Can someone please explain how the points system works.
Overnight my booking points have gone from 3 to 6. and all in red
The website said no penalty points for cancellation yesterday.
I looked on the help section, but it was not a lot of help!
Thank you.

The Golf Tee Time Office number is 352-750-4558. They should be able to explain your current status.

Good explanation here:

As to why you got 3 points yesterday on a 1 point day? I would call the tee time office as biker1 suggested.

I had the same issue re yesterday’s points...received 3, even though it was a 1 point day. Called the Tee Time Office, very nice folks, explained a system-wide mistake was made. Points will be corrected for everyone after midnight tonight to reflect the 1 point day.

Thanks for all replies. Will see what happens after midnight!
Due to hearing loss, was trying to avoid phone as I am a very frustrating person to talk to on that media. I always feel sorry for anyone on the other end of a call from me!!

Be sure you don't cancel the day before your tee time because you think the weather will be bad, and before the decision is made to wave cancellation points on the day of your tee time. You will get the cancellation points assigned. If you cancel are the decision has been made by the tee time office to wave cancellation points you should be OK. That happened to our group this week.

The tee time system office was nice enough to correct our error though with a phone call. They are great people there.

When are the points on executive golf courses reset to zero? Is it Sunday night? That is what I have heard.

Bogie Shooter- I have throughly read the 24 page Golfing in The Villages linked in post 3 and nowhere does it tell me when the points reset.

The total points (current points) do not reset to zero at a specific time. The points for a specific day roll off after 7 days. The "current points" is the sum of the points for the last 7 days. If you are playing golf several days per week you will always have some "current points". For example, if you are playing golf every day and if we ignore any bonus points or cancellation points then your "current points" will always be 7.

Nobody answered the original question. Points in red are negative. For example, if your assigned time is too far off your requested playtime, you may get a point in red which is deducted from your total. The entire system is clearly explained in the "Good Golf" seminar ( which should be mandatory for everyone, IMHO )

Yes, the original question was answered; there apparently was a system wide error, which was corrected (see post #4). In addition, the phone number and website were provided.

On the website, net points (points minus bonus) that have not rolled off (after 7 days) are listed in "red" in the "net points" column. These are the only ones you need to pay attention to.
