We are renting in January and February in the Villages, having been down last year, I realize there is no door to door mail delivery. Rather than hassle with renting a PO Box , I was thinking of having a friend hold our mail and then either Fed X or UPS it every ten days or so.
Question? Does Fed EX or UPS offer door to door service in the Villages?
Thanks

simple answer...yes, both services deliver directly to the home. No problemo.

Is there any chance the owner of the house you are renting will leave a mailbox key for you? That way you could forward your mail for 2 months and have direct pickup at the postal station.

Thanks for the quick response. I did ask the owner about using his PO Box and he referred me to a business call "janes outpost" instead.
Actually, the Fed Ex idea would probably work out better.

You could get the premium forwarding from the USPS. They send all your mail to you every Wed. and you receive it on Friday. I am not sure about the charge but it would not be as expensive as Fed Ex. Also you wont have to rely on your neighbor to do it. Your letter carrier just holds your mail and then sents it out on Wed. every week to your mail box there in The Villages. Or to a friends house there in The Villages.

I rented for four months last year and left prepaid envelopes at my PO in New Jersey. On Friday of each week the Postmaster would collect all my first class mail and send it to me in the Villages. I would then receive it on Tuesday of every week like clockwork. The weekly mailers were four dollars and some change each week. I recommend it highly.

There is no door to door mail service in The Villages. Eash village has there own postal station where you go to pick up ur mail.

And, sometimes there's a large crowd there and a party may break out!

Like getting the mail at a small town post office with no or little delivery services.

Another question..if I would use my Landlords Village address, is there a limit to the amount of mail that will fit in the box? It is possible I would be having both my business and home mail forwarded, so there could be a fair amount-obviously I would collect on a daily basis-but wondering if there was space.

Scoreboard...

If the quantity is too big to fit in the standard slot, the carrier will put it into one of the package bins and leave the key in your box for you to retrieve it from the package bin. Safe, efficient way to handle this situation.
