Question for dog owners. Does anyone know the best thing to put down for dogs in the yard of a CYV? Reason I'm asking is our dog does itch a lot and wondering if it makes a difference in having grass in yard or something better in yard to avoid flea's etc. We now have a place by Ft Meyers and when down in Florida the dog goes nuts. We have tried every different flea control available and nothing changes.
We are hoping that when we move to TV that it will be better for her. With that said, we need to do anything possible to help her when we move.

Is it truly fleas or an allergy which is very common here in the south. Allergy meds are available from your vet.

Really it's both and we do try treatments for that also. Whichever is causing the itching all suggestion from vets so far have not worked.
She is fine when up in Michigan, any idea's will help.
Thanks,
aj

When we came down here in the 80"s we has a german shepard and he itched till blood came the vet was no help. We tried everything. One day I was in Walgreens getting shampoo for my self I pick up a bottle of Tar shampoo for the dog....problem solved still using it today.

Our vet down here prescribed one allergy tablet (antihistamine) a day for our 100 lb Shepard-Chow. It worked great. We used the Publix allergy tablets 25mg.
