Are there any health care professionals here who work with ketogenic way of eating?
Also are there any support groups for people doing this lifestyle?

Have you seen this website? Loads of really good information and recipes for this diet. 14-day keto diet plan - Diet Doctor (https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/keto/diet-plan)
I became interested in this because I bought a DASH diet book which is very similar to Keto, followed it, found it extremely easy to do and lost 12 1/2 lbs without even trying. Then I saw something in the paper about a guy who was leading a group here in TV. Of course, I cannot now find his information, but I will and when I do I will pm it to you.

I think the original thinking on this way of eating started with Dr. Atkins. www.atkins.com (http://www.atkins.com)There are online support groups.

It is quite different from Dr Atkins...both are low carb but Atkins is much higher protein.

It's based on 20 grams of carbs a day, very similar to the Ketogenic diet you're interested in. It's actually the Atkins induction phase. She's a great administrator. You'll find much information, recipes and encouragement. She's not a professional but one who's lost around 150 pounds herself and enjoying every minute of it!
