On the recommendation of another TOTV member I recently purchased Plantation Shutters from Carl Seigal of Blinds Plus Shutters. He was very easy to work with and made the purchase very easy. His number is 352-430-7200. Good Luck!

Patches,
We also bought from Carl and recommended him. He works with no real overhead so his prices are good - and the quality of work is excellent.

Thanks. I'm going to give Carl a call. Also checking out Home Depot and ordering online from American Blinds in MI. Anyone have any experience with either of these?

We also used Carl for plantation shutters... for every window except the sliding glass doors. His measurer/installer did a superb job.

I also used Carl Segal and was very pleased. We replaced our blinds with Plantation Shutters. Therefore I have blinds for the whole house sitting in my garage. They are only 1 year old and would like to sell them for a reasonable amount.

Got a quote from Rick at 48 hour blinds. Seems I read in previous thread that he is good. Any comments on him. Thanks

We have ordered many mini blinds and pleated shades from American Blinds and have been very happy with the cost, quality and service. I started ordering from them many years ago, when it took like six weeks to get an order from a window store, it took American Blinds just days.
Others seem very happy with Carl, so maybe compare prices and consider that Carl's are probably installed, and go from there. That is what we are likely to do when we get into our new to us home next month.

Had 4 estimates but Carl was waaaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive for what I wanted. I was referred to Rick of 48 Hour Blinds by virtually ALL of my new neighbors. He measured on Tuesday, made the blinds on Wednesday and installed them on Thursday before our movers got there. GREAT job and I would highly recommend him.

IN addition to blinds, if you are looking for something to cover 4 sliding glass doors, we have SHEER RADIANCE FABRIC VERTICALS .center opening...that are available. These verticals are only 2 years old come from a Designer home and need to remove them due to a remodel project.
We purchased blinds and window treatments from Kathy at Village Blind and Shutter......beware.
She said we couldn't have split window treatments (found out later we could have had with another vendor) and now...
months later, our front window blinds won't go down! Called them and they said they are not under warrenty of any kind!!!
When you are new...take your time. Best advise I can give you.

Yes, I would be interested in these, if they are within my "moving budget" . Send me a PM with price and if acceptable, I'll come look at them TODAY.

His name is Rick, his workroom is in Wildwood, and his phone number is: 330-7310. He helped me yesterday mount hardware for a window treatment job I had done. He does awesome, accurate work, at a VERY reasonable price. The home-owner loved him!!

wallmart 3.96$ for 35x84 that makes them disposal after 6 months instead of cleaning them. curtains family dollar. it looks neat and clean to me with minium expense and upkeept. but then again this from a single male perspective and i can be a little strange at times

What model is your home that you have a whole set of blinds for?

Yes, Rick, 48 Hr. Blinds installed our shutters, reasonable considering plantations are expensive no matter how you look at it - he did a fine job for us and price comparable. No regrets.

Rick is the best (48 hour blinds shutters).....I am thrilled with our plantation shutters and know Rick will stand behind his work. He also did our blinds. No, not employed by him. LOL Rick's number is 352-330-7310

Rick at 48 Hour Blinds (352-330-7310) did our whole house - mostly Plantation Shutters with some 2" faux wood blinds and verticals at the sliding doors. We are very happy with the service and the products! Rick responds quickly when you call, shows up when he says he will, and does a really nice job. Some friends told us what they had paid for their Plantation Shutters and our were less expensive and I think better quality. I definitely recommend that you at least call Rick for an estimate!

Upon many recommendations, I called Rick at 48 HR Blinds when we were there 2 weeks backs.
Our home will be ready on the 1st of November. While we were there, he came to the home we were staying in and gave us a reasonable quote & assured us that they will be installed in our new home the day we close. Can't ask for more.

Do you still need blinds & shutters? We just had some installed by 48 Hr. Blind Factory - they are in that crazy looking hot pink house/building in Wildwood (just off 301 & 466A)). The owner, Rick, was great! I got his name from a neighbor who had him do her home here as well as a previous home. That was good enough for me and we couldn't be happier with the quality of the shutters and the price. Good luck! (posted 11/3/10)
