"We're gonna bash that pretty face in, you [expletive, expletive.]"
- Teamster thugs

Violent union thugs recently snarled those words at Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi.

You see, she and fellow cast and crew had to dash through the picket line to escape the union thugs' threats, only to find their tires slashed by the union militants.

All because some union boss wasn't getting his "cut" of someone else's paycheck.

Yet the union Teamsters harassing and assaulting Lakshmi and producers from the popular TV show for not awarding local unions with production jobs were grinning with glee at a recent press conference.

That's because the four Teamsters were found not guilty of extortion after trying to bully Top Chef into giving them jobs two years ago.

Because of the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court's infamous decision in United States v. Enmons, union bosses are exempt from federal prosecution for coordinating campaigns of violence and extortion in pursuit of "legitimate union objectives."

As if any "objective" could legitimize vandalism, arson, battery and murder.

Because of this decision, union bosses are free to:

***
Threaten and intimidate workers until they submit to union "representation" and forced dues;

***
Terrorize communities with violent strikes -- where they get away with beatings, arson -- even murder.

***
Coerce businesses into turning over their employees through so-called "neutrality" agreements; and

***
Badger legislators into robbing the taxpayers for lavish wages and benefit packages for government workers.

All with the blessing of current federal law.

The Supreme Court has given Big Labor carte blanche to act like schoolyard bullies -- stealing their victims' lunch money and beating them up if they protest.

And it's time it stops.

Fortunately, a bill was just introduced in Congress to repeal Big Labor's "license to kill" and intimidate their victims.

Congressman Steve King's (R-IA) Freedom from Union Violence Act (H.R. 4422) would close this loophole that uniquely protects Big Labor militants from prosecution under federal law.

But the union bosses will not easily give up one of their most powerful organizing tools -- violence.

That's why it's crucial you sign the petition below so I can deliver yours, along with tens of thousands of other petitions from like-minded folks, to your Congressman and Senators and ultimately end this cycle of violence.

Until this loophole is closed, union bosses will continue to it to get away with intimidation.

So when four Teamster thugs at a picket line swarmed Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi's car, forced their way into her window and threatened to hit her...

...Union-label lawyers simply argue, "That's not extortion. That is labor organization activity."

And just like that, the Teamsters who assaulted the Top Chef crew were deemed "not guilty."

Even as these union bosses threatened, slashed tires, hurled slurs, and towered over the terrified Top Chef crew.

But this is just the tip of the iceberg.

In antoher incident, one victim was mercilessly stomped in the face with steel-toed boots until his jaw shattered.

"This is union work! This is our territory. Don't come back!"

Those were the words Scott Kudingo heard as 12 union goons threw him to the ground and clubbed, kicked and punched him about the face, arms, back and body.

The truth is, he could have died that day had he not somehow found the strength to flee.

What motivated such violence?

Kudingo and two of his colleagues dared to work on a project to expand a local Christian elementary school without paying tribute to the local union boss.

Enraged, the union thugs retaliated. . .

. . . Even as the children were just dismissed from school.

Of course you'd expect those responsible to be held accountable for their actions.

Yet with weak local law enforcement and a special exception for union bosses under federal law, no criminal charges were filed last February when the brutal attack took place.

And that's just two recent examples of the countless vicious crimes for which union thugs have gotten off scot-free or with just a slap on the wrist.

Enough is enough.

With the Freedom from Union Violence Act introduced in the U.S. House, now is the time to step up support against such blatant abuse.

Your support, today, is what powers the Committee's grassroots machinery, which delivers crucial pressure on Congress to vote on the Freedom from Union Violence Act.

Our proven plan of action utilizes a cutting-edge digital media strategy with Facebook and Google ads, hundreds of grassroots petition drives, and mailings into tens of thousands of households in targeted congressional districts.

But the only way any of this is possible is with the help of supporters like you.

So in addition to your signed petition, please consider pitching in a generous contribution of $ or $ right away.

Please understand that I am counting on help from every Committee supporter in order to ignite a fire in Congress and force a vote on the Freedom from Union Violence Act.

If $ or $ is out of the question, please consider $ or $ instead.

Until Congress passes a Freedom from Union Violence Act...

...Union bosses will continue to run rampant and use their violent tactics to force people to pay them tribute for the privilege of working.

So please, sign your petition by clicking here and pitch in $, $, $, $ or more right away.

Sincerely,
sig
Mark Mix
President, National Right to Work

Union bosses are walking away scot-free after threatening to "smash" the face of the host of Top Chef and intimidating other crew members, just because they didn't hire their local union.

But this is just one of countless vicious crimes for which union thugs have gotten off scot-free or with just a slap on the wrist.

That's because under current federal law, the union bosses have a "get out of jail free" card for beatings, arson and even murder. It's time Congress tears it up.

So please sign your petition to your Congressman, Senators, Majority Leader McConnell and House Speaker Ryan right away, urging them to cosponsor the Freedom from Union Violence Act (H.R. 4422) at once.

After you've signed, please consider helping the Committee crank up the pressure needed to force a vote on this bill with a generous contribution of $, $, $, $ or more right away.

LOL. Who is brainwashed??

I must be a capitalist tool too? But wait, I have several nice houses, nice cars, nice boat, my kids went to expensive universities, I have zero debt, and I retired at age 54...

I started my working life at a non union company in the construction industry. In 1982 (age 19) I was making $8.50 an hour working for that non union company (that was "big money" for starting pay back then). I worked there for 6 years, I had my first house built during the 4th year of working there. I left that company to open my own non union company in 1989.

For years; I would send the union a Christmas card thanking them for driving my company's prices up (I met the local union President at a picket on one of my jobs in his home town, it became a joke between us - till he passed away).

My company thrived as the union faltered and had to spend more and more money advertising, their lack of foresight has caused them to lose significant market share.

The internet hurt the union as sites like Dodge Report and Isquare came along. Those sites would share what company was awarded the work on projects, and the customers rating on the work done, with other General Contractors that have similar projects (ie: my company was awarded the work on a bank building and we did great work, they are looking for someone to do work on their bank building project - my company looks to be a good option). Lack of performance based pay and the "us against them" culture looks to be a kiss of death for the union in the construction industry.

Today the union is more interested in auditing "signatory" companies that paid the employee overtime, but might have shorted the union.

Their other wasted focus is the revenues from required training for the apprentices (they charge the apprentice to learn how to do their job)...they should be focusing on providing 8 hours work for 8 hours pay, and getting rid of the all too many bad apples they have.

My company did not have to be significantly lower in price, we would be awarded projects being close in price. I could offer something the union could not = productivity! Time is one thing you can never get back in life, and time is very valuable to the developer on these projects.

Things have changed and the union has not adapted well to its surroundings. I never wanted them to disappear (after all they did facilitate my prices going up) but I would not be surprised if they did die out like the dinosaur.

OH...I am better looking than you, my dad could beat up your dad any day of the week, and my mom never wore combat boots...you pro union thug you!

Unions have been big part of politics every since they brought there first politicians. As usually money talks and and long as its someones else's money the more the merry. Union's buy democrats for the pacific reason to get union interest pass at state and federal level. IMO Teachers unions good example in the north and east, brought enough carpetbaggers (which wasn't hard in the northeast) to get up to 100% unfunded retirement and the union gets piece of the pie. Bottom line some are good and some are bad. Your little wage is chicken feed compared to union weight. And as long as you vote for union matters YOU wont be outcast, beat, or killed depending how far up the apple tree you are. You might compare it to gang. Like MS13, we see the signs but think Shyt not happening. Scab maybe better than worm sometimes.
