I wonder why the stock market is going crazy this week? (rhetorical) Is it just fantastic leadership from Trump or the fact the market knows the Senate is supporting the big spending spree and largest tax cut in American history. (Trump’s phrase not mine). I have a hard time believing the majority of Americans are ok with the debt we are leaving for our grandkids. I for one an really having a hard time telling my children to continue putting as much money as they can into 401K. I honestly believe we have a legal Ponzi scheme is going to turn south, hard. Am I missing something?

I’m just glad I sold my house up north before the poop hits the Wall St. fan.

I'm out of stocks for now, but thinking of investing in Lockheed...defense stocks...futures are going nowhere. Sitting on cash right now, not even bonds.

What are you waiting for? You are missing the party. No guts, no glory

Futures are going nowhere? Are you referring to equity futures (i.e, options) or commodity futures? If you are referring to equity options, and you feel that they (depending on the sector), "are going nowhere' (range bound?), why not invest in vertical, calendar or diagonal credit spreads?

Everything's pretty high right now. Not sure of the direction I'll go, I don't like to sit on cash but think the market will tank in a few months. It's sure to if the Republicans don't figure out tax cuts by the end of the year.

Because I'm not any kind of expert in the market. And I don't pretend to be, I'm just an average Joe. Made most of my money in real estate. That I know about, I can control it, touch it, change it, and most important, I enjoy it. So I'm just smart enough to stay away from things I don't understand, lol.

Good for you. It's a rigged casino. They know ALL the bets and can control prices up or down almost at will. Pump and dump is a favorite.

I sure hope congress just ignores him...the national debt is not something to simply ignore
"As a New York businessman, Donald Trump proudly referred to himself as the "King of Debt" -- he thrived on taking financial risks and routinely leveraged debt to grow his family empire.
I'm the king of debt. I love debt," Trump told CNN's Wolf Blitzer in May 2016 at the height of the campaign -- blunt and telling comments that revealed just how comfortable the real estate mogul was in using debt as a financial tool.
As GOP lawmakers are struggling to enact an agenda of spending and tax reform, they continue to face the painful reminder that Trump has no ideological drive to tame the deficit. The President has made clear that he doesn't mind if deep tax cuts result in a ballooning of the national debt. He is not pre-occupied with offsetting new spending; and he is entirely comfortable with a clean raising of the debt ceiling."
