Looking to buy Flood insurance (voluntary - not in a flood zone), Hurricane/high wind insurance and comprehensive sinkhole insurance. What are your experiences? Who would you recommend? Who to avoid? Approximate costs?
Thanks in advance.

We have ASI through The Villages Insurance. ASI now offers a flood endorsement in a non flood zone attached to our policy. The cost for us was $248 for the year. There are some restrictions such as 2 or more properties have to be flooded, 1 of those can be a road, etc. The deductible was low. Your agent can give you all the details. We didn't need to shop around, so I can't offer further information.

We also have ASI through The Villages Insurance with no flood but everything else for our 2014 house. Our insurance cost through ASI have increased $23 for the 2018 year. Not bad!

Thomas Insurance (ask for Kate) in Fruitland Park! If your home has the possibility of getting the additional sinkhole coverage outside of the catastrophe sinkhole coverage, Kate would be the one to work on that for you. They also offer flood insurance and all other types of insurance that you may need for your house, Car and Golf Cart. AAA also can provide the additional sinkhole coverage and the same items that Thomas insurance can provide. These are my two go to companies for insurance!
