It's all about the money. Stop buying into pro sports if don't like what their doing. But we know the sports crazed wannabe's will continue to swallow. Just like they made veteran do. the liberal ran technology in control. FB! Google, Yahoo!, tweeter, and now the NFL. Add in the news media NYT, WP, MSNBC, cbs, abc, NBC, ESPN. NPR! Fairywood, And about 100 more. This what you get. They are not making dime off me.

This issue is a symptom of a wider problem. This is about NBA AND NFL players many, whom have been pampered since high school, given special attention, full scholarships, etc.that by time they reach the pro's they believe themselves demigods.
the solution of course is instead of cultivating these ingrates in schools establish a minor leagues as does MLB. I do not see many demigods in the MLB
The unspoken truth is that many of those NFL players protesting with, in the absence of football/basketball as a career would be in jail or on the streets.

The problem I have is that I love watching the Patriots play every week. I've been watching them for years and it is a very enjoyable part of my life. Now, because of a handful of idiots, I'm supposed to give that up?
I can't help but feeling that if I stop watching, they somehow win.

Trump is just playing a game with this matter. I doubt if he has ever cared all that much about the US flag or the US Constitution and the US values it is supposed to represent.

How do you come to the conclusion Trump is playing a game and does not care much for the flag or what it stands for?
Did the numbers indicate it??

Time for a lesson on the Consitution! Before the 2nd Amendment of the Consitution, which we all know about, and apparently, cannot be altered in any way there is the 1st amendment which states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Free speech takes many forms, in this case, the NFL players taking a knee during the National Anthem is a form of free speech. You may not like it and I may not like it but it is their Constitutional right to do so. It is NOT disrespecting the flag.
Trump is playing a game, its called WAG THE DOG! His poll numbers are in the crapper! He could start a war, that is always good for poll numbers, oh snap, he is trying that with Rocket Man. Or he could try distraction, look over here at this shiny object, these guys HATE THE UNITED STATES!
So he sends Mike Pence off to Indy, at the expense of the taxpayers, to walk into the game wait for the National Anthem and walk out in PROTEST of the protest. The VP told the Press pool not to come with him because he wouldn't be long.

Yes it IS their right...nobody goes to prison for not standing when the flag goes by...people do it all the time.
BUT...if it DOES bother you...your "free speech" is NOT buying tickets, not watching the game, and speaking up to sponsors. THEY will then weigh their options...and determine what they will do. Which then offers you another choice...support them of not.
It IS disrespect when it's customary to stand. WHY do you think he/they are doing it? It's like turning away when someone tries to greet you.

Or, Mike Pence legitimately attended a colts game, and walked out because he truely felt the country's flag was being disrespected...but he, of all people, is not entitled to the same free speech that the football players are?
And there is no "may not" in my mind, I do not support any free speech that disrespects this country's flag, veterans, active military personnel, or our anthem. If you guys want to be wishy washy about it...go ahead, but I have not watched a single minute of NFL since last fall (The first time the NFL decided to broadcast the insult).

Trump let the cat out of the bag when he tweeted he told Pence to do it. PS, kneeling does not disrespect the flag, the anthem, the veterans, or anything else. These players are TRYING to bring attention to the fact that cops shoot blacks 2.5% times more than whites, police brutality is indeed a thing.

Blacks vs. Police – GOPUSA (http://www.gopusa.com/?p=31162?omhide=true)
Black people need to find new heroes. Right now, at least in terms of the support given, their heroes are criminals such as Baltimore’s Freddie Gray, Ferguson’s Michael Brown and Florida’s Trayvon Martin. Black support tends to go toward the criminals in the community rather than to the overwhelming number of people in the community who are law-abiding. That needs to end. What also needs to end is the lack of respect for and cooperation with police officers. Some police are crooked, but black people are likelier to be victims of violent confrontations with police officers than whites simply because blacks commit more violent crimes than whites per capita.

The NFL players do have 1st Amendment rights to protest. what they lack is common sense. Who would upset better than half their fan base with a stunt like this? Its like they had a hammer in their hand and said "I'll show them and then hit themselves on the head with the hammer.
an ESPN sportscaster characterized Jerry Jones as a slaveowner. How many slave owners pay their slaves millions of dollars for playing a kid's game
Both California teams are struggling to gain fan base. the stadiums at many locations have many empty seats. My daughter went to a Jets game and said it was only half full.
The other untold story has to deal with concussions and the after affects . It would seem if players wanted to protest that might be the "ideal " issue.

Good one Rock -- only a "female" would say something like that a expect to get away with it.
Meanwhile:
Property Rights Analysis: the players are employees under contract. If the contract calls for "standing", or the boss says "stand", they stand or get fired.
I know this is short and terse, but (1) I've been fighting the idiots of Femo-Fascim for weeks, (2) this is how Property Rights (Liberty) deals with the issue.

The NFL anthem kerfuffle debating points:
a) Constitutionally-protected speech can still get you fired, especially if you do it in the workplace. If you want a quick demonstration of this very salient fact, try wearing a “David Duke ’92” campaign shirt into work on dress-down Friday and see what happens.
b) There’s already an “uproar” over the national anthem, and it’s coming from the NFL’s consumers — you know, the fine people that have made Colin Kaepernick, et al millionaires. If Kaepernick, et al do not think so, maybe they should ask why Roger Goodell went from embracing the protests to rather unsubtly telling players to knock it off in the span of two short weeks. Spoiler alert: It’s not because America agrees with the protesters.
c) The NFL is under no compunction to subsidize the political activities of any of its players at the expense of its bottom line. There are plenty of opportunities for constructive political engagement that do not involve disrespecting the anthem, the flag and those who have fought for it every Sunday, Monday and/or Thursday.
d) The NFL is a private organization. If its executives say that players must stand for the national anthem, players must stand for the national anthem. If Kaepernick, et al do not want to, they are free to find another line of work.
Personal Best Regards:
