaper prices...

Maybe in the future....but a resale on the market..today...in Fenny....will lose money in realtor fees alone.

Only hope would be For sale by owner.....and even then....

I completely, (and respectfully disagree). Did you know that outside realtors can't sell NEW homes in Fenney, but the folks who live there will have NO problem selling them by posting them on TOTV.

The homes in Fenney were well priced and in a couple of years when all is attached to the "mainland", and those folks want to sell and move to larger or smaller as many of us have already done, they will make a nice amount.

I betcha. Yup. Those folks in Fenny are smart and they are lucky as well. Patience, Grasshopper. Some folks just keep hatcheting the area that people have chosen for their homes. People said the same to us, buying right close to highway 466. Nobody likes to appear stupid. Well we weren't and the Fenny folks aren't either.

listing your home in Fenny tommorrow because you were misled or changed your mind....will never gain more than you purchased it last month......

between closing costs lost and 6 percent realtor fees..and possibly bank fees.....its a loose loose....

I'm wondering about the poster who is complaining that it was... "Never disclosed Exercise equip additional charge $55 mo for 2 bikes and tredmill". If one were interested in using this equipment, wouldn't you visit one of the regional rec centers where you can see the prices? I was interested in the fitness centers when I bought and checked it out. Should every salesperson disclose that there isn't a covered pool or that not all executive courses have a par 4?

I was on the Fenny trolley thursday with some friends thinking about buying in TV. They took us to Rohan and spoke about going threw the door marked Paradise.....
I had never been thru that door so the entire bus was waiting on gasped breath to see what was thru the door...
It was a exercise gym. The trolley conductor made such a big deal about this and neglected to mention the fees attached with the usage of this facility.

She also marveled at telling all our friends from home that by living in TV we are now members of 12 County Clubs.......she also neglected to mention that you can only eat there......you have to pay to play and you cannot use the swimming facilities unless you pay for them as well....

I do think that some times.....the whole story is not being told.....and our guests for one...had no idea until I made it clear to them......they need to know going in whats the real benefits.... TV is great and has been very fruitful to us in many ways....and we enjoy the time we spend here.....

But.....give us the good with the bad.....TV will win people over regardless.

At any private country club, the buy in just to be a member can be as little as $10,000 up to $100,000. Plus you must spend a certain $$$ amount in the restaurant or you will be charged that amount every month. Low end is $600. You still pay caddy fees, and sometime females can only play on a certain day at a certain time. Then comes the cost of guests that can range from $200 and up for 18, plus caddie and tip. If you are not a member you can't use the restaurant, pool,or golf course.

So technically we are members of 12 country clubs, that you can go to the restaurants, and play golf for a fee. The only thing our Membership does not include is their pools.

We chose priority membership for that reason

What will the resale value be in 2 1/2 years anywhere in TV. If you can tell me which village will yield the most profit I will invest there. But since none of us know what 2 years down the road holds, I am not going to speculate over something I have no control over.

Just one question Mleeja,
Sounds like a fairly major operation with 9 passenger vans pulling 4 cart trailers, and I assume a regular schedule?
Who do you propose will pay for the service?
If the answer is Amenity fees, I highly doubt it will fly.
And I doubt the Village of Fenny residents would be lining up to use the service at hefty prices.

we spoke to the villages golf carts t spanish springs. we aked if we were to buy a new cart from you, spending $15k and a home in Fenny, could we have the use of a rental cart for free, for golf, while we wait for the mmp's to be built. Sharon Starr, the golf cart sales person, said, good question....Emailed and asked the upper people, they came back with a firm NO, they stated they did not want to start any presidence that would allow fenny people a complimentary cart, free of charge, even thought they purchased a brand new cart from them.

they would however rent a cart for 3 hours for $5 so you could play golf, or $6 championship..but only if one was available.

so there ya go...from the horses mouth.

we also went to lunch and stopped by the sales center at fenny. We asked to see the maps that detailed the 2 1/2 year mmp operations that everyone seems to be mentioning. There were none. The signs show future plans and dreams, but nowhere did it ever indicate a time frame.....

Just setting the record straight. So 1 year, 2 years, 3 years...never?.....that is up to everyones individual interpertations....

Other than going to Publix at Denton Plaza, getting across 44 in a golf cart is going to acomplish what? It's 5 miles from Fenney to 44, it's 11 miles from 44 to Cane Garden. Who's going to drive 16 miles in a golf cart each way to play Cane Garden? Give or take a mile or two, Evans Prairie, Mallory, Havana subtract 3, Palmer add 3. Other than Bell Glade and Bonifay I don't see it as all that great to be able to drive from Fenney to TV to play golf.

Once they have that golf cart bridge built they'll probably have new homes built within a mile of 44, that takes away about 4 miles. So if you're a golfer and want to drive your cart to the course, and want a newer, bigger, better, pool, whatever house, wait the 3 years and you can get 4 or 5 miles closer and newer home in Fenney. Although it will have different village name and probably cost more.

I can see your point, it's a Sunday drive 2.0 with the golf cart. Every chance you get, so you're not fulltime in TV. I'm have lived here for 6+ years fulltime and the fun of a Sunday ride in the cart wore off by year two for my wife and three for me. I'm partial to air conditioning and a radio and my wife heaven forbid the wind blow her hair. I was mostly referencing the golfer, since they have no courses in Fenney.

Just imagine you have a 11:56 teetime at Cane Garden. I've gone to Lopez twice in a cart myself and it was 55 minutes each way and I'm only driving 11 miles from Tamarind Grove. The third time I played Lopez I drove my car and rented a cart. Back to my scenario, you've loaded up the clubs in the Village of Fenney for your 16 mile cart ride to Cane Garden, teetime 11:56, better allow 90 miles for travel plus add check-in time and practice putting, I'll leave at 10am.

Arrive Cane Garden 11:30, go pay and putt and tee off at 11:56. Finish round at 4:15, no time for the 19th hole, head back to Fenney 90 minutes, arrive home 5:45. So 18 holes of golf and you've been in your cart from 10am to almost 6pm, you've driven 32 miles plus the 5 miles during the round and you swung your golf clubs about 90 times and weathered the 90 degree heat and the ocassional rain shower. To me, that's not fun golf it's not even golf, I'd be asking to heck with the bridge, when are you building a golf course in Fenney?

Different strokes for different folks.....we have been here over 3 years and still take the carts for most places....and yes, we even do Sunday drives (although Sunday can be any day of the week). We use the car if we leave the bubble or it's really crappy weather. One of the draws here is nature and the people you meet. Sequestered in a car with the windows up misses so much this place has to offer IMO

A house in Pine Ridge beat that record already. But did someone become too ill to make that happen or possibly die just shortly after buying their house. There are more than one reason why a home goes up for sale soon after purchasing
