I have quite a few medical equipment items, such as hospital bed, portable and ceiling mount Hoyer lifts, tilting padded shower chair, etc.
Does anyone know of an organization that purchases used medical equipment?
Most of it has never been used.

I don't know of any places that purchase used medical equipment, but I do know that some Goodwill Stores deal with that sort of thing. It would be a tax deductible donation on your part.

Call the VFW....think I read something about them having items on hand for folks to rent or borrow.
I'm sure there is an agency here that could help as well. Don't do the thrift shops unless it's a last resort.

Reading between the lines (and here's hoping I'm wrong)...my condolences. :(
You might also try calling Hospice and see if they know of a way to sell your equipment.

I think the American Legion (on Rolling Acres) has a medical supply "closet" that loans medical (durable) equipment to Veterans who are in need. I don't know for sure, but it may well be tax deductible.

First, I am sorry for your loss, if that is the case.
If you can't find a market for it, you can donate to Helping Hands (352)973-2284 or American Legion on Rolling Acres. Either would be thrilled to have that equipment to loan out (for free) to someone who needs it. I would assume either would be tax deductible, but do not know for certain.

As a donation, you might want to try the ALS Assoc. I know when I dealt with ALS patients as a Case Manager, sometimes it was difficult to get a hospital bed right away and the ALS Assoc would lend them out if they had them where I am from in Texas. I would think it would be the same in Florida. The Florida Chapter # is 813-637-9000.
Selling you might want to try Durable Medical Equipment(DME) companies in the area. You might also want to try Home Health companies to see if they have any ideas as to selling the equipment. Good Luck and I hope all works out.

Where did you purchase from. At times they might have an idea for you to sell
