Yes. I felt immediate relief after an evaluation, then an injection by Dr. Zhou at Florida Pain and Rehab Center. Offices in Lady Lake, Ocala and Gainesville. Florida Pain and Rehabilitation Center (http://www.flpnr.com/)
This was after a long list of therapies: physical therapy, sports medicine doctor, chiropractor.

Just remember -the shots are a band aid-get a series of mri 's done to check out your spine--you do not want to experience drop foot from a damaged nerve
If surgery is necessary I personally recommend Dr. Frank Bono- "Bio Spine" out of Tampa, he used to be inTV but he relocated his practice

There are other treatments and physical therapy exercises which you may want to try before resorting to surgery.

One of my early, and successful, spinal surgeries was performed by Dr. Bono's associate, Dr. James Ronzo. When I went to see him I was practically immobile, and had been confined to a recliner chair for months. He looked at an x-ray of my spine, the way I was sitting, and said, "We can get rid of that pain."
And, using "minimally invasive surgery" for a kyphoplasty procedure, he did remove most of the pain.
I had other spinal issues which my primary care physician felt should be handled by specialists at Shands Hospital, but I definitely obtained great relief from Dr. Ronzo for my crushed vertebra from a trip and fall injury.

I had 3 several years ago. The first helped for about 3 months, the second for about a month and the 3rd for about a week. Then I had the surgery.

OP, there is a thread on here that ran a few weeks ago. The thread title is “Piriformis Syndrome.” There might be some information in some of those posts that can help you.
Sciatic pain can come from different things.
(I would link the thread here for you, but I continue to forget to learn how to link from my iPad.)

For long lasting pain relief go to Dr Botner. No pain meds, no surgery. The piriformis and sciatica can get very tangled up and cause severe pain. He does do injections but uses other things too like robot therapy.

Ouch. I am sorry this is happening to you.
That nerve is the longest one in the body and really can knock you down.
HOPE you get relief soon.

In 2011, I had a series of 2 out of 3 but had a dissectomy that took the pain away immediately. Then 2 years ago I had severe lower back pain, had the MRI (again) and went to another pain specialist (Dr. Zhou) and had the series of 3. These didn't help. Was at PT with my S.O. and they looked at the MRI and told me it was soft tissue issues and not my spine and they could help. It's true about the "Pirformis Syndrome"---it mimics sciatica and you need to do stretches. You need to have the right diagnosis to be helped so do your homework. The shots are a "band-aide" and temporary at best. I know when you have pain you're wanting it gone and will do about anything for relief. Get a 2nd and even 3rd opinion....best wishes!!!
