People within the White House suggest conditions behind the scenes are worse than Americans probably realize. In April, one presidential adviser said his job was to “talk him out of doing crazy things.” In August, another added, “You have no idea how much crazy stuff we kill.”
Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) said this week, “I know for a fact that every single day at the White House, it’s a situation of trying to contain him.”
“You either had to just convince him something better was his idea or ignore what he said to do and hoped he forgot about it the next day,” said Barbara Res, a former executive in the Trump Organization.
At the Washington Post, Dan Drezner recently helped document each of the times White House officials have characterized the president in ways that make him sound like a small child. The fact that his list is in constant need of updates is terrifying.

I hear you. We should have understood what kind of leader this was from the conduct unbecoming he displayed during the Republican primaries. The worst of the 17 stellar candidates got the most votes. Very sad state of affairs in America when demagoguery wins out like this. And he is still manipulating.

You believe that? You think Trump got to where he is...by being a child? By acting like a child? By having really stupid ideas? You believe that?
You naive ignorant people...what WON'T you believe?
Still believe the races are equal? Still believe the genders are equal? Still believe in the man who lives in space?

"stellar candidates"??? You're joking right? EVERY one of them was a crook...willing to do the parties dirty work...that's WHY they were all up there. Trump didn't get onto the ticket because HE wanted to. The R party PUT him there because he's/he'd be working for/with them. They don't put "just anybody" on the ballot.
Come on...start thinking with your brain.

The word is that Mattis, Tillerson, or Kelly would literally tackle Trump if he lunges for the nuclear football.

I sure hope so. This man should be no where near nuclear weapons.

Because Trump is undermining our democratic norms and processes in so many ways, it is often easy to focus on each of them in isolation, rather than as part of the same larger story. But, taken together, they point to a possible climax in which Trump, cornered by revelations unearthed by Robert S. Mueller III’s probe and by ongoing media scrutiny, seeks to rally his supporters behind the idea that this outcome represents not the imposition of accountability by functioning institutional safeguards, but rather an effort to steal the election from him — and from them. Daniel Drezner has assembled a list—now at 115 items and counting—of news stories in which the president’s own aides or political allies talk about him as if he’s a “toddler.” White House aides can’t stop talking about President Trump like he’s a toddler [UPDATED] - The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/posteverything/wp/2017/08/21/the-trump-as-toddler-thread-explained-and-curated/?utm_term=.10dccd882894)

Since it came up here tonight, explain how all these so called PATRIOTS foaming at the mouth to blame the NFL for all the things wrong.
How does a patriot ignore their President lying in our Oval Office, and dismantling that office with the lies ?
How can you even say the word patriot when you tolerate that ? Why don't you choke on those words ?
To pretend to love your country, and you are pretending if you allow to happen what is happening ?
Does not matter the Party, if you allow a President to disgrace that office....AND LETS BE CLEAR, MY REMARKS ARE NOT AIMED AT ANY POLICIES BECAUSE HE HAS NONE..HE IS AN ENGINE IF HATE.....if you allow and endorse his terrible conduct which thus far has given us ZERO legislation, ZERO effort at pulling the country together, ruining our reputation throughout the world, etc..then NEVER THINK YOU ARE A PATRIOT because that would be obscene.
To feign all this anger over the flag, while the CINC mocks war heros, lies about anything he wants, makes false PERSONAL ACCUSATIONS is about as phony as you get.

Nope, will be discounted as fake news. It’s his scapegoat, just as Hitler used the Jews.

The well-documented chaos in the White House reflects both the difficulty faced by anyone who seeks to impose discipline on the President, and Trump's own inability to cope with people he cannot bully. The four most competent people in his circle, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary James Mattis, economic adviser Gary Cohn and Chief of Staff John Kelly appear to be fighting against Trump's chaos, for the good of the country.
Remarkably, we are not hearing senators rushing to contradict Corker's claim that his fellow Republicans are concerned about Trump's mental state. This indicates that while they may fear Trump's wrath, they are also worried.
The most arresting inside evaluation of Trump's condition came from his longtime friend and fellow real estate mogul Tom Barrack, who told The Washington Post he has been "shocked" and "stunned" by Trump's recent behavior, even as he says he still believes the President is "better than this." In the same interview, Barrack told the Post he has been able to be Trump's friend, and to disagree with him, because "I've never needed anything from him."
