Here we go again! Comcast/Xfinity is increasing their prices again at the end of January! Are they improving their service along with the price increase! I think not! If you're a Comcast/Xfinity user, check your current bill and read the explanation concerning price increases for some of their services.:shocked:chilout

Comcast ranked as WORST company in the nation and I concur!!!!!

Is this our monthly “beat up on Comcast” post? If you take the time to work with Comcast you can avoid or reduce these fees. For example, purchase the modem, or with the extensive On Demand offerings, do you really need that DVR service? Do a little homework and save.

Cable service/internet is not regulated. They can charge whatever the market will bear.

My initial 2 year agreement is expiring. I have the triple play starter bundle, and thinking of upgrading to the premier triple play bundle for the next 2 years, which looks like the same price I am now paying. Is this a good deal or am I missing something? It is about $170 per month, and I have 2 tvs and dvr service.

$131 triple play with HD, hbo stream pix and dvr. Use fire stick for anything else. While not thrilled with Comcast still the best deal for us

Received a letter today from Spectrum to announce a price increase of over 30%. So, I called them to negotiate a one year continuation of my current charge for internet. I suppose I will need to do the same next year.

Our home up north is in a very rural location and we do not have any wired internet connection, only satellite which is very expensive, slow, weather dependent, and has restrictive data caps. I would absolutely love to have service from the WORST ranked company in the nation, it would be way better than no service at all. When we go to our Villages home and actually have wired high speed internet we can not believe our luck : )

Ok, I am in the minority here, but Comcast works for me. Good service in my opinion. Love the X1 service. Oh well, different strokes. They have been helpful to me with few exceptions. Life is short. Enjoy

I have Comcast/Xfinity for only Internet -- Performance Starter @ $49.95/month. This is not an introductory price.

In mid-December, the Performance Starter bandwidth was boosted from 10 Mbps to 25 Mbps at the same price. And the cost of Performance Starter is not going up in January 2018.

When our two year contract expired in September Comcast wanted to increase the price by 20%. We were able to negotiate the same rate locked in for two more years.
Unfortunately they will not negotiate all the fees and our January bill has increases of over $4 per month for their built-in fees.
I especially like the "Regional Sports Fee" charged for something we never use.
While the $4 fee increase is not an outrageous amount it does give me more reason to seriously explore going cord less in September 2019 when our current package expires.

We had Comcast for years both up north and in Florida and after suffering their abuse finally got rid of them and went to Direct TV. Of course like any other non regulated company you have to watch them like you would a burglar at your door but they are good and we are happy!:BigApplause:

Just upped my internet speed to 100MPS from 75, and sent me a note to reboot the modem. So yes,

I am with you. Comcast is a company we “love to hate”. Technology in this field is changing rapidly. Sony Vue, YouTube TV, Hulu, Slingbox, OTA anttenas, there a lots of options. I have not found an option as good as Comcast. They have millions of customers, but they are willing to work with you to keep from losing one.

If you have a Roku Stick or box, I would suggest looking at the Xfinity app. It may save you a few bucks and provide better options!

Just so there is no confusion, the bandwidths (nominal) are given in units of megabits per second. This may also be presented as "Mbps". Upload and download bandwidths are typically different.

As a former computer store owner, but that was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. I was trying to be consistent with a previous poster DARFAP. However, you are correct! 100 Mbps download

My Comcast bill for Internet (blast) and landline just about doubled. I don't have exact figures because I have a promotion that expires in February but it appears that it will go from $62 to around $115. THis is the first time I've not been able to work with someone on the phone to get another promotion. I am looking for options. We live in Amelia. I'd prefer to stay with Comcast if I could find a way to negotiate.

Exact same thing here. I had to "negotiate" price down just keep it at double what I was paying.

Directv Now has the golf channel.Directv Now is the streaming version of Directv, though it doesn't have everything Directv does.

I'm thinking of Century Link for Internet and Landline. There was one thread that seemed to have positive ratings for it. Did anyone have a problem with Century Linkfor Internet and/or phone?

If you really want/need a landline, look into the Voice-over-IP offerings such as Ooma. You may find it is lower cost than using CenturyLink for a landline.
