We would like feedback from users of the classified section on how long a classified should run before we auto remove it from the classifieds?

Just my own personal experiencing selling items, I would suggest auto-remove after 60 days. Most of my items have sold within a week. In one instance, it sold several hours after my initial listing.

My vote would be a week. If it hasn't sold by then, it probably won't sell.

I think 90 days is long enough. It may help cover some of the time when the seasonal residents are here or may be short enough to miss them if that's the object of the ad. Just a thought.

Classified ads should be posted for 30 days then removed. That same item could then be re-posted for another 30 days if not already sold. The 30 day removal should trigger a message to the people who are doing the posting that their item has been removed, and include instructions on how to re-enter the item if desired.

Please limit featured posts. A garage sale to 1 month . Garage sales don't last 66 days.

One month should be more than sufficient for most items. Real Estate could be 60 or 90 days.

60 days should be enough. Perhaps a simple email to the poster to renew or remove . Would also like to see better editing of pics . Too many sideways or upside down . Is this the poster's doing?

90 days for real estate. 30 days for items for sale.

I think if something isn't sold in 6 mos it should be removed. Items sold should be removed as they are sold.

I agree with 60 days as long enough. It should also be noted in the instructions how to delete or mark "SOLD" on items.

I'd be for a 45 day posting. Also what wizard1839 says makes great sense. My only add would be 45 days as opposed to 30 days.

Good point on the part-time residents.
In June, I was fortunate to sell my vehicle, and have a cashier's check in hand within 4 hours of posting my ad.

We would like feedback from users of the classified section on how long a classified should run before we auto remove it from the classifieds?I would say 30 days should be fine. More importantly it would be nice if classifies worked on Chrome. You can bring up classifies but if you click on an individual one no details come up. I have to cut and paste the address into IE.

I like the Facebook Marketplace option of every 7 days to either relist item, mark as sold or delete it. Keeps the seller engaged and responsible for their listings.

I cannot access the classified ads by replying or sending an email if they don't have their phone number listed or posted or an email I have no way to contact them. Am I doing something wrong? Please advise.

Give it time to sell, remove and then have an opportunity to re-post.

How does one contact the seller? There is no listing for a phone number or e-mail address on the advertisement.

The classified postings should be left for no more than 30 days. After 30 days, the listings get stale, and for the buyer you end up making lots of calls of items already sold, and the seller is getting calls for something thats been sold weeks earlier. After 30 days, if the seller still hasn't sold their listing, they can always repost their listing. Besides if items aren't sold after 30 days, they stay hidden on page 22 and nobody sees it.

Seller should delete when their item(s) are sold. If they don't ... then 30 days max.

Agree with Wizard1839. People don't delete items that sold, makes it a nightmare trying to find something..

Automatically remove the item after 90 days with an email notice to the person that posted the item for sale.

I think 2 months is long enough for classifieds to run before taking them out. Although, I think you should notify the person running the ad to let them know, in order for them to repost the ad again, if so desired.

I agree with 60 days. Most items are no longer available after 60 days and it's frustrating calling and finding out it's not available! Also, why do people mark their items "SOLD"? Just remove it!!

I think an item should remain on the site for 60 days. I actually had someone purchase an item I had listed over a month previously. The customer did a search for a specific item and found my listing.

Thanks for asking my opinion. I use the classifieds often. I have sold and purchased items through this site.

diane50

I think 30 days is sufficient, my items have sold long before that and I get kind of annoyed when shopping because people don't remove items when they sell so you wind up going through pages and pages of items that have been on forever. I think if something isn't selling, could be the price and it can always be reposted.

I voted 60 days because twice, after I thought an item was not going to sell, I had a buyer. I also want to state my opinion as to the "featured items". There is so much to go through before reaching the new listings that I rarely check it anymore. I realize that I can specify new items but it takes additional time to do that so I don't take the time. Also, is it possible to have a continuous page without having to go page after page. It takes forever to go from one page to the next. I used to check the new listings daily but it takes so long now, it's no fun so I rarely even sign in.
