Kind of depends on whom you consider a Christian. Do the women cover their hair with a hijab, as is commanded in 1 Corinthians 11:6? Do they know who King James I of England was, and why they read HIS "version" of the Bible, the KJV? Are they aware of what influence Constantine had on the Bible? Do you know that not one single Gospel was written until decades after the historical Jesus was dead, and so therefore no one actually heard what he had to say? If you're Protestant, do you know why? How much do you really know about the religion before you profess to call yourself "Christian".

You pose the wrong question. Worse yet you seem unable to answer your own question.
What I would say, is that it is God alone ,who can make that judgment without equivocation about each of us.

I learned a LOT about religion and deities, when I wondered "why don't I get what everyone else does"? I learned...they've been snookered...for 10%.
There are a LOT of "God's Laws" they don't follow. Their "Bible" has been picked over, rewritten, books deleted...until it became a shell of the "original". They believe that the books of Matthew and John are "original" written by the original apostles. The Protestants were protesting...
The trouble is...they get their information fro fellow believers and they never get to hear opposing views. Like here when I talk about minorities...they have their preconceived beliefs and they won't hear ANYTHING contradictory.

Our country was founded as “one nation under God,” and recognized worldwide as a Christian nation of high moral integrity and prosperity. But, following World War II, there ensued a strong movement especially noted in the sixties to disassociate all public and government-sponsored initiatives from God (hence, secularism). On a more material front, the trials of the Great Depression and the War resulted in a national trend toward utility over beauty. Industrialization fueled this further by promoting standardization and lower costs over uniqueness and beauty. The pursuit of quality was replaced by the pursuit of quantity. Consumerism displaced notions of restraint and replaced them with a lust to have more, and the “shop till you drop” mentality. Garages across America turned from places to preserve and maintain automobiles into storehouses for unneeded junk. Greater value was given to cheap disposable items than to that which was enduring and beautiful.
Essentially too many Americans kneel at the floor of consumerism their god. Its why Christmas has no special meaning any longer nor Easter.
It simply means too many Americans know the price of everything but the value of nothing. the intrinsic beauty of person places and things is lost on too many. Those that still adhere to it will understand this post.

If you don't like it, you can mind your own business. Religion is ALL politics. That's why I first posted you should know the history of your religion. Martin Luther was protesting against the politics of the Catholic church, and if you are currently a Protest - ant, that's why. Politics. The abortion debate is all politics. The gay debate is all politics. Separation of church and state is politics.

Personal Best Regards: "One Nation Under God" replaced our ORIGINAL MOTTO "E Pluribus Unum" in 1957 during the Cold War. This is the crux of the entire discussion, politics and religion. Did you get that "information" from your pastor?
Quit getting your history from your pastor and read a history book. This country was NOT founded as a Christian nation. The words "God" and "Christianity" appear NOWHERE in the Constitution. "The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion."--John Adams, 2nd President of the United States. Thomas Jefferson: “Christianity neither is, nor ever was, a part of the common law.” James Madison: “The civil government … functions with complete success … by the total separation of the Church from the State.” I could go on for pages of quotes. Your pastor has a POLITICAL agenda to promote the erroneous idea that this is a "Christian" nation. It most assuredly IS NOT.

Whether you are a believer or not is up to you and GOD. But to tell others that they do NOT believe or that they are NOT Christians, is just a ridiculous statement to make, since you do not know. It is your opinion.
Yes, this country was founded by believers whether you wish to believe it or not. ALL 50 state constitutions mention GOD at least once with over 200 times total.
Please remember that GOD is also mentioned in the Declaration of Independence.
There is 68 references to God in U.S. code.
"On the day that Congress finished its work on the First Amendment, it called on President George Washington to issue a Proclamation to the people of the United States to thank God for the freedoms we enjoy. A week and a day later the President's opening paragraph in his Proclamation said: "Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor . . ."
It is wrong to suggest that this country was not founded by Christian believers, giving all the glory to GOD.

Why the United States is NOT a Christian nation.
When Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, he spoke of "unalienable rights endowed by our Creator." He used generic religious language that all religious groups of the day would respond to, not narrowly Christian language traditionally employed by nations with state churches. Through ratification of the First Amendment, observed Jefferson, the American people built a "wall of separation between church and state." Early national leaders understood that separation of church and state would be good for all faiths including Christianity. Jefferson rejoiced that Virginia had passed his religious freedom law, noting that it would ensure religious freedom for "the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahometan, the Hindoo, the infidel of every denomination." President George Washington, in a famous 1790 letter to a Jewish congregation in Newport, R.I., celebrated the fact that Jews had full freedom of worship in America. Noted Washington, "All possess alike liberty of conscience and immunities of citizenship." Washington's administration even negotiated a treaty with the Muslim rulers of north Africa that stated explicitly that the United States was not founded on Christianity. The pact, known as the Treaty with Tripoli, was approved unanimously by the Senate in 1797, under the administration of John Adams. Article 11 of the treaty states, "The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion…."
Americans should be proud that we live in a democracy that welcomes persons of many faiths and none. Around the globe, millions of people still dwell under oppressive regimes where religion and government are harshly commingled. (Iran and the former Taliban regime of Afghanistan are just two examples.) Many residents of those countries look to the United States as beacon of hope and a model for what their own nations might someday become.

During the Republican debate, Mike Huckabee said he believes one of the defining issues facing the country is the sanctity of human life. Arguing that the issue is of historical importance, he invoked the Declaration of Independence's rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and said that most of the signers of the declaration were clergymen.

You certainly are not someone who should be speaking of Christian values. Your judgement of people, your hateful unfounded debasement of other people is truely stunning.
And you DO lie...you DO plagerize. You ignore when it is pointed out to you, but you do lie and you do deceive.

The point being discussed is that the Founders were indeed believers, whether claiming to be Christian or not. I fail to see why it is so abhorrent for the folks on the left to recognize the many good points related to those that believe in a higher form of divinity. The idea of persons caring for one another is reinforced by the instructions dictated by the Bible. Or, do liberals believe they are superior to any divinity? In my opinion, those that seem to get an allergic reaction to the mention of the Bible, seem to have something in their background that they are ashamed of and do not wish to face that sin. Believers are convinced that there is a higher form of forgiveness.
Sorry, did not mean to bring religion into politics. Someone, as always will inevitably mix the two. Maybe because there is so much corruption in politics? I generally stay away from discussing religious beliefs. That is taboo in today's PC world. I guess the next step will be for someone to bring up the ever present issue of abortion and it's religious ramifications.

Some of you seem to attack anyone that does not agree with you, even when they are able to articulate their view. In my opinion, it is OK to refute someone's statement with factual evidence, but to make personal attacks is against most forum rules. You and a couple others seem to have personal grievances against that poster. This is just my observation, and I may be wrong.

Back then...ALL learning was done at religious schools.
"Religious denominations established most early colleges in order to train ministers. They were modeled after Oxford and Cambridge universities in England, as well as Scottish universities. Harvard College was founded by the Massachusetts Bay colonial legislature in 1636, and named after an early benefactor. Most of the funding came from the colony, but the colleges began to collect endowments early on. Harvard first focused on training young men for the ministry, and won general support from the Puritan government, some of whose leaders had attended either Oxford or Cambridge.[1] The College of William & Mary was founded by the Virginia government in 1693, with 20,000 acres (81 km2) of land for an endowment, and a penny tax on every pound of tobacco, together with an annual appropriation. James Blair, the leading Church of England minister in the colony, was president for 50 years, and the college won the broad support of the Virginia gentry. It trained many of the lawyers, politicians, and leading planters at the time.[2] Yale College was founded in 1701, and in 1716 was relocated to New Haven, Connecticut. The conservative Puritan ministers of Connecticut had grown dissatisfied with the more liberal theology of Harvard, and wanted their own school to train orthodox ministers.[3]"

Not harsh at all or even close.
I do not attack him Rubicon because he disagrees with me....not at all.....fact is would welcome some substantive discussion from him but it never happens.
I have allowed him much supporting evidence.
I have allowed and showed him to plagerize TWICE that I can recall.
I have allowed and showed him linking to a Russian fake news site.
I have read and as can you, is almost daily attacks on whatever has made him angry that day.
I oppose Donald Trump, and have supplied volumes of evidence of his upbringing and hate before he was nominated or elected. I attach links showing how mean spirited this person is since he was elected.
BUT....I never criticize people in groups...although I will admit that I have begun to lump "Trump Supporters" because of the total complete echoing of non supportive positions because he tweeted about some issue.
Rubicon lumps people into groups....blacks, "progressives" (put in quotes because he has never defined that. He simply makes a general condemnation of millions of fellow americans, not on policy, not on issue, but PERSONALLY. He characterizes fellow americans a number of ways.......fellow americans, and he does this because they are whatever label he is working with on that day.
I, Coldnomore and others have criticized this President, shared links to make our point...shared his quotes to show he said what we heard him say, and we are then told we have "Trump derangement Syndrome, as if his hate for other Americans no brainwashed was not a serious syndrome in itself.
I get criticized much for supplying too much
information......RUBICON just says things about other people he does not know and makes such terrible and untrue accusations, it is scary.
Not harsh at all. If he believes that plagarism, and we are speaking word for word and passing it off as his own, is not stealing, then yes, I question his christian values. If condemning others on a public forum because they do not agree with your idol is not being judgemental and cruel then he better check his good book that he likes to share with all of us, to make himself look like a good man.
No, not too harsh...he has been challenged and re challenged on ISSUES AND SUBSTANCE, and ignores that and attacks. Yes, it has become personal, because when he speaks of facts and supplies fiction and never is able to document anything he says, and while he will preach to other posters about substance and never speak to substance, that makes him a deceiver.

The Old Testament contains a collection of myths from Egyptian, Greek, and older civilizations. Infuriating? It makes me laugh...the crap they believe...I mean BELIEVE with "all their being". Why? It was pounded into them as children...YOUNG children who don't know better.
They won't look because they're SO brainwashed they can't. They can't imagine anything else...because it's ALL they've known since they can remember. God God God.
Most know nothing of the religion they supposedly believe. All they get is...believe and love in Jesus...and you're golden. They ignore all the rest. They don't concern themselves with the OT at all. The difference between the OT God and Jesus...is night and day...it's schizophrenic.
Of course the flood myth is older than the Bible...it's the oral story of the end of the last ise age when the glaciers began melting and the oceans rose 300-400Ft. It flooded EVERYTHING. Everywhere men lived...flooded...EVERYTHING men had built...flooded and was destroyed. It WAS a "great cleansing"...but NOT for the reasons YOU think. The world IS "6,000 years old"...since the FLOOD...since mankind had to "start over".
The part about the 40 days and 40 nights...closer to 40 or 400 years... The Mediterranean flooded when the gap a Gibraltar was breached. The Black Sea flooded when Bosphorus was breached.
If people knew...if they were educated...they wouldn't believe. WHY do you think mans GREATEST sin is "knowledge"? Eating from the tree of knowledge.
Religions, governments...they LOVE helpless and ignorant people.
Preachers are always mixing religion with politics. Who objects to abortion? The religious. That crazy preacher Pat Robertson is always ranting about divine retribution for something political, the latest is the Vegas massacre was caused by disrespect for Trump. How can any thinking individual have nothing but contempt for such ravings? Abortion and birth control destroyed America!
That'll be the headline in 30 years when white people are 20% of the population. White people practice birth control and white people have the most abortions. Minorities welcome a new cash register.

The definition of pastor :a spiritual overseer; especially a clergyman serving a local church or parish.
You use the word clergy in your search and you came back with one active clergyman signed.
As you can see pastor has a broader definition/connotation and it may explain the different interpretations.
Pastor used in colonial times is somewhat different than today.

I have attempted on multiple occasions to engage you in substantive conversation based on the meaning of the forum, which is political discussion..
100% of the time, you simply avoid the questions of substance, and instead will post your long harangues accusing groups of people of things you know nothing about.
You act as judge daily on so many others you don't even know.

But will reall pay attention, and promise if an apology is due, you will get one.
I did not miss your point at all....if you can help to have conversations on anything of substance, you will be a hero. Sorry for you, but this is an open forum.
Your accusation of Trump being a liar has never been substantiated by you. So, you are wrong on that. Do I really need to embarrass you on all of your inaccurate accusations? After all, it is you that attacks everyone that does not agree with your statements.
Most Americans DO support their president. It is those that do not support their country via their president that are of questionable character. Calling the president vulgar names and disparaging him based on ONLY his character is the sign of an adolescent or just a loser. Your choice, or both.
You don't even know me, yet you accuse me of being "uneducated" and "evil." Thus the comment substantiated by your own actions, "spoken like a true Christian." Don't worry, it was not a correct assessment of you. It was likely meant to be sardonic.
Just a note: Accusing someone of not being "educated" after admitting that you did not vote for a valid candidate during the election, and then attempting to convince anyone of your political superiority is really interesting. I'm sure that the humor in it is not lost on the others either.

Trump said he would build a great big beautiful wall and Mexico would pay for it. Are they going to pay for it? Hasn't he now said it would be a "virtual wall" or a "solar" wall or a "transparent" wall (so you could avoid people being hit on the head when drug dealers toss over their bundles of drugs...that alone is a statement worthy of Milton Berle). Did he not say he would "repeal and replace Obamacare on day one"? Was that not a lie? Did he not say he "knows more than the generals"? Did he not say he would "defeat ISIS in 30 days"? And finally, on the day he swore on TV that he had nothing to do with Russia - that very evening he signed a letter of intent to build a hotel in Moscow, after months of negotiations with Russians. Donald Trump pursued deal to build Trump Tower in Moscow during presidential run | The Independent (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-tower-moscow-russia-presidential-campaign-felix-sater-emails-brooklyn-vladimir-putin-a7916006.html)
Most Americans DO NOT support this president, even Fox will agree that his approval rate is in the 30% range, which means well over 60% do NOT support Trump. Plus his international approval rate is even LOWER than that. “Trump is, by far, the least capable person ever to sit in the office and it’s appalling they have to deal with him,” said the president of Eurasia Group, a global risk-assessment firm. “Even in a country that really needs to have a good relationship with the United States, you’re just not willing to deal with it. You will say, ‘Screw this guy.’ ” Trump Unpopular Worldwide, American Image Suffers | Pew Research Center (http://www.pewglobal.org/2017/06/26/u-s-image-suffers-as-publics-around-world-question-trumps-leadership/)

Causes of Gynophobia
Psychiatrists believe that the fear of women phobia usually occurs in men having unresolved conflicts with their mothers. Abandonment or physical abuse inflicted by strict mothers in one’s childhood can cause Gynophobia. Childhood Gynophobia often resolves on its own but might persist well into adulthood. Such men tend to view women as physical or emotional threat.
Often, a child on the verge of puberty might have been sexually abused by a violent woman, leading to a cycle of hatred towards all women for life.
Some cases of fear of women phobia can arise later in life when an adult man might have been put down or insulted severely by a woman. This can lead to overwhelming thoughts of humiliation and rejection leading him to mistrust all women.

Just the opposite lady...he's got nothing but contempt and considers you nothing more than a sperm receptacle. He wants you OUT of everything you screw up. Women in general ARE too emotional to make the kind of tough and rational decisions that governance demands. EVERY women/minority Congressional District I can think of...is a mess.
If you know the answer...you don't have a question. And you THINK you have an answer with a "God"...you couldn't be more wrong.
You MUST know the trees to know the forest. For the forest is nothing if not a collection of individual trees.

You would probably be a lot happier if you just went ahead and prayed to Allah 5x a day Allah is simply the Arabic word for God. So, yes, they pray to God 5 times every day. They also say a prayer over every animal they kill for food, and send it to its death humanely. Now consider how "Christians" get their beef...thousands herded into slaughterhouses smelling of blood and fear, then clubbing to death. Hmmm.

Everything you write speaks to your state of mind. You have allowed yourself to become tainted with hate, anger and despair and hence hopelessness. You are one who needs to reflect and to engage in reaffirmations.
Indeed the world is an imperfect place but an intelligent person does not allow him/herself to remain unhappy. Intelligent people work at finding the good in this life.

Why do you "respect" people who are wrong?
If I keep telling you...insisting...the sky is red...would you respect me?
If I keep telling you "God" is really made out of spaghetti and orbits the earth...would you respect me?
How about this...if I kept insisting that the genders are EQUAL in their abilities...that blacks were just as smart and capable as white people...would you respect me?
EVERY one of those statements were false...and NOT something you "respect" someone for believing.

There is no group in the United States less attached to its own ideals or more eager for its own exploitation than religious conservatives. Forget Augustine and Aquinas, Wilberforce and Shaftesbury. For many years, leaders of the religious right exactly conformed Christian social teaching to the contours of Fox News evening programming.
Now, according to Bannon, “economic nationalism” is the “centerpiece of value voters.” I had thought the centerpiece was a vision of human dignity rooted in faith. But never mind. Evidently the Christian approach to social justice is miraculously identical to 1930s Republican protectionism, isolationism and nativism.
The religious right is making itself a pitiful appendage to this squalid agenda. If Christian conservatives are loyal enough, Bannon promises that they can be “the folks who saved the Judeo-Christian West.” All that is required is to abandon the best of the Judeo-Christian tradition: a belief in the inherent value and dignity of every life.
The religious right is an interest group seeking preference and advancement from a strongman — and rewarding him with loyal acceptance of his priorities. The prophets have become clients. The priests have become acolytes.

The Irish Republican Army did a lot of bombing back in the day. Many “civilians” were killed, many Irish supported them including many Irish Americans including politicians. “English out of Ireland” was a popular chant and I remember seeing many bumper stickers. You are annoying as hell.
But my posts are accurate and well researched, so I can't really help it if facts annoy you.

Now now Mellinhead, presenting a "one off incident" is hardly statistically making of a point (your 15.7 IQ is showing)...obviously the coward in Vegas was not a good Christian, if he was one at all.
I am always suspect of someone that needs to go to church more than once a week...how many bad thoughts does that person have a week??

The number of violent attacks on U.S. soil inspired by far-right ideology has spiked since the beginning of this century, rising from a yearly average of 70 attacks in the 1990s to a yearly average of more than 300 since 2001. These incidents have grown even more common since President Donald Trump’s election.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, a nonprofit that researches U.S. extremism, reported 900 bias-related incidents against minorities in the first 10 days after Trump’s election—compared to several dozen in a normal week—and the group found that many of the harassers invoked the then-president-elect’s name. Similarly, the Anti-Defamation League, a nonprofit that tracks anti-Semitism, recorded an 86 percent rise in anti-Semitic incidents in the first three months of 2017.

Christianity ONLY deals with the New Testament. The old Testament was before Christ's birth. And the New Testament was after Christ's death. There is no contemporaneous account of Christ. All of the Gospels were written years after the historical Jesus was dead for decades. Scholars who specialize in the origins of Christianity agree on very little, but they do generally agree that it is most likely that a historical preacher, on whom the Christian figure "Jesus Christ" is based, did exist. The oldest Gospel, that of Mark, was written no earlier than 60-80 years after Christ was dead. People who take the Bible as literal, need to study its history.

What are you talking about???? I don't know a single person who is anywhere close to being a white extremist. The Southern Poverty Center says there are less than 5000 KKK members in the U.S....(5000 too many) Where are all these hate crimes happening? I never hear of them. You are quoting invalid sources.

In another horrific terrorist attack by another young white supremacist, Dylann Roof shot and killed nine people in a predominantly black church in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015. The Bible is MUCH more violent than the Qu'ran. Christianity is the bloodiest religion in the history of the world. We've been killing Muslims at a rate of 8 every minute. Christians have been killing Muslims in Afghanistan since 1838. Christians in Germany sent 6 million to the gas chambers. Christians are the only ones in history to drop atomic weapons on a civilian population. American Christians shoot each other at a rate of 93 every single day.

Oh please...Muslims conquered all of N Africa, Spain, and much of France...violently...until they were repelled in the Crusades.

The OT "God" doesn't exist? Doesn't matter? You opted for the kinder, gentler, God?
No, Christians use rifles from 36 stories up to kill 59 and injure over 500 unaware, unarmed, innocent people. The rest of the time they do it remotely via the USAF.
White men...apex humans.
It took this American to do what ISIS can only dream of.

Huh? Where? You're full of sh!t...and it still doesn't compare to the violence of blacks in the inner cities. The inner cities are no-go zones even for police. The inner cities are perpetual killing fields.
And the New Testament was after Christ's death. There is no contemporaneous account of Christ. All of the Gospels were written years after the historical Jesus was dead for decades. You pose the wrong question. Worse yet you seem unable to answer your own question.
What I would say, is that it is God alone ,who can make that judgment without equivocation about each of us.
