Glad to see this, and as I and a few others had posted months ago, they HAVE been investigating for "several" months.

If guilty of any of this, the Clintons need to be punished, but if not, Trump will just attack the invesrigators

"The FBI is investigating whether the Clinton Foundation accepted donations in exchange for political favors while Hillary Clinton was secretary of state.

That's according to a person familiar with the investigation who was not authorized to discuss it publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity. The person tells The Associated Press the investigation has gone on for several months. The Hill newspaper first reported it."

The Department of Justice is not the president’s personal legal team, designed to lock up his rivals. DOJ has a long tradition of independence from the White House. Bowing to the wishes of the president to investigate his political enemies would undermine public confidence in the objectivity of DOJ’s charging decisions in this case and all others.
It may be, as some have speculated, that the new investigation is designed merely to appease Trump, and that officials know full well that no charges will emerge. Even that sort of charade would be an abuse of the awesome powers of the Department of Justice and a waste of resources that could be better spent on new cases.

I do not see this as them "bowing" to anyone.

This is not being done, IN MY OPINION, because of anything the President said or did not say.

My thoughts are this is part of a total and complete examination of foreign input to our elections and frankly...go for it.

Anyone who co operated in anyway deserves the max punishment and can be termed traitor.

This is a bit different than the other "looks" taken.......and I really think your comment on they will find nothing of substance at all is totally accurate, but an investigation of election fraud should be complete

Might be like that highly touted "investigation" of "illegal voting" that quietly folded a few months later. Simply to appease the child/president we have.

Trump’s finances hang like the sword of Damocles over his presidency. It’s for this reason that Jared Kushner repeatedly omitted information about his finances and about meetings with foreigners from his security clearance application, signed under penalty of perjury.
It’s why Kushner’s meeting with a Russian banker during the transition was not originally disclosed. It’s why, as Stephen K. Bannon pointed out, Mueller has stocked his team with plenty of money-laundering and other financial crimes gurus.
It's why some Republicans in Congress and people like Hannity get more hysterical about "Hillary, Hillary, Hillary" every day.
It's why Trump refuses to release any financial data and has said it would be a "red line" if Mueller went there.
Well, Mueller is going there. LOL.

Might be like that highly touted "investigation" of "illegal voting" that quietly folded a few months later. Simply to appease the child/president we have.

That case is actually a bit funny when you read the details...although the Post article does not see the humor and when you think of the non validated charges thrown around by the President and when you look at the statistics that come out after years of investigation.....you gotta smile how anyone believes anything this President ever says.

"On Wednesday night, President Trump abruptly announced he was disbanding his Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity. This was the panel charged with finding proof of Trump’s absurd claim of millions of illegal voters, and it went downhill from the beginning. But while the panel has vanished, its spurious arguments remain widespread. Claims of voter fraud still form the basis of efforts to suppress the vote across the country. Now can we call a stop to that effort, too?"

The voter fraud hoax isn’t funny - The Washington Post (https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/trumps-voting-commission-implodes-but-its-bad-ideas-live-on/2018/01/04/6f0ffac4-f173-11e7-b390-a36dc3fa2842_story.html?utm_term=.71fa58146f13)

"It’s easy to cheer the demise of President Trump’s so-called election integrity commission, which he disbanded abruptly on Wednesday, just eight months after establishing it.

Many send-offs come to mind. Some, like the one a White House adviser used in an interview with CNN, are unprintable in a family newspaper. We’ll stick with the words of Senator Bob Casey, Democrat of Pennsylvania: “Good riddance.”

The commission was a transparent sham from the start, nothing more than a cover to justify Mr. Trump’s reckless and unfounded claims about widespread voter fraud in the 2016 presidential election, which he blamed for his losing the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by nearly three million votes.

The lying continued on Wednesday. In a brief executive order, the president said he was ending the commission “despite substantial evidence of voter fraud” — but the commission turned up no such evidence, substantial or otherwise.
