I am selling my house and might very well have a King Size Master Bedroom Set along with other pieces left after sale
ie. rattan dining table and chairs, street legal golf cart
Can anyone give me some advice as to the best way to sell furnishings. I know of consignment is one way to go.
Any others????

Sell it here. You’ll make a little more money than you would on consignment. Also, consignment stores are pretty picky about what they’ll take so even one ding can get a piece refused.

What do you mean..."sell it here". I am currently outside of Florida. When house is sold, I will be packing the 3 rooms that I wish to keep. The other half of the furniture I have to do something with. Yes you are correct, consignment gives you little. My problem is that I will be down there for 2 weeks only...to pack...not much time for me to "sell it here"

Almost Perfect sells a ton of used furniture. They have 3 huge buildings of it. Not sure how they get their used furniture. Worth a call.

Sorry, thought you were down here. Maybe talk to some of the estate sale businesses and let them hold a sale for you? Don’t know their fees but .... Otherwise, guess consignment is your best bet or offer furniture you don’t want as part of the sale of house?

Is your goal to make the "other half" go away because you have to get it out of the house to compete the sale or is it to pick up some extra money by selling it?
If it is to make it go away there are lots of charities that will come to your house and take just about anything... Salvation Army, Good Will and local ones.
If you are trying to get money for it and only have two weeks to do it, while you are packing... that' a pretty tall order. Unless you have some desirable stuff you will get very little for it. You might find a second hand store that will buy it but they will pay very little for it... some will want it for free just to take it away.
When we moved down to The Villages it, in the end, actually cost us to make the stuff we weren't taking with us "go away". Like you we were boxed in on time and couldn't do an estate sale/yard sale... that's probably would get you the most money for the "other half".
Good luck though

We used the services of a local auction house, and although the return was not great the fact that the furniture was gone was great!
