Arrived a week ago for my first visit to TV a.k.a. Oz, in the short period of time, I have met the most wonderful people, made great friends, and had the time of my life! :pepper2:.
For those who wrote asking how I like TV is an easy question and answer. I admit the night we arrived, we were exhausted from our trip and it was dark. Nonie and Kathie offered to meet us and help us find Duval, but being late, I didnt want to bother them. Long story short, we were lost for 1 1/2 hours, finally found a guard at one of the gates and gave us great directions and we found our rental, and the car died in the driveway from an empty gas tank!. I was very overwhelmed by the size of TV and tired so I was thinking "uhoh Jeanne...what have you gotten yourself into" :cryin2:.
:blahblahblah: I got a good nights sleep, and woke up in HEAVEN, surrounded by the most wonderful angels I ever met! :mademyday:. My son and I hopped in the golf cart and were blown away by the beauty of TV. Immediately I knew this would be my home for the rest of my life! By day...I searched for a home, by night I had a ball with all of my wonderful new friends. :beer3:.
Effective yesterday, I have purchased a home, papers signed and will close in 11 days!!!! :MOJE_whot:. I dont have a doubt in my mind that it was the best decision I ever made..
For all those considering TV, you must visit and see this amazing place, you will love it!!
Today is the first day I am taking a break, hoping it will sink in that I actually live in this beautiful place! :coolsmiley:.

Jeanne,
What exciting and wonderful news! I'm so happy for you and it sounds like you are having a great time.
Where did you buy and what type home? I hope it is close to us so Buddy and Murphy can come over and play with Halle and Syndey when we are there.
Talk to you soon and see you in December.

Congratulations JeanneBeannie! Initially your son and friends from back home must have thought you were crazy. After your son's visit, did he KNOW it was right for you? He must have been as overwhelmed as you and maybe even moreso at your welcoming party(ies).
Since you have finally seen TV you now understand why it is soooooo incredibly difficult to describe in one, two or even three descriptive words or phrases. TV is a crazy great place for retired people who want to have fun. :loco:
I receive e-mails from time to time from my soon to be next door neighbor (debokla) in TV who tells me she has to schedule breaks on her calendar.
You deserve to be happy and I am truly glad you have found your Emerald City in TV! :clap2:

Jeanne, one gets overwhelmed and awestruck when first arriving in TV even in the daytime...I can only imagine how overwhelmed you must have felt when you first arrived at night. BUT, that is behind you now and nuttin' but good things ahead!
Congrats on your new home! :coolsmiley: How exciting it must be to know that you will soon be settled in your very own home! :MOJE_whot::MOJE_whot:
How are your furbuddies adjusting?
Keep us updated on what all you are doing. Us "wannabees" love to hear it! :blahblahblah::popcorn:

JeanneBeannie is the greatest! She seems like a kid in a candy store. She walks around with a huge smile on her face. I wish her the very best here in The Villages. Julie...she is moving very close to us...:)

JeanneBeannie,
Congratulations on your move to TV and on finding a home. Now that you and Nonie have left upstate New York to go to TV, I'm here by myself facing another New York winter. :cold: Hopefully, it be my last.
Today was a beautiful fall day in New York. Nice and sunny with a high in the low 60's. But now that the sun is setting its starting to get cold fast. :cold:

Congrats Jeanne! We are renting a villa right now in Poinciana...maybe you bought in this area? Of course, we will be moving out Nov. 5th....but we are still really close. Hemingway is just a little further south. Let me know if you need any help when you are moving in. We will be here for another couple of weeks, so should still be here when you close. Had a great time meeting you at Kathie's party! Next party is at your place!!!!!!

Hi Jeannie,
If you are in Poinciana, you will be not far from me too! I'm in St. Charles not far from Debokla. We closed this week and will be gradually moving in over the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to meeting you!
It has been quite a journey, hasn't it?

Jeannie: I know the feeling you are experiencing right now. It's difficult to even sleep at night, right? This is a great place. And now, you are here, which makes it even nicer. So glad you three muskateers made it to Gator Joe's tonight. What a great sunset, good food, and finally, a decent breeze. Welcome and congratulations on the purchase of your new home. Yipppppeeeeeee.

Poor Ms. Jeannie, the first thing to go wrong was her computer. That's why she's not responding. Tomorrow morning we will be going to get it fixed for her. She's having 'puter withdrawals and wants to say so much to everyone but can't. We'll get her up and running really soon.
Jeannie is having a great time hanging with all of us. She's like a sista already and is enjoying the good life in TV.
Jersey, you forgot to add the bloody "blind mosquitos" who supposedly DON'T BITE!?!? But it sure was a fun night and we're glad we made it and didn't get lost...LOL!!

Jeannie Beanie - so nice to have met you and I'm glad you could join the rest of us at Gator Joe's last night. We all say over and over - where would we all be if we hadn't heard of TV??? And most of all, what wonderful new friends we have made here mostly through TOTV and what a great time every single day. It's amazing. Welcome, welcome, welcome!!!

Thank you so much everyone for your well wishes on my adventure. I am finally up and running on the computer, sorry it took me so long to thank you all.
I am now in my new home and absolutely love it!! Thanks to Nonie and Kathie for taking me shopping...I have all my furniture set in place, just need the lanai and spare bed rm./office and I will be all set! They delivered my golf cart and the mattress comes today. Tomorrow I will venture out and explore in my golf cart, I am sure I will get lost, but I am sure I will have fun regardless hehe.
I absolutely love everything about TV, it is way way more than I ever could have imagined and more....it truly is "The Land of Oz" and I am changing my name to Dorothy :1rotfl: .
Thank you again!! :mademyday:

Jeanne, CONGRATS on your new life! You're a brave lady, making that move without having first visited. I've now visited twice, and can't imagine anyone not liking/loving The Villages. I'm curious, what model golf cart did you purchase?
