After arising at 5:30, Trump switches on the television for the first 4-8 hours he watches, drinks one of his 12 Diet Cokes, and then our commander in chief sallies forth to meet with probably the most illustrious collection of aides since Groucho hooked up with Chico and Harpo.

The group includes Ivanka Trump, of the world of fashion; Jared Kushner, late of New York real estate; Hope Hicks, formerly of the Trump Organization; and, for some reason, H.R. McMaster, the national security adviser. What he knows about real estate or fashion is not at all clear.

MSNBC and Morning Joe to fire himself up. Then meetings with suck ups and attaboy givers.

To all those tuning in, this is what desperation looks like.

I not a fan of Bill Clinton by a long shot, but he didn't drink. His father was an alcoholic and he abstained.

Kind of desperate to go back 17 years to find something.

In the meantime, a reality check:

From Fox news? Kind of like wanting an enema from Kevin Spacey. This would not go well.
