Last night was the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Lake Sumter Landing. There must have been a couple thousand happy Villagers there - and three or four grumps.

Mrs. Trap and I always try to attend and it was another Villages success last night. The program of Silver Rockettes, Villages Twirlers, Drum Corps, Sweet and Sassy Linedancers, and Billy Thatcher was really special and definitely kicked off the Christmas season in The Villages.

If you missed last night's ceremony or the one at Spanish Springs, be sure to go to Brownwood tomorrow night!

Didn't realize they actually had a program of performers vs just a tree lighting ceremony. Sounds like fun! Thanks for taking the time to post about it. You're making me think we should plan a trip down next year around this time so we can join in the festivities.

We went to the tree lighting at Spanish Springs. It was one of the biggest crowds I've seen. The evening was magical - singing with everyone waving red and green candles - beautifully done.
