You will probably find several threads that discuss spine surgery.

I seem to recall that Medicare will not cover treatment at Laser Spine Institute, but you may need to research it.

I have had extensive spine surgery which did not have a happy outcome due to nerve damage and cutting many nerves.

I will say that my first surgery, kyphoplasty for three crushed vertebra, went quite well with minimally invasive surgery by Dr. Ronzo (partner of Dr. Bono.) They have moved their practice to Tampa as Bio-Spine Institute. They accept Medicare and other major insurance. Back Surgery Tampa | Spine Surgeons | BioSpine Institute (https://biospine.com/)

I had other issues related to injuries that my primary care physician felt required extensive surgery, and I had that done at Shand's Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Although everyone at the hospital was friendly and helpful, and I had top rated doctors, my condition has not improved due to extensive nerve damage, and I am in a wheelchair.

I wish you success.

I would stay away. Some years ago there was a neurosurgeon here in T.V. (he's left due to ???) that did surgery on my spine. He told me "if" I ever needed more (and this was when we were still snowbirds) that I shouldn't have it done "unless" by a neurosurgeon. If I were you, I'd check with Shands as well as Mayo...I'm not sure that there's any neurosurgeons here. Best wishes with your quest. Oh...I've heard that so many folks have botched back surgeries so you should do your due diligence.

My son had spinal surgery at Spine Center | New England Baptist Hospital Boston, MA (https://www.nebh.org/departments-services/spine-center/) in Boston. His surgery was 7 hrs, after many months of PT he is finally pain free and able to work out and ride his bike. Please, please listen to what these people are telling you, do not mess with your spine.

You can do a lot of traveling to a top notch hospital with $13,000.

Have you ever met someone who has a botched spine surgery? I have and it is not pretty.

Spinal stenosis - Symptoms and causes - Mayo Clinic (https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/spinal-stenosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20352961) Mayo do Spine Surgery for your condition. Spine and Spinal Cord Surgery >> Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida >> College of Medicine >> University of Florida (https://neurosurgery.ufl.edu/residency/about-us/clinical-specialties/spine-surg/) and so does Shands!

At least make an appointment locally at either Shands or Mayo before you make a decision.

Can't directly answer your question about Laser Spine Inst due to no knowledge about them but will still try to be helpfully brief.

Stenosis is one of the "better" (easiest) spinal procedures to have - congrats?!? Just listen to your 'physical terrorist' after.

I've had fusion and stenosis surgery 3 times in the last 14 years. The first time gave me my life back. The second one 11 years later by Dr Bono of Bio Spine Inst was enough of a disaster that I had to have a third a year later. That one at Shands by Dr Hoh in neurosurgery took 8 hours, some of which was undoing what Bono had done to me.

If you gather that I'm not a Bono, Bio Spine fan it was worth my time to send this note.

Good luck, and best wishes

Try a Google search "laser spine institute reviews", there were multiple locations with information, including some info on what is and is not covered by Medicare and Insurance. I would follow this up with a search on known medical web sites (webmd, etc.) use the term MISS and Laser assisted MISS.
Hope this helps and you get the treatment you need.
There was one statement that I stumbled across in the search that most of the Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery (MISS) done in the US does NOT use a laser, with the implication that these are covered.....

Thanks to all! I'm seeing a Dr. Mihyu cardiologist here in TV for cardiac clearance to have my surgery done back home. The Russian doctor has a specialty in cerebral neurosurgery 45 years old and well recommended. I'll just have to deal with the pain and constipation

Please check out Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan @ Hospital for Special Surgery - #1 Orthopedic Hospital in the Nation - located in New York City (http://www.hss.edu)
They are the #1 orthopedic hospital in the country.
I had cervical fusion surgery this past September & feeling good.
Went through four weeks of PT, not easy but it worked.

My doc is/was, Dr. Darren R. Lebl is a spinal surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery, the cervical spine, motion preserving spine procedures, and microsurgery.

Laser Spin Institute in Tampa reviewed and want me to have it there.
Also, had another surgeon review and still went with HSS.
Decided on HSS because of there record. Glad I did!
Spent three nights in HSS after surgery and can tell all this is the place to go.........

HSS's slogan is "they get you back in the game" and they did. Started playing golf again 2 weeks ago.. Only 9 holes still, but back in the game...

Good Luck & God Bless, Dave
