So I go to my mail station today and what is the mail person doing ? Cleaning up someone's dog poop and to make it worse someone had stepped in it. Clean up after your animals or leave them home. Better yet don't own one if you Can't do the right thing.

Everyone knows to pick up after their pet. Some wil, some won’t. Just as some throw their cigarette butts on the golf course and along the road. Most of us are old enough to know the right thing to do but.....well, you know the rest of this story.

What? This post has been up for over half an hour and nobody has suggested that it was coyote poop because we have responsible dog owners in TV.

I disagree with the comment of "...some do and some don't..."
pick up after their dog.

It is more like 95% plus DO and the few entitled thinking, inconsiderate non-thinking folks do not!

However it seems our lives are inundated with the exceptions in life being treated as though they were general representation or conditions.

There is so much more good to talk about that some how consistently is over looked.

And lets not even discuss thise people who had to bring their dogs to the arts and crafts show today at SS. I love dogs but there is a place and time to leave your pet at home.

Too many people here think their pets need to come with them everywhere they go.

If you figures are correct, then the entire 5% of do nots live in Springdale, Woodbury, Chatham, Piedmont, and Calumet Grove. Now, to be clear, do you count among the DOs, those who pick up only to later dump the bag in the bushes or in a Postal trash can?

OK, I’ve never made a comment on a dog poop thread, but I just have to vent a little.
One morning last week I was having a coffee and bagel on the veranda of Panera when dog owners boxer
takes a dump right in the ground cover under the big oak no more than 15’ away.
It really was pretty unappetizing to say the least!
The guy did pick up the poop and that was as bad as the pooping. What he did with the bag-o-crap I do not know!
Then less than 5 minutes later a woman’s dog takes a dump right across the street in the ground cover over there,
she did pick it up and walked down a little in the direction of the lake and sneekely slipped her sweet package in a trash
container on the square.
I just seems to me that there are some really inconsiderate dog owners TV.

miss the whole point of the original post...it's about those that let their dogs squat where ever they want...it's ILLEGAL in the Villages...it's ILLEGAL in the county and it's ILLEGAL in the state. Call the CDD and report them. If you don't just be quiet.

If the dog’s gotta go, the dog’s gotta go.
Seems like these two dog owners were responsible. They both picked up after their dog. What should they have done differently.?

I may be wrong but I don’t think you are supposed to
put animal feces in the trash containers on the square!
The one owner sneakily slipped it in the trash,
she did look around to see if someone was watching though.
Obviously she thought it was wrong but not you!

And yes an dog has got to go, so why walk them in
an area where there isn’t a lot of grass
and also people eating!
Just not thoughtful or considerate.

Kinda tired of the dog poop posts, just like people were when I first got here and started ranting. Sad fact is, those that don't do the right thing, can't see that it's wrong and peg anyone that says otherwise as a dog hater. That being said, I did see a first last week at our mail station. A filled and nicely knotted dog poop bag just laying in the butt receptacle of the trash can that said "no animal feces please". I guess since they took that to mean INSIDE the trash, just leaving it in the butt tray would be alright! Wish I'd have seen them leave it.... SMH!!

I take Abby Gale behind the pool. Then I pick it up and bring it home and toss in the trash.

Now... since it goes in the trash, what is the problem with putting it in the trash in the square?

And further... since TV apparently, steadfastly and stupidly refuses to put a sensible recycling bin at the postal stations (which accumulate more paper recycling than some small nations), what's wrong with disposing of poop in those "trash" bins?

First of all I like dogs- I DO NOT OWN ONE.

It is an animal some people think it is a child.

For the lady who slipped the poop bag into the trash.
Would you rather she simply left it where it fell?

COMMON SENSE-rules are needed for those that are lacking.

The saturday farmers market in Brownwood. There are dogs all over the place where food is being sold. What to do? Two weeks ago some guy had a small white poodle or poodle mix. The dog, on a leash way too long to be controlled, the dog takes a dump. HE DID NOT PICK IT UP.
SURELY SOMEONE WOULD SHORTLY STEP IN IT. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN WRONG WHATEVER HE DID. Leave it there?
Pick it up and then continue to handle food that others would eat??????????

dogs poop by the pool!

FOR ME-life here is too close. With everyone looking up each others butts.

I like dogs but I do not own one.

Laws-People THINK laws do not apply to them. I don't smoke either. I expect the cigarette receptacle is to prevent FIRES in the main trash section.

As I said, I do not own a dog. BUT, for those who are forced to put up with this cr-p AND THOSE WHO LEAVE IT.
The fact is NEITHER side of the issue wants to deal with this dirt.

Your dogs instinct-It will not poop where it lives. THAT IS SANITATION-DISEASE PREVENTION.

Do you put it in the trash in your kitchen? I don’t think so!

I’m just against dogs pooping where people are eating or leaving dog poop
in trash recepticles where people congregate.
It gets hot down here often, so what might be ok on a rare cold day,
can turn bad pretty quick on a scorcher!

Why do you think there are signs on the trash recepticles at the postal stations and the squares that state...
”Please do not put animal feces inside” ???

That's what I'm saying. The signs are STUPID! It would be another thing if they actually recycled the tons of junk mail left at the postal stations, but they don't. It's utterly ridiculous. And STUPID!

Just my thoughts.

Or their whiskey bottles/beer cans. I'm reluctant to pick whiskey bottle due to open container laws in my cart. I can just hear the sheriff, I picked up that empty bottle off the street and am going to dispose of it properly, I sure you are as I'm hand cuffed bumping my head shoved in cruiser:22yikes: and yes I only have one balancer due to inner ear and all the associated pieces. I stumble around walking normally which means I can never pass sobriety test.

I pick up trash all the time when out walking. I also see other people doing it. The unsung hero's

I agree, nothing stinks like dog poop and it gets stinker as time goes by. I bag it, tie it tightly, leave it outside and put it in the trash on trash day. Never throw in public trash cans.

I’d put it in a double bag like you do,
but I’d keep it in a covered trash can in the garage.

I don’t think it is stupid to not have people smelling dog poop when retrieving their good or junk mail!

Why do folks think that the area(s) around the Postal Stations are there for dog walks and dog relief? I have seen folks allow their critters use sidewalks, sides of mail buildings, memorial benches, bocce courts, shuffle courts, horseshoe pits and grass around all these areas. Don't they know that folks use these areas and I for one do not like the idea of walking in the area that has been used so many times as a latrine for animals. What is wrong with the area(s) of grass around the dog owners homes? They sure seem to like their neighbors yards and allow their animals to do their business there! The postal box area is not a dog walk! It is not there to exercise dogs or act as their latrine!

First, I am a dog owner. However, I was taught to respect others as well as myself. My dogs are not allowed on benches, yards and/or public areas that others may wish to enjoy. Some pet owners have no respect for themselves or others. You know, the kind of folks that take a **** and walk out without washing their hands (and then want to shake you hand).. You will never change it. People have respect for others or they do not. It by no means is missing in only some pet owners....

I find it inconsiderate and offensive that dog owners use the mail station as their doggie poop place. That is not the intended purpose of that facility, but owner's laziness has made it commonplace.

GypsyBuddy

You are right. Some people are just inconsiderate...parking, seat saving, littering. It's disgusting but they live among us. I walk my dogs around the pool and postal station and pick up poop other people have left. It annoys me but I don't want to step in it later AND I don't like dog owners getting a bad rep because of a few clods.
