We need to remember 2 facts before going stupid. Trump did not cause those hurricanes and none of this FEMA aid is paid for, just added to our grand children's future. We are indeed a special people are we not? I think a tax cut for all is what we need. (Sarcasm)

Yes, the tax cut will spur growth, upwards of 7% as during the Reagan years compared to Obama years of just 2% after doubling the debt to $20 trillion. PR is just another example of how failure to tackle infrastructure and government handouts to get votes FAILED miserably. They are bankrupt on top if all of these terrible problems. "When will we ever learn, when will we ever learn"?

Puerto Rico is not a state. They do not pay personal income tax. Their country is bankrupt. Maybe all of this is being taken into consideration? I am sure that Bill Clinton would be willing to give them the same service as he did with Haiti.

Interesting how they can publish a headline like this that is nowhere near what the actual facts are.

I assume the headline came form this:
Trump said he was initially considering whether to implement a temporary waiver of the Jones Act to allow it, but decided against doing so as "a lot of people that work in the shipping industry…don’t want the Jones Act lifted."


Notice it says "initially CONSIDERING." That is not refusing.

Then he reconsidered:
President Donald Trump waived the Jones Act for Puerto Rico on Thursday morning after initially stating he would not lift the restriction on international vessels in U.S. ports. The waiver was provided at Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rossello’s request, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a tweet.

The press in this country are incredibly dishonest.

Very good post! You make some good points. It's amazing how the media can distort facts.

The President seems to be working on the premise of America first. In case some don't get it, there are fees and restrictions, as well as taxing involved in shipping. American shipping should always have priority.
