One uncanny aspect of the investigations into Trump’s Russia connections is that instead of too little evidence there’s too much. It’s impossible to keep it straight without wall charts.

Luke Harding’s new book, “Collusion: Secret Meetings, Dirty Money, and How Russia Helped Donald Trump Win.” is essential, and why I wish everyone who is skeptical that Russia has leverage over Trump would read it. This country — at least the parts not wholly under the sway of right-wing propaganda — needs to come to terms with substantial evidence that the president is in thrall to a foreign power.

Harding, the former Moscow bureau chief of The Guardian, has been reporting on shady characters like Paul Manafort, the former Trump campaign chairman who was indicted last month, long before Trump announced his candidacy. He was able to interview Christopher Steele, the former British spy who wrote the dossier attempting to detail Trump’s relationship with the Kremlin, and who describes the conspiracy between the American president and the Russians as “massive — absolutely massive.”

It wasn’t Putin who fashioned a Republican Party willing to tolerate something close to treason if it’s the price of corporate tax cuts. Even if all the Republicans in Congress read Harding’s book, they probably wouldn’t act. But at least they’d know what they’re abetting.

He doesn't KNOW sh!t...if he DID do a "tell all"...he'd be dead or soon will be.

This is political theater...it's distraction, misdirection.

First, in my opinion, we know so little.

The leaks are coming from witnesses and not the committee, so when this thing is reported we will be stunned at a lot of of it.

I ask the following following...

Somebody colluded for sure, thus who and based on what evidence.

Of course, was the President involved, personally or from what distance.

How can we prevent such an attack in the future, and what are the implications of high government officials being so financially tied to foreign powers.

Are those odds with similar authority or over whelming prediction than the election predictions results of the 11/2016 election??
THEY WERE ALL 100% WRONG!!
So what is different with the current ramblings?

Are you aware that Trump's election came down to less than 80,000 votes in the critical districts of the Electoral College?
The population of the USA is 324 million, and 61 million voted for Trump. You do the math.

OK! And the point is what?
He won and Clinton lost.
Are one point wins in sports any less valid than wide spread scores? Of course not.

Providing data no matter it is sliced, manipulated, cast, spun, etc that show Trump won the election only serves as a reminder.......

He WON! = Clinton LOST!

Which means what relative to the subject of the thread.

We are investigating the Russian involvement in the United States election, NOT the results,

YET...each time this is discussed, you folks bring up the election. That has never been, nor is it, the target of the investigation.

If you still say, "SO WHAT", then you are pretty much an uninformed anti country person.

Don't you just love it. On the one hand Trump is criticized for being such an individualist that he will strike out at any one he views as a potential enemy and yet these same people believe Putin could own Trump.

If there is any truth to that allegation its more likely that Trump owns Putin:D

What is your premise based on ?

The alternate is based on income to Trump from Russia, confirmed more than once by many, including his son twice.

The alternate is based on his reluctance, say refusal, to enact sanctions overwhelmingly approved by the United States Congress.

The alternate is based on our President twice having engaged in money laundering, once with the US mob and the other directly involving the Russian mob. Add to his outstanding debt of billions to unnamed banks (we do know about Deutsche Bank) and they remain unnamed as he refuses to share any personal financial interests with the american citizens he represents. First to actually do that.

Those are some but what basis do you make your claim that "more likely that Trump owns Putin"

The one exception to the "he will strike out at any one he views as a potential enemy" is with Putin.....that does not bolster your defense.

Oh, and by the way, this investigation is not into Trump but the Russian involvement in US elections. YOU and Trump seem to want it to be about HIM though.

The only thing we actually know is this......the Russians did in fact attempt to interfere in a United States election. Other than that, we only know what witnesses have decided to share, uninformed or not.

Trump went bankrupt so many times the only place he could get money from was the Russians. Trump's been caught at least once for money laundering, and he refuses to release any financial information, screaming bloody murder if Mueller goes there.

More significant for the long term is a request made by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence to the U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, which is known as FinCEN, to turn over documents related to Trump and his campaign officials as part of what Senator Mark Warner, the ranking Democrat on the committee, told CNN is “our effort to try to follow the intel no matter where it leads.”

The FinCEN request is particularly interesting because the unit enforces money-laundering laws and is familiar with Donald Trump’s holdings.

Trump's Azerbaijani developers were partners, at the same time, with a company that appears to be a front for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which is known as one of the world’s leading practitioners of money laundering. Trump’s Azerbaijani partners are known to have close ties to Russia, as do his partners in other projects in Georgia, Canada, Panama, and other nations.
