View Full Version : The most diverse country on earth

I heard a Democrat saying that the United States is already the most diverse country on earth and that we should get rid of the diversity immigration policies now in effect.

Do you think that's true? Do you think that there is a more diverse country in the world?

I heard that there are 144 different languages spoken in Queens, NY.

We're 49% white and 51%...others.

Is "diversity" a Type 1 or Type 2 law?

Bog99

Does "diversity" have anything to do with pursuit of happiness?

Does diversity make you happy?

Does diversity make you unhappy?

Yes, my wife is an immigrant and is now a citizen. I don't know what that has to do with the question I posed.

I heard it said that the U.S. is the most diverse country on earth. I simply asked if people think that it's true.

I have no idea if it's true or not I was just hoping to start a conversation and possibly get some facts on the statement.

I have absolutely no problem with immigration. I do have a problem with people coming here illegally and I question some of the rules that we have for immigration, but again, that's a different subject.

I'm stillhaving difficulty understanding what is BS about my post.

I don't know exactly what you mean by " getting rid of the diversity immigration policies? The argument presently encompasses ending chain immigration and replacing it with meritorious immigration.
In either case e, either or both forms of immigration promotes immigration from all over the globe with the exemption of those terrorist nations being targeted by Homeland Security.

I do not know if we are the most diverse nation in the world but we have to be somewhere at the very top.

I do believe that diversity in general has a great affect on this nation some good some bad.

One of the drawbacks is that diversity creates identity politics and those identity collectives believe that federal/state representatives may not be serving or even aware of their needs.

That in part explains Trump Derangement Syndrome as blacks, LGBT communities, etc believed Trump' election will set back their cause. They liked having a black president and one that was pushing the LGBT agenda.

another way diversity affects this nation stems from immigration of people not inclined to assimilate

Perhaps a reread is necessary. Focus on the first paragraph. When you start off with an imaginary situation what follows is usually bull****.

The US is not generally considered to be the worlds most diverse country.
List of countries ranked by ethnic and cultural diversity level - Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_ranked_by_ethnic_and_cultural_di versity_level)

But is certainly diverse enough that we can safely end the policy of the lottery and chain migration.

But is certainly diverse enough that America has fallen from #1 when it WASN'T diverse...when it was 90% white...to #25 where it stands now...and is 49% white.

Is America diverse? Have a listen...

The title of my post was more to garner interest in having a discussion on whether this is true or not. That should have been evident by the content of my OP.

The statement was by Geraldo Riviera, a lifelong Democrat, on FoxNews yesterday morning. He also made the statement that there are 144 different languages spoken in Queens. I don't know if he meant that literally or not, but that's what he said.

What exactly is BS again?

I agree with you.

And then we now have a President who may be the largest ego to exist in this world, and someone who, whether you want to believe it it not, does NOTHING that does not benefit HIM.

We are stepping back, while the rest of the world moves forward.

And guess what...we can move forward and recapture our morals, but the man in the oval represents the worst of a person morally.

Someone else showed me these stats in another forum. It launched a discussion about what exactly is meant by diversity. Now, diversity simply means a range of different things. Now, if we're talking about diversity of people, are we talking about diversity by race, religion, culture, income levels, education, language?

What criterion is used in this particular study?

Largest ego?? Did CNN report that opinion? Have you fact checked that?

Stepping back while the rest of the world moves forward?? Do you have any data to support that claim or is this more opinion reporting you read?

Recapture our morals?? Who is "our"? Is that the group that believes a man sticking his d1ck in another man's a$$ is OK, the group that thinks 2 woman getting married is OK? Or maybe the group that thinks welfare is helping people when really it just holds them back in life?? Or possibly it is you that get to decide what is morally correct: the guy with 50 years experience in the political arena that can't tell anyone what the person he voted for promised to do for this country??

How about The Villages Hypocritical Standard Of Diversity ????

.... i.e. an all-white gated community that virtue projects about diversity. ???? Yeah! That's having your diversity both ways!

Caution: do not try to discuss the objective hypocrisy of this position with a Femo-Fascist, because:

I don't understand people making comparisons to Europeans coming to a land where there was no established country. This was a land that was inhabited by several native tribes. In fact, they were not actually natives, the people that we refer to as native Americans migrated from Asia.

Europeans came and established a country on this land and established a set of laws for that country. The so-called native Americans didn't believe that anyone could own land so how could anyone "steal" their land.

This has happened in many situations throughout the world. The Philippines, for example, is a series of 7,000 islands that were occupied by hundreds of different tribes. They had no affiliation or common interest. It was only when Spain "discovered" the islands and claimed them for their own did they become The Philippines Islands. It wasn't until the United States granted them independence that they became a sovereign country.

Is the world supposed to return to what it was before countries existed?

Excellent post. whether some will admit it or not the Europeans that settled this nation made it into the most powerful nation on earth implementing law and order, the rule of law and individual freedoms granted by God and not man.

People should be judged by their acts in the time they existed and not by today. it is simply unfair. Indeed some in the past sinned but overall and based on human realities this nation has been a beacon of light to the rest of the world. I mean I don't see many people fleeing this nation
