The National Security Council, responsible for briefing Trump on matters of (what else, national security) has to tiptoe around Trump during its briefings.
There is an unspoken understanding within the NSC that to raise anything to do with Russia is to acknowledge its validity, which the president would see as an affront. Trump continues to reject the evidence that Russia waged an assault on a pillar of American democracy. So it is never addressed.
The people at the NSC who operate on this “unspoken understanding” should get out of intelligence work immediately.

First, intelligence agencies have concluded it wasn’t just about helping Trump win; the goal was also to “undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process” and “undermine the U.S.-led liberal democratic order.” Second, intelligence officials have concluded that Russia, in continued service of those goals, is going to try to do this again.
Trump’s refusal to acknowledge Russian sabotage undermines the government’s ability to mount a response commensurate with the destructiveness of those intentions.
U.S. officials may not be briefing Trump on the intelligence conclusion that Russia views its sabotage as an incomplete success. Why? Because “his daily intelligence update” is “often structured to avoid upsetting him.”

99.9% of news reporting today is contrived gossip
by people who have no idea as to what a serious journalist is suppose to do and company an agenda that is fraught with TDS.
These same news agencies are kowtowing to progressives for ratings and the progressives welcome this cover because they have no platform. hence they are fixated on #never Trump concocting stupid stuff like Trump Russian connection and ancient sexual conduct, and exaggerating its importance as respects real national priorities
This witch hunt against men has to end because its getting out of hand. Yes sexual misconduct is bad and yes if its current then let's deal with it. but going back 40 years and demanding a guy walk the hall of shame for stealing a kiss is getting a little weird . It equates with college students seeking safe spaces

You mix up issues. The issue is Trump and his refusal to take Russia seriously as a threat, and how the NSC keeps away from that kind of stuff, which is very very dangerous.
It has nothing to do with sexual misconduct, although I am sure he also explodes when he lies to us about that subject also.
I might add that your reference to the Russian investigation as "stupid stuff" is very alarming.

Sure agree with that. Many of Donald John Trump's actions are alarming. And why does the Washington swamp seem deeper and wider since he took over from President Barack Obama?
