I'M SITTING HERE IN MY POST-MIDNIGHT (NIGHT OWL) PHASE WISHING I FELT LIKE GOING TO BED and realizing that few people will see this post due to the timing, but I feel the need to vent a bit about this "taking a knee to protest during the National Anthem" nonsense.
For all the ABSOLUTE IDIOTS who don't know any better, be advised that the First Amendment to the Constitution ONLY guarantees that the GOVERNMENT cannot punish you for anything you say. That is all of the "Free Speech" you get.
YOUR EMPLOYER has every right to circumscribe your speech at work because your employer has a financial interest in how you are perceived by the public. I served in the U.S. Army, three different law enforcement agencies, and was employed by one commercial business. In NONE of them was I free to say absolutely anything that I chose without the possibility of suffering the consequences from my employer, up to and including being fired.
THAT MEANS that whenever we see these under educated, overpaid, spoiled brat, professional athletes DISRESPECTING OUR FLAG AND OUR COUNTRY by refusing to stand for our National Anthem, they ARE subject to discipline both by their individual team ownership and by the National Football League.
Team owners and the NFL are HIDING behind an erroneous understanding of the First Amendment in their refusal to discipline their EMPLOYEES.
As of now, the NFL is DEAD TO ME. Further, I believe it is time to revoke the NFL's status as a non-profit organization, which we all know is a phony designation since it generates millions of dollars in profits for the people at the top.

If advertisers stopped buying commercials on NFL games because of the disrespect the players are showing, NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell would stop this nonsense right away--too much money would be lost--maybe he should grow a pair

Carl in Tampa says the NFL is dead to him.
Carl, I got news for you. No one cares! You are WAY out of their demographic area for them ( or anyone) to give a crap about.
They advertise no products for your age group. They cater to viewers in the 18-45 age group. Those persons ( mostly male) are the target groups. Those people believe in the "take a knee against Trump".
Stand aside, Carl, or get swept to the side of the road.

Nonsense, Sandtrap. My cable box is still sampled to see how many sets are tuned to a game, a fact which is monitored with great concern by advertisers. No one is asked their age when they purchase a ticket to attend a game, and the increase of empty seats in the stadiums can be concerning.
And, not even Krapernick claims he is taking a knee against Trump. Your belief that "viewers in the 18 - 45 age group" are against Trump is a fact, or is significant is immaterial. Funny thing about older folks. We vote.

The reality of what just occurred between Goodell and Trump has been lost on many, so let it be explained briefly.
The commissioner of a failing American sports entertainment league just scolded the President of the United States. Goodell, and his completely unnecessary league have shown that they believe they are above the authority of the most powerful man in the world.
We have taken a children’s game, given those kids a free education just so that the NFL can get a good look at their skills, and then paid them an exorbitant amount of money to recreate that game on television, often at the expense of the American taxpayers who have been duped into countless stadium and infrastructure deals as teams relocate for the sake of making more money. Then, the commissioner of this nonsensical “professional” entity pretends he is more important than President Trump in a rant akin to snatching up the Commander in Chief by the ear and embarrassing him in front of the entire nation.
This behavior from anyone, let alone the guy in charge of overpriced man-children playing a game, is wildly unacceptable.
Include the owners of NFL teams that joined with their players as a rebuke to Trump's call for patriotism.
Remember that every time and for every player who takes a knee sits on a bench and otherwise show disrespect for our flag is insulting the men and women who gave treasure and blood to defend these adolescent gesture. what an insult to our military

Lot of empty seats in stadiums around the country that the sports stations are forced to televise around.
My daughter friend has season tickets to the Jets. My daughter told me that in yesterday's game half those seats were empty

And once again, the white bigots are tone deaf and ignorant as to the actual meaning...of kneeling during the national anthem.
How about you dumb sumsabitches start talking about the racial disparity, that makes so many feel that the flag of freedom & justice...doesn't always apply to ALL Americans?
But no, that will never happen, as you would rather use the action to further justify...your own racism/bigotry/prejudice.
And the POTUS would rather spend his time & effort talking about this, instead of American citizenss reeling from a hurricane in Puerto Rico...because he knows white nationalism is at the core of his support.

Are you black? You must be to post something so ignorant.
What is the racial breakdown of the NFL? 80+% black? There's a LOT of racism going on there...isn't there? Where are the white people?
We should all DEMAND that they make it more racially diversified.

Didn't Puerto Rico recently vote for separation? Timing could have worked out better for them, or us...only group of people born with the right to a "blue" USA passport and they bitch they want their own. People the world over would love to have that "blue" passport...

Regarding Trump’s fire-the-NFL-protesters line last night, it is a classic example of Trump’s, at times, gut-level political savvy. This kind of thing is why he’s president. He takes a commonly held sentiment — most people don’t like the NFL protests — and states it in an inflammatory way guaranteed to get everyone’s attention and generate outrage among his critics. When those critics lash back at him, Trump is put in the position of getting attacked for a fairly commonsensical view.

He is President because of James Comey and the Anthony Weiner e-mails about his private life. Basically about Weiner's weiner. Clinton had it locked up before that announcement by Comey ten days or so before the Election if that.

Thank GOD the issue is confined to a minority of the minority.
Unfortunately it is amplified by the media to make it from an isolated incident to a nation wide incident......again catering to special interests....magnifying the dis-respectful special interest groups and those who support them.

I'm done with the NFL and maybe even college football. Too many scholarships given to minorities. Definitely finished with those liberal elitist sports like golf, soccer and tennis. And I'm not even going to address the NBA or boxing. Now I'm 100% in for NASCAR, UFC and WWE. Great American sports played by real Americans. Time to boycott all advertisers who associate themselves with the NFL, PGA and the like. Hopefully pro sports owners will demand a loyalty oath before drafting any athlete. In fact they should consider a loyalty oath for themselves. And what is the deal with that owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars? Sad.

I am ranting about the lack of any interest in this country to a cyber attack by a foreign country, and attempt to infiltrate our voting machines and an attempt to affect our election process.
I am ranting about the leader of the country calling an investigation into those attacks on our country a hoax and making fun not only of the body investigating but individuals involved and any agency who supports said investigation.
I am ranting about the on going debate on health care which appears it will never be resolved, and now wants to have it done with no CBO score which means BLINDLY IN TOTAL.
I am ranting about an adviser to the President, Jared Kushner, using an unsecured private computer to do government work from our White House. (Sound familiar?)
I am ranting about a President who took TWO....TWO NFL players and made an issue of it which now will grow because of his interference. He called them "son of a bitches" while insuring we knew that there were some "good people" in the Nazi movement.
I am ranting about an administration that can spend time spouting off about legitimate protest by employees of a private concern, instead of addressing the issue of our country.
I am ranting about the insensitivity to the people who are suffering in Florida and Texas, but seemingly sensitivity to Nazi groups.
I am ranting about putting TWO people who demonstrated and making them an issue instead showing respect for the many brave men and women of our intelligence agencies.
So many more things...but where is everybody's head making this a headline event. The media, except for Fox, ignored it basically on Sunday and the players showed more class than the President ever has shown. He is NOT the judge of what is in peoples mind.....he cannot, as he did, make judgements on how folks feel about the flag.
He cannot make public accusations from our Oval Office, as he did with his many false and irrational claims about being wiretapped, etc and make then judgements on having them "fired".
If his intent is to divide this country into classes sorted by race and gender and ethnicity, he gets an A for that, both in effort and it seems in results.
We survived the sixties, olympic demonstrations, etc without anyone being called a "son of a bitch" from the oval office, without being told they should lose their job because HE does not agree.

It is a shame Obamma did nothing about it the cyber attack...to know it was possible and do nothing to prevent it... tisk, tisk, tisk.
The rest of your drama filled posts suggest your only cure would be to either drive yourself off a cliff or continue to hammer your balls flat with a rubber mallet - cause the language is only going to get worse and obviously you are "not man enough to handle it".
On a side note; I saw a Tranny in Americano's Grill- yuck!...definately would be a good idea to grab a lady by the Pu$$y prior to kissing her these days...
