Conservatives are overwhelmingly inclined to choose to watch Fox. At the same time, they’re also disinclined to watch anything else. Fox churns out falsehoods that conservatives readily accept because conservatives maintain their beliefs against challenges by limiting their experiences and surrounding themselves with sources of information that will tell them they are right. Fox takes advantage of this mindset to program stories that feed into it.
Fox keeps constantly in their minds the idea that the rest of the media are “biased” against them, and conservatives duly respond by saying other media aren’t worth watching—it’s just a pack of lies.

Let's make sure we are speaking of conservatives.

Donald Trump is not a conservative, but an alt right extremist.

Fox News is not even close to conservative. They used to be, but Trump now "owns" them philosophically and they are the master at conspiracy theories.

Earlier today, a Trump supporter kept pushing (in a nice way) and ias researching and reading up. Found this quote from a fellow who used to work at Breitbart, Ben Shapiro.

He made a great case about conservatives...the real and the extreme alt right.

"Constitutional conservatives can’t stand the alt-right. Conservatives — real conservatives — believe that only a philosophy of limited government, God-given rights and personal responsibility can save the country. And that creed is not bound to race or ethnicity.

Broad swaths of the alt-right, by contrast, believe in a creed-free, race-based nationalism, insisting, among other things, that birth on American soil confers superiority. The alt-right sees limited-government constitutionalism as passé; it holds that only nationalist populism on the basis of shared tribal identity can save the country. It’s a movement shot through with racism and anti-Semitism."

Fox did at one time represent the conservative movement, but,....well evidenced the last few days has been Wall to wall coverage of the Weinstein story, which has NO significance to anyone but extreme alt right bloggers.

Fox now stands with the Trump/extremist group. Fact is, the conspiracy theories that are now aired on there are embarrassing.

This used to be my go to network, but it is pretty much controlled by the ?..well, the Hannity/Trump crew.

Fox is the inventor of fake news.

Not much of a spark in you there 'ol sparky...eh?

FOX did NOT invent fake news...fake news has been around as long as people had language and began manipulating others with it.

FOX is the yang to the liberal ying...it's sole purpose is manipulation, to divide the population. There used to be LOTS of "conservatives"...that's why the media was liberal...to counter the conservativeness of the white population. The population is changing and conservative whites weren't the majority any more...they were being edged out by the women/minorities. So, FOX came along to "boost" the conservative presence to "equalize" the two political sides. It has to be kept in balance to keep us adequately divided. Too many on either side causes them problems. That's why presidencies go back and forth...you don't get 24 years straight of democrats.

It's all fixed. The political system is fixed, controlled.

EVERY time you "vote"...if you vote D or R, you're voting for someone who has been vetted by the party and will work for the party, work with the party. That's just the way it is. The D or R party doesn't put a "rogue" on their ticket. They won't run ANYONE if they don't have a corrupt guy to run.

Running as an independent is almost impossible...because the system is fixed. Even legitimate 3rd parties CAN'T get on the ballot in some states because of the rules.

You don't have a choice when you vote. They own BOTH the candidates.

More about Trump vs. Reagan.

Under no conditions would Reagan have engaged in the sort of cultural warfare that has consumed Trump America. If he were around today, Reagan would feel that Trump is practicing bad politics. Even worse, it is lousy showbiz.

Democrats and liberals are definitely less inclined to choose Fox than other sources, but spread their interest across the other outlets when it came to news. But Republicans and conservatives overwhelmingly chose Fox for hard news and even for soft news, and ignore other sources.

I have been watching FOX for many many years, and the changes there are startling.

Not one commentary show, and most are that goes 15 minutes without blasrpting what they refer to as leftists. I never have heard, or certainly not much of blasting Fox simply because they are on the right.

Their choice of coverage has dramatically changed. This week, almost exclusively, they headline the Weinberg story with a picture of he and a Clinton. That is fair...see it in all networks, but on Fox, it is headlined, followed by sub stories on it.

Maybe he has changed, but Shep Smith was the only news show I have found on Fox. They are very open about pursuit of any conspiracy theory.

They are no longer conservative. They are radical extreme alt right

You are correct in that Democrats and liberals are less inclined to choose Fox, but wrong in thinking that moderates and conservatives don't watch all news. You keep choosing biased to the left sources. Use Reuters or Vox. They are more credible. You are being an example of a biased news watcher. Watch Fox some and see. It won't make you into a Republican but you can see that you are prejudging something that you know little about first hand.

I'm on Fox Facebook all the time. Today, yesterday, and the day before, there were a lot of stories about Hillary Clinton. Fox continues to pound Clinton. Why?? The election was a year ago, almost. My guess is, they don't want to cover Trump's latest escapades. Although Cavuto did see fit to chastise Trump. “Last time I checked, you are the president of the United States, so tweeting out these tacky insults just seems beneath you,” he said on his show last week. “You are running out of friends faster than you are running out of time. You might not like Bob Corker, but a lot of senators do, and you need those senators, sir.”

Interesting, but definitely remissive of ALL the facts. FOX NEWs network has been number one all these years BECAUSE of viewership of liberals. Half of FOX's viewership consists of a combination of liberals and Independents.

Fox thanks you for making them number one.

Some how I thought you might be a big Farcebook fan. Oh all those encrypted posts by your "friends", such as "it really sucks when one of your BFFs stab you in the back"...OMG who is she talking about? What happened? Glad it was her and not me! Whole lot of drama there (Rockface would fit in well).

Maybe Fox is still pounding her because they feel she should have been locked up for the direct lies she told to congression committee, the media, and the American people about her disregard of safeguard laws with respect to classified information bring sent thru personal server and personal devices. She probably added Russia with classified intel...Crooked Hillary is a deplorable.

Bob Corker is looking out for Bob Corker...I don't have a lot of praise to give for any Senators, I feel they all promise the world when running and then take care of their friends and themselves...leaving me to pay $1300 a month for healthcare (it was $750 a month prior to Obammacare).

I suppose you post a lot of pics to Instagram too...have you discovered the photo filter that trims a few unwanted pounds off?

Now it's going to be silence at Fox. Also, since the Trump Tower server that was communicating directly with Russia was seized by the FBI, you don't hear anymore about Hillary's server. Fox used to be so very careful with this stuff in the past. Conspiracy theories, it seems, will always be alive at the network, but in the past they were treated as such.

Now that they know the President will pick them up and announce to the world all of this crap, it has gotten so much worse. He is actually promoting Fox and Friends and Hannity in their career of such nonsense.

But....here he goes again......

"If you're keeping score at home, the president is now questioning whether a federal law enforcement agency paid for a dossier on his ties to Russia, essentially organizing an information war against him—possibly in coordination with a foreign power and his domestic political adversaries. Does Trump have any proof of this he didn't find on Fox News? Well, let's see.

Fusion GPS, the Washington-based strategic intelligence firm that commissioned the dossier, has been turned into a political football—a shadowy organization that could be funded by anyone, Fox News will happily tell you. At the same time it was compiling the dossier, Fusion was doing separate work for American law firm Baker Hotstetler, which was defending Russia-linked Prevezon Holdings against a civil action from the U.S. government alleging fraud. This has been seized upon by Fox (and, thus, the president) as proof Fusion has Russian ties, even though it is quite common for Washington's hired guns to work on behalf of a diverse array of clients, some of which may even have somewhat contradictory interests.

The Fox-Trump claim got more ammunition with the revelation that Donald Trump, Jr.'s infamous meeting in Trump Tower looking for dirt on Hillary Clinton was with a Kremlin-linked lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, who was also working for Baker Hotstetler on the Prevezon case. But as The Washington Post broke down in detail, none of this is evidence that the firm took money from the Russian government at the time it was compiling the dossier. It is all innuendo. And Trump went a step further this morning: He implied the Russians paid for The Dossier directly. There isn't even innuendo to support that."

President Trump Is Once Again Sweating About 'The Dossier' (http://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a13050783/trump-russia-dossier-twitter/)

BUT THE MEDIA MAKES UP THINGS ABOUT HIM.

Still waiting for all the folks on here with all the many many accusations against posters and the media to fess up and show something, but nothing and there will be nothing.

Do you folks not get embarassed when these things are used by him simply to fire you up and he knows you dont care if it is true or not ?

Today Trump revived and Fox jumped all over that old, tired, multimillion times debunked uranium story. This was, apparently, an attempt to deflect from the Gold Star family and the mysterious presence of our Green Berets in Africa. Trump tries to change the subject from 'he knew what he signed up for' to uranium (https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/10/19/1708104/-Trump-tries-to-change-the-subject-from-he-knew-what-he-signed-up-for-to-uranium?detail=emaildkre)

Don Baldwin needs to do a DNA test. When he finds out he's a certain percentage African he might shut up. And Don---most people are a certain percentage African. That's where the human race originated. All Africans under the Skin - National Geographic Society (https://www.nationalgeographic.org/activity/all-africans-under-the-skin/)

The beat goes on, and I would understand defense by silence over political ideaology or viewpoint.

But, this is silence relative to a mean spirited President. Frankly, well they obviously care more about defending or protecting Trump than my country, but. Am not going to be silent while this person simply deceives everybody.

To NOT hold the President accountable for his honesty, conduct and words is treasonous.

If my words had to do with policy, or Party, it is overstated, but this is pretty basic Americanism, which is not lying, deceiving, attacking simply to bully.

No...actually...they are not. Negros are part of a different more archaic "human" line.

Look it up... Go ahead. Negros are up to 1/20th DIFFERENT genetically than EVERYONE else.

MOST people are NOT part "Negro". That is a lie...propaganda.
