I am new to this site, so sorry if I overstep my bounds. I am a progressive, but not extreme. Kasich was actually who I would have voted for. What has transpired since Trump’s election is terrifying to me. So I look for facts in between all the BS. Here is what I know:

1. We just reached an incredible milestone. Trump’s approval rating (35%) is now the lowest, at this point in his term, of any President since statistically-valid polls started.

2. Trump’s true base are primarily under-educated whites males, rural folks being left behind in the technology revolution, and evangelicals. If you support Trump and are not in one of those go ups, statistically you are an anomaly.

3. The amazing swing to the political right will, historically speaking, cause an equal reaction by swinging back to the left. You can actually make a lot of money at this if you take the emotions out of it.

4. With almost every major issue of importance to the average American ( gun control, abortion, immigration, Foreign policy, security, climate change, Russians interfering with the election, etc.), the public opinion is at great odds with the current GOP agenda. BS you say? Look it all up on PollingReport.com (http://www.pollingreport.com).

5. It does not take a PhD in Political Science to figure out that the GOP, Trump, Bannon and their followers are gathering into a circular firing squad.

I do not mean to hurt anyone’s feelings. Please forgive me.

You are full of mirror-gazing, judgmental, self-regarding conceit. This is typical of Femo-Fascists and is basically why Trump won (socially).

Underlying the disgusting elitism of the Femo-Fascists is the total ignorance of Type 1 vs. Type 2 law --- another reason for the defeat of Femo-Fascism's standard bearer.

Please study these links in order to restore some objectivity (and humility) to your politics.

Dear Newbie

The Dow Jones is at an all time high

The economy is booming

A genuine tax reform bill is about to be finalized

Black unemployment is the lowest its been in 17 years

Trump cut through mounds of unnecessary business regulations

Trumps de-regulation efforts and the pending tax reform has changed businesses behavior and they are beginning to use the cash that sat on for so long to re-energizing this economy

Trump has made several judicial appoints and could have made substantially more but Schumer is playing the" cloture" game

Trump has made it clear to the world that a new sheriffs in town
and has cut through the hypocrisy that has existed for fa tool long
We see that because the UN which is not America's friend is disturb by the fact that they can schmooze this president .

Polls serve no other purpose than to mislead and sway people's thinking. I prefer the old fashion way and look to actual results and in that and despite the orchestrated attempt to de-rail Trump he has yet blinked.

Is it? Is it scary knowing that the country is now MORE than 50% minorities? You want to know WHY the average IQ is so low? Whites have gone from 90% of the population to the current 49%. America's average IQ will be much lower when the minorities are at 80% of the countries population.

You are smart enough to know why the IQ level is where it is.

BECAUSE the Fed keeps pumping money into the bond/stock markets.

BECAUSE the Fed keeps pumping money into the economy.

White male employment is at it's LOWEST level in years.

America is at the lowest level in years...from #1 to #25.

The numbers of minorities has never been higher, they are now 51% of the population.

Does it matter?

I give them props if it wasn't a D or R. ANYONE but a D or R.

I'd LOVE to see a presidential election where Mickey Mouse wins as a write in. ANYONE but a D or R!!! BOTH sides are completely corrupt...part of a corrupt political system.

It matters when all they do is bitch...they most likely did not even take the time to vote, and yet somehow have all the time in the world to bitch.

Mickey mouse and Trump would both be considered outsiders to me. Only difference is Mickey made no promises and we have no idea what he would want to do.

Ross Perot seemed like a great businessman, but at the time it was considered he had nothing to trade with congress, and thus nothing would get done.

Trump while running as an "R" is not of the same cloth as the majority of the party. Thanks to liberal lawyers and Obamma, the president can do a lot more today without congress.

I voted for Ross...we ALL should have. We wouldn't have been sold out as quickly with a 3rd party to slow things down. But they too are/would become corrupt too.

Bottom line is ALL governments ARE immoral when they rule over others.

Hi Chipster, Welcome to the list.

If as you say "Trump’s true base are primarily under-educated whites males, rural folks being left behind in the technology revolution,

and evangelicals" along with the "anomalies" can you share two or three reasons why Hillary lost.

It doesn't seem like that would be nearly enough of the population to put Trump over the top.

How easily you forget the Russian propaganda that persuaded millions that Hillary was a "crook". The proof? Republicans now completely control the entire government and it is not Hillary, but Trump, who is being investigated.

So in your opinion, the voters who would normally have voted for Hillary, are so stupid and ignorant that they let some facebook adds change their mind and vote for Trump.

Keep in mind that Hillary spent 1.4 billion on her campaign, and the Russians spent about 300,000.

Doesn't say much for the average Democrat voter, does it?

First of all, I am most surely not a female 😅 and my wife of 37years got a huge belly laugh from whoever came up with that. Actually I am a 66 year old current CEO of a multinational company, managing the business from a virtual office in the front bedroom of a new Ivy. But none of that matters because I am thrilled to be loving The Villages like everyone else here.

I think this is the problem on this message board: most folks who read this drivel are lurkers -they never post anything. Those of us that do are immediately branded as extreme conservative or liberal. But many posters really are probably moderates, just wanting to express some facts and get intelligent discourse going. Nope. Interesting that none of you Trump supporters had any debate about the facts I cited, you only wanted to express your displeasures at me stating them. Fair enough. So let me try this one and see if there are some thinkers out there: The tax bill passed today is PROVEN to be deeply unpopular with the general American voting public. Apparently they can see that the tax advantages for the middle class (temporary) are insignificant to the advantages (permanent) given to the high wealthy. There is also broad resistance to saddling our children with another trillion dollars of debt during a period of great economic growth. So why did the Republicans do it? And isn’t this wonderful dry gunpowder for the Dems in the upcoming mid-terms? Please don’t answer with **** you bombs. I am interested in your reasoned answers.

If everything you you say is true, then there was no way Hillary could have lost the election, but she did.

What are the main reasons, in your opinion, she lost the election.

First of all, I am most surely not a female and my wife of 37years got a huge belly laugh from whoever came up with that.

Good to see someone looking for intelligent discussion on this Political Forum posting. Welcome.

Tell him about your 224. ALL newbies need to know.

You can find out a lot of information about my 224 613 Project in many places on Talk of the Villages. I have been talking about it on here since 2008 or so. The TRUMP TROLLS do not like it; which is its favor.

Please post a link.Dear newbie,

Tal is a wackjob, an evil wackjob. He has lived with his mommy and daddy his whole life. He will call me a liar because perhaps he lived elsewhere while he was being handed his pity degree.

Ask Tal what score he got on his SAT and LSAT.

Good luck on that.

I've given up on actually having an intelligent political conversation, because the Trump Cultists or the fake/hypocritical Christian preacher (ie: RUBITHEcon)...prefer to troll instead of discuss.

If you haven't been told yet, you can see who the last 10 posters were by hitting the 'quote' button in any post and then scrolling way down...to see the user name of the person making the post.

You will quickly find out that the usual suspects, post about the usual things (eg: overt racism/misogyny by Don Baldwin/Larbug/Dirtbanker/Etc., blind Trump loyalty by Rubithecon/Allegiance/Etc. and just outright weirdness by people like Bog99) and that you can get pretty good at guessing who posted what...without even using the quote button. :D

And while The Villages in general is obviously hard right, I think the right-wing extremists in the political forum are on the very extremist fringe...and are not a true representation of the average Repub resident here.

Anyhoo...welcome. :ho:

I am neither a progressive or a conservative. Rather I am a pragmatist and a realist and prefer to come to my own conclusion rather than a collectives. Social Security costs about a trillion dollars a year. Actions speak louder than words. In his first major action did he put money into supporting SS. He took a trillion dollars from future tax income and gave it to the top 1%. If SS was a large part of my income I would begin to worry he cares about seniors about as much as he cares about the women he groped.

Trumps first major action was a ban on imigration from countries that terrorists travel from...why worry about collecting SS if your blown up in a coffee shop?

SS is not a large part of anyone's income...It is a terrible investment with regard to ROI. You, being a silly woman, can wait "till I can't wait any longer" to apply for SS if you want - but you never know when your going to die!

News flash: all heterosexual guys care more about pu$$y than anything else in life. If there was no women, we would have been happy living in a cave with just a fire and bison meat. There would be no drama, no need for flashy cars or dress, and no whining...
