It has come the time that we have to surrender 2 cats to a NO KILL shelter. I have posted on several sites for two months that we have 2 cats that need to be re-homed. Unfortunately we have not been able to place them with anyone.

It breaks my heart to do this but we have to give the cats up. Can anyone tell me the best place to take the cats for the best chance of being adopted?

Thanks for any help.

So sorry that you must give up your cats. Please contact the Sumter County Humane Society. They have a wonderful, no-kill facility in Lake Panasoffkee. Their number is 352-973-9117. They will find good homes for them.

How sad but we already have two cats. I think it’s harder for cats in a shelter that have experienced a loving home. Perhaps someone will come and take them at the last minute.

Thanks Jazzcat for the information. I will contact them on Monday.

gap2415 - That would be great if someone would come forward at the last minute and want Sammy and Jake. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Please post Sammy and Jake's information (age, colors, pics if possible) again. It should help in finding them a new home.

Call Paws Animal Hospital. I think they work with someone who fosters cats

Please post Sammy and Jake's information (age, colors, pics if possible) again. It should help in finding them a new home.

Here are photos of the two cats.

Sammy is a pretty "big boy" but loves to lay in your lap.
He is around 7 years old.

Jake is smaller in size but has beautiful markings. He is around 4 years old. He loves to play with toys.

I am not positive about the ages as the cats are my Mother-In-Laws. She brought them down from Ohio.

I know they are both neutered and had some shots but that is about all I know.
